Leveling Up With My Pet
130 Take no more risk
Liu Yong had just finished breakfast and was about to take a break before heading to the company.
The whole family had breakfast together every day, and since his parents moved in, their lives had been more organized with hot meals and dishes.
Liu Yong had arranged for housekeeping, but his parents often helped with cleaning.
When he suggested hiring a part-time worker, Zhou Xiuying objected, saying it would be a waste of money. Li Changle also occasionally visited.
If Liu Yong wanted to spend time with Li Changle, he took her to some five-star hotels for a more relaxing time with no one to disturb them.
After breakfast, Liu Yong was surprised to receive Overlord's message:
"Master, I just found something that seems to be a sunken ship just ahead."
Liu Yong became interested and opened the third-party vision to see Bawang and its surrounding environment.
Bawang had grown larger, now weighing nearly 80 tons, and was on the bottom of the sea, surrounded by seaweeds, corals, and other things.
"Overlord, where are you now?" Liu Yong asked.
"I'm still in the South China Sea,"
The water here is clear, and the food is abundant. It's good. I'll stay here for a while." replied Overlord.
"Go and see what kind of sunken ship it is," Liu Yong instructed.
Within two minutes, Bawang arrived next to the sunken ship, which lay on the bottom of the sea covered in thick coverings and seaweed.
Through the perspective of a third party, Liu Yong judged that it was a wooden shipwreck that was a few years old.
"Master, do you want me to dismantle it?" asked Overlord.
Liu Yong hesitated, concerned about the potential damage to fragile cultural relics such as porcelain.
"Try to take it apart, but be careful not to damage the things inside," he warned.
Typically, Overlord would have used its giant spear to poke a few large holes in the sunken ship and started breaking or splitting the wood.
But with Liu Yong's orders, Overlord became more careful, meticulously cleaning up the seaweed and suction cladding on the sunken ship.
"Overlord, you are not bad, and you know how to work carefully," praised Liu Yong.
Bawang replied, "Master, I'm working, don't worry. Wait until I clean up the seaweed and some covered things on the sunken ship."
"Okay, take your time, don't worry. Contact me after it's basically cleaned up," said Liu Yong.
Bawang continued to work carefully while Liu Yong told his parents to go out, and Chen Hu had already been waiting at the villa's gate for a long time.
Liu Yong arrived at the company, strolled to his office, and commenced his workday with a sense of anticipation.
His mind was focused on the submerged vessel that Bawang had been assigned to clean up. He had contracted Bawang, an experienced underwater archeologist, to examine the sunken vessel and assess its value.
After arriving at his office, Liu Yong quickly checked Bawang's progress from a third-party perspective.
Bawang seemed tireless and had been meticulously cleaning the surface of the submerged ship. Within an hour, he had effectively cleared up most of the debris, revealing a more unmistakable outline of the shipwreck.
Liu Yong was now convinced that this was an ancient wooden sunken ship, but it was a type he had never seen. To satisfy his curiosity, he decided to conduct a search on his phone.
After investigating and comparing the current situation of the sunken ship, Liu Yong made a basic deduction.
He concluded that it was an ancient wooden shipwreck from the Song Dynasty, which belonged to a pointed ship previously unknown to him.
Based on the ship's size, Liu Yong estimated that if its length exceeded 30 meters, its displacement should be approximately 500 tons. With this tonnage, the vessel was most likely an ocean-going trade ship during that period.
As he considered that the ship might have been used for trade, Liu Yong grew eager to know what kind of goods it may have carried. With his limited historical knowledge, he knew that China had traded with some Southeast Asian countries during the Song Dynasty and that the famous Maritime Silk Road had been established.
Bawang interrupted Liu Yong's thoughts, asking if they could begin dismantling the sunken ship. Liu Yong pondered this momentarily before answering,
"Try removing a few wooden boards and see what we find."
Bawang's enthusiasm was immediately reignited as he began to dismantle the ship. With just one of his front paws, he grabbed a wooden board from the sunken vessel, and it broke apart with ease.
Overlord was astonished at how effortlessly the council had broken, exclaiming, "Master, I barely exerted any force, and this board was split by me, and it was broken into two pieces."
Liu Yong calmly explained that this was to be expected, as the ship had been submerged for hundreds of years and exposed to seawater immersion and corrosion.
The planks were naturally in a state of advanced decay. He instructed Bawang to exercise caution as he continued to remove the boards.
Bawang complied and removed several more boards, revealing one of the ship's cabins. He shouted out in amazement,
"Master, have you seen this? This cabin is filled with porcelain, an entire cabin full of porcelain!"
Liu Yong had already observed this through his third-party perspective and confirmed Bawang's discovery.
Indeed, the cabin was full of porcelain, stacked haphazardly and nearly overflowing the entire space.
Some of the porcelain had suffered damage, but there were still plenty of pieces that remained intact.
Liu Yong was ecstatic. He knew that there were many valuable items among the porcelain pieces, all of which were hundreds of years old.
The profit margin would be considerable. However, he refrained from instructing Bawang to continue dismantling the ship, fearing they might accidentally break any of the intact porcelain.
It would be a significant loss if they destroyed any valuable items.
Liu Yong couldn't help but feel a sense of unease gnawing at him as he watched the meticulous disassembly of the Bawang unfold before his eyes.
Even with the utmost care and precision being taken, he knew all too well that the sunken ship, having been submerged for so many years, could no longer be as sturdy as it once was.
The thought of a sudden collapse and the potential damage that could be wrought upon any valuable contents inside made his heart race.
As his anxiety peaked, Liu Yong felt compelled to speak up. "Bawang, let's not take any more risks," he said in a voice laced with concern.
"We need to proceed with extreme caution, salvaging only the porcelain pieces that we can recover, and transporting them to our warehouse by the sea with the utmost care."
Despite his worries, Liu Yong was determined to turn this risky venture into a profitable one.
He planned to produce some porcelain pieces and take them to a professional appraiser to determine their value. If the porcelain was worth a lot of money, they could make a fortune again.
With that in mind, Liu Yong supervised the careful extraction of the porcelain pieces from the Bawang, each treated with the utmost care and wrapped in protective layers before being transported to the warehouse by the sea.
When they had recovered all the porcelain pieces they could find, Liu Yong set about producing his own pieces, taking the utmost care to ensure they were of the highest quality possible.
