Leveling Up With My Pet
103 All efforts paid off!!
As Liu Yong stepped into another cabin, he immediately noticed it was in disarray. The rusted and rotted items throughout the room made it difficult to navigate through.
He should have searched more thoroughly despite shining his lamp on some objects.
To his relief, there was no sign of a corpse in the living cabin. However, he did find a few tattered and useless items lying around. It was clear that this cabin had been looted before.
"Let's move on to the next one," Liu Yong said, hoping for better luck.
He searched through several compartments in a row, but unfortunately, he found nothing significant in the sundries or living rooms. He was starting to feel discouraged.
Just as he was about to move on to the next cabin, he was suddenly blocked by something in the aisle of the ship. There was no way for him to swim over it.
"You bastard, there are still things blocking the way," Liu Yong muttered under his breath, frustration evident in his tone.
Liu Yong extended his arm and forcefully tugged, causing the objects to crumble. This was due to the deterioration of the items as well as Liu Yong's strength. The sudden tug displayed a force of at least one or two thousand kilograms.
As he made his way to the next cabin, Liu Yong discovered the door was shut.
He pushed with force, resulting in a dull thud as the door gave way. As he entered, a cloud of murky seawater splashed into the room, but he disregarded it and made his way to the oversized mobile phone he had spotted earlier.
"It looks like an office," Liu Yong observed, despite the extensive corrosion and decay within the room.
A large desk was overturned, and nearby, a corpse lay on the ground. Judging from the tattered military uniform, the deceased appeared to be an officer and likely the supreme commander of the transport ship.
Intrigued, Liu Yong wondered if there was anything of value in the room.
After rummaging through the decaying items, Liu Yong only found a useless pen and a corroded gun.
Disappointed, he took another photograph of the office and noticed something peculiar.
On the wall hung a painting, but it had become so rotten that it was barely distinguishable.
However, in one corner, there seemed to be a safe. Liu Yong immediately investigated and found that the safe was severely eroded, covered in sediment, debris, and pitch-black.
Liu Yong pondered if anything was valuable within the safe and decided to forcefully open it since he lacked the necessary passwords or keys.
Preparing himself, he put the oversized flashlight aside and began to apply pressure to the safe's door. With a sudden bang, the door swung open.
To Liu Yong's surprise, the safe was full of items. He quickly sorted through the documents and bundles of banknotes, only to realize they were already deteriorating into mud due to their extensive decay.
Disappointed, Liu Yong examined the paintings and discovered they were all worthless. As he continued to peruse the contents of the safe, he suddenly stumbled upon a jade plaque.
However, the rope attached to it was so rotten that it would break upon touch.
"What!" Liu Yong exclaimed, amazed by his discovery.
Liu Yong flexed his muscles and yanked hard, causing the object in his grasp to crumble. The decay of the thing, combined with Liu Yong's impressive strength, was likely the cause of its demise.
"That was at least one or two thousand kilograms of strength," Liu Yong thought.
With the path cleared, Liu Yong swam to the next cabin door and found it shut tight. He pushed against it with all his might, producing a muffled sound as the door gave way.
A surge of murky water rushed out as he pried open the hatch, but Liu Yong didn't let it deter him as he swam inside with his oversized phone in hand. "Looks like an office," he observed, despite the poor condition of the furnishings.
An overturned desk and a corpse in a tattered military uniform lay next to it, likely the supreme commander of the transport ship. Liu Yong's curiosity was piqued.
"Does this guy have anything valuable?" he wondered aloud.
As he rummaged through the debris, Liu Yong came across a pen, though it was unusable due to age and wear. He also found a gun that was severely corroded and useless.
"What a poor ghost, nothing of value," he muttered disappointedly.
Just then, Liu Yong spotted something on the wall that caught his eye.
"Is that a painting?" he wondered aloud. Upon closer inspection, he saw it was badly decayed and looked more like a safe.
Approaching the safe, Liu Yong noticed the thick layer of grime and corrosion. "Is there anything valuable in this safe?" he asked himself before forcing it open.
Putting his flashlight aside, Liu Yong braced himself and exerted all his strength, finally causing the safe to give way with a loud bang. "What's inside?" he asked eagerly.
As he pulled out the contents, Liu Yong was disappointed that the banknotes and paintings were almost completely rotted. But his disappointment was short-lived as he uncovered a beautiful jade plaque.
"What's this?" he exclaimed, holding it to the light.
Liu Yong wiped it clean and examined it closely.
"This is probably a piece of glass, at least it's Gao Bing's full green jade card," he marveled.
"This thing is valuable!"
Continuing his search for the safe, Liu Yong was thrilled to discover a stash of gold bars. "This is by far the most gold bars found after searching so many compartments," he said, counting each one as he pulled them out.
"All efforts were not in vain!"
Liu Yong couldn't contain his excitement with twenty-three kilograms of gold in hand.
"We did it!" he shouted, relishing the fruits of his labor.
Liu Yong was pleased with his haul as he carefully placed everything he had collected, including the small yellow croakers, into the sturdy net bag he had brought. Satisfied that he had caught everything, he secured the safe and left the cabin.
"Let's head back to the yacht for a short rest," he said to himself as he realized that more than an hour had passed since he had first ventured into the water. Liu Yong felt tight in his chest and needed to come up for air.
It only took a few minutes for him to reach the yacht. As he placed his things on the table, he noticed that Chen Hu was nowhere to be seen.
"He's probably still sleeping," Liu Yong thought as he wiped his face and hair with a towel and removed his rubber diving suit. He decided to take a short break before examining his treasure.
As he brewed coffee, Liu Yong gazed at the gold bars and picked up the jade plaque, admiring their beauty. "These are the biggest haul of this trip," he murmured.
"I must find out if they are made of glass and full of green jadeite. If they are, I won't sell them. They will be a family heirloom."
Liu Yong was convinced that the little RB had stolen these items during World War II and were now rightfully his. After resting on the yacht for about half an hour, he felt re-energized and ready to venture back into the water.
During his break, Liu Yong pondered the possibilities of the sunken ship he had discovered. It was a transport ship, and he wondered what it had been transporting before it sank.
He was determined to find the transport compartment and the cargo hold of the vessel and search for more valuable items.
"I need to find the transport cabin. That's where the real treasure may lie," he said as he prepared to dive back into the water.
With renewed energy, Liu Yong put on his diving suit once again. The light was good, and he didn't need to carry an oxygen cylinder. Full of hope, he plunged into the water, heading towards the sunken ship at the bottom of the deep sea.
As he swam towards the ship, Liu Yong's mind raced excitedly. He wondered if more surprises would be waiting for him on this dive. His heart beat with anticipation as he approached the ship's hull, determined to uncover the secrets.
