The woman possessed a beauty that could not be defined in human words.

This sentence rang in Kyran's head as he recalled another person or being whose beauty could be said the same.

A being with glistening skin, as if they were covered in diamond dust. Her lips, the shade of coral, were lushed. Her eyes seemed to have been carved from diamonds, and the color of her scleras was the same as her pupils— light pink.

The woman looked very much like White Lily, except the color of her eyes was not light pink but faded green. Nevertheless, the resemblance was uncanny, and assuming they were related was not wrong.

Could that woman be related to White Lily and was one of the spirits that entered a different rift to take refuge during the Spirit plane's destruction?

Kyran racked his brain for every conversation he had with White Lily and recalled if she mentioned any missing sibling or family. But no matter how much he tried, he never heard her mention any. His memory was quite good, thus, he could not be wrong. Then again, he never really asked her about her past, especially her family. It was not because he was being impersonal. As a matter of fact, he wanted to learn more about what happened in the Human plane during his predecessor's time.

Kyran avoided asking White Lily about her past or family because he feared she would tell him stories about her and his predecessor. The thought of hearing stories about them made him uneasy, and she added to that uneasiness with how she treated him like Caelan's reincarnation or something.

But after seeing the woman who walked out of the cargo, Kyran regretted not asking White Lily about her. It only occurred to him how cold he had been to her for not asking those things.

It was not only her. There was also Stella, some of his Sigils, and those from the Nobles Families he marked. He never really tried to know them.

Even Cyneah. The person Kyran believed to be the most important person to him.

Kyran had thought he was being mindful of not asking Cyneah to tell him about her past. Because, as he told her when she asked, he honestly did not want her to remember any painful memories. But thinking about it now, even if he did not ask, she would always have those painful memories. Whether he wanted her to remember or not, memories like that would always be there. She might even be tormented by them every single time.

That had been the case when Kyran first had a tragic experience while still in training. Occasionally, he would remember all those innocent lives he killed and would feel regretful. His mood would then be affected, and he might even do something reckless as a result.

Unlike a year ago, Kyran had better control over his emotions now. He could maintain a calm and relaxed demeanor even when his mind was in turmoil after remembering what happened.

But this was Kyran. His family taught him the art of combat and control over his emotions at all times since he was a child. Obviously, he failed on the latter because there were still situations where he could not control them— especially when his family and people were concerned. However, because he had prior training, he had no difficulty adapting as time passed.

Cyneah was different. She was not trained to control her emotions. Maybe if she grew up in the palace, she might have learned it. She was the Crown Princess, after all. But she had been forced to leave the palace and live as a disabled and unwanted nobody.

Kyran cleared his thoughts.

Thinking about these things now would do him no good. He had to focus on the matter at hand.

Turning his attention to the situation below, he watched as the woman who looked much like White Lily, except for the color of her eyes, raised her right hand.

Suddenly, several glowing silvery orbs of different sizes emerged from the ground and gathered before her palm.

Kyran's eyes narrowed as he sensed a similar energy to magic energy coming from those orbs.

'Could those orbs be mana?' he wondered as he continued to observe the situation below.

The three magical beasts continued to roar and scream. Clearly, they were afraid of the woman, yet they were reluctant to make a run for it.

The glowing silvery orbs grew one meter in diameter before bursting into several small lights. These small lights flashed and connected to one another, forming a one-meter diameter white chrysanthemum flower.

Seeing the flower made Kyran remember White Lily's huge diamond lily. He had thought she got her name because her magic manifested as such. But that might not be the case. Instead, White Lily might be the Spirit of Lily flowers. Which meant the woman below was the Spirit of Chrysanthemum flowers.

The more Kyran thought of it, the more he believed it was the case.

With a wry smile, Kyran could not help but feel a little ashamed. He was the son of the Spirit Child, yet his knowledge about them was limited.

As the white chrysanthemum materialized, the woman's eyes glowed, and she waved her outstretched hand. The chrysanthemum spun, and three identical but smaller and transparent chrysanthemums emerged from it. They then flew toward the three magical beasts and passed through their bodies.

The three magical beasts let out a wretched cry as the small translucent chrysanthemums embedded themselves into their backs. Soon, the chrysanthemums turned into seals, and the three magical beasts' eyes glowed fiercely.

The woman then closed her eyes, lifted her other arm, and began to wave as if she were in front of an invisible audience and was in the middle of conducting a show.

RAWRGH!

The three magical beasts' aura exploded, sending out an almost palpable magic wave that forced everyone within a radius of a hundred meters to take a few steps back.

Nahir and his group, sensing the ominous aura from the direction of the three magical beasts, instantly paled.

The truth was that Nahir wanted to target the three before and cast lethargy on them before they released their aura. That was the only way he thought of to ensure they could at least fight them or keep them busy while the rest of the Eidums dealt with the other enemies.

However, the magical beasts had already unleashed their aura before they could even get near. This meant the former three's defenses and magic outputs had doubled, or even tripled, and would likely give Nahir and his group a hard time.

'Who are you kidding?' Nahir asked himself disdainfully. 'Even the Nobles' elites would have sacrificed several of their powerful mages just to kill one magical beast. What can our people, whose strength lies in support magic, do against three?'

Just thinking about it already robbed Nahir of any hope. Nevertheless, he did not show this. With the news about his father's abduction, the Eidums looked to him for strength. He could not show them any weakness at such trying times. Even though he knew his father was not really in danger, and even now, the older man was at their border, observing the battle and ready to step in.

'Maybe I should not have been stubborn and asked Nar to also stand by.'

Nahir immediately dismissed the thought that crossed his mind. He could not allow such thoughts to distract him and make him feel worse. He had to get a grip and follow through with their plan. If anything else, he was willing to risk his life to take down one of the three magical beasts.

"Forward!" Nahir shouted, and the Eidums with him, who started to feel helpless with their situation, received a boost in confidence.

Though their situation was dire, as long as their leader had not given up, why should they?

"KILL!" Gidan also shouted a battle cry and raised his hand. He summoned his Divine Armament, which was a huge double-faced silver axe, and swung it toward the horde before them.

RAWRGH!

The beasts in their path roared at them with claws ready to pounce and maws wide open ready to bite.

A silver light flashed from the blade of Gidan's axe and struck several beasts before him, resulting in them receiving a huge gash on their chest.

RAWRGH!

The beasts cried out in pain. However, their cry was short-lived as a burst of fire pillar emerged from the ground where they stood, incinerating them in an instant.

Gidan turned slightly to look at Nahir, who had cast that fire pillar. He gave a short nod of appreciation before advancing again.

Nahir did not react. Or, to be precise, he could not because he had to focus all his attention on assisting the rest of his group members.

All of them were engaged in a battle with a beast or two. And so far, they could hold their own because they managed to weaken them with spells before engaging. Nevertheless, taking down one beast would still take them a few minutes. For this reason, Nahir cast offensive fire magic to assist them.
