Lady Cultivator

2. Strange incidents in the ancestral hall

After going back to cook at noon, Mo Tiange came to the ancestral hall again.

In the morning, the old master taught all the children in the clan to read and write, but in the afternoon only the children with high hopes came.

Since Mo Tiange is a daughter, she can't pass the exam, and it's not convenient to go to the town to find a job. Originally, she doesn't need to learn much, but the old master respects her father's knowledge very much, so she treats her differently. In addition, her mother also felt that her father was very knowledgeable, so she should also study more, instead of wasting time on her parents' shortcomings like ordinary village girls.

The schoolwork in the afternoon is much more casual than in the morning. Five or six children either read and practice calligraphy by themselves, or are taught by the old master alone.

Mo Tiange came in, saluted the teacher as a student, and entered the library.

The Mo family is not a big family, the ancestral hall only has a lobby, a courtyard and east and west wing rooms. The hall is dedicated to the spirits of the ancestors of the past dynasties. The backyard is the place where the new year’s family eats ancestral wine. The first half of the east wing is converted into a school, and the second half is a library. There are a few widowed and lonely old people living in the west wing, and they guard the ancestral hall on weekdays.

The library is not big. There are six bookshelves against the wall, and there are thousands of books in total, which have been handed down from generation to generation by the Mo family.

Mo Tiange pulled a stool to the east. The books on this shelf are all travel notes and gossip. They are written in popular words and have many pictures. They are suitable for a child like her who has just started school.

She likes to read these miscellaneous books. The old master didn't say anything. As a woman, she can't take scientific examinations, so it doesn't matter what books she reads.

Mo Tiange picked out a book, found another Da Jin Dictionary and put it beside him, and sat by the window to read it.

This book is called Slightly Wen of Tianji. It is said that the world is so big that there are countless lands and oceans, and the place where they are located is called Tianji. The sky is extremely large, including the Jin Kingdom and dozens of other large and small countries. There are vast forests in the northeast, deserts in the west, uninhabited deserts, glaciers in the north, and mountains in the south.

This book records the strange stories of Tianji.

According to legend, at the southern end of the pole of heaven lies a mountain range, known as Kunwu. Kunwu stretches for thousands of miles, with continuous peaks and ridges, from east to west, no one has been able to pass since ancient times. Ordinary people who are not far from the mountains can occasionally see purple clouds in the mountains, with colorful flashes. When they go into the mountains to find them, they will get lost in the clouds and mists. Only by turning around can they find the way out.

Gradually, people said that this mountain is a fairy mountain, and only immortals can enter it.

The immortals living on Kunwu Mountain suck cloud dew in the morning, eat moon essence in the evening, go to heaven and earth, and are omnipotent. If they find someone with spiritual roots in the mortal world, they will bring them back to the fairy mountain to practice, and if they achieve great success, they will become immortals. Once you become a fairy, you can turn your hands into clouds and your hands into rain, step on the clouds to travel thousands of miles, move mountains and seas into the sky, and live forever.

People in the world all hope to enter the fairy mountains and cultivate fairy bones, but it is a pity that spiritual roots are hard to find. Most people have only heard of immortals in legends.

There is a story in this book. In ancient times, a monarch of the Chu State loved Taoism and wanted to become an immortal. He summoned Taoists from all over the world to Kyoto to find someone with profound practice to worship him as a national teacher. When Taoists from all over the country were trying Taoism, a dirty beggar walked into the Taoist hall and said, You are worthy of carrying shoes with me. The Taoists were furious, but the beggar laughed loudly. A deep pool suddenly appeared in the center, and with another wave of hand, the deep pool disappeared but a fire was ignited. Everyone present was shocked, the king of Chu wanted to become a national teacher, but the beggar flew away in the dust and disappeared suddenly.

It is also recorded that there was a scholar in the state of Liang, who was from a poor family, studied hard, and finally won the number one scholar. However, he offended the dignitaries of the dynasty at the Qionglin Banquet and was sent to manage the Zangshu Pavilion of the Imperial Academy. The majestic number one scholar just nested in the Zangshu Pavilion for ten years, with no bright future, but ten years later, the number one scholar realized the Tao overnight because he found the immortal method in the Zangshu Pavilion. The dignitary who offended that year was terrified when he heard about it, but Zhuangyuan Lang laughed it off and left with the wind.

Mo Tiange was watching with great interest, when suddenly someone stood in front of her, Mo Tiange raised his head,

Quickly closed the book and stood up: Master.

The old master nodded, took the book in her hand, flipped through a few pages, and asked, Do you know all of them?

Mo Tiange replied: I don't know some characters, so I will look them up in the dictionary. If I can't find them, I will write them down. I will ask my master next time.

The old master handed the book to her: Okay, reading more books is the best way to learn characters, you can continue.

Yes, Master.

As the sun was setting, Mo Tiange put the books back on the shelf and went out to clean the school.

The other children have already gone back, and the old master has also gone to eat in the back hall, and she is the only one in the front hall.

After wiping the table, sweeping the floor, and going to take out the trash, she stopped for a moment when she passed the back door of the lobby.

Inside, there seemed to be light.

After looking at it for a while, she put down the dustpan and moved closer.

Women are not allowed to enter the ancestral hall, even if a son-in-law is recruited, the husband must enter the ancestral hall. Therefore, Mo Tiange has never entered the hall where the spiritual seat is placed.

At this time, the door of the lobby was closed, and the hazy thing looked like light and smoke, so I couldn't see clearly. She looked around and found no one around. She hesitated for a while, but couldn't bear it anymore, put the dustpan aside, and sneaked in.

The lobby is very high and the door is closed. The whole house is pitch black, only the faint light coming in from the window panes and the light from the back door.

She approached cautiously, and found that the light seemed to come from the uppermost spiritual place.

Rows of spiritual seats are placed in the lobby, there are forty or fifty, and even the walls on both sides are full, which looks extremely terrifying.

Mo Tiange flinched a little, but as soon as she came in, the light became brighter.

Unable to control her curiosity, she looked up and found that there was only one spirit seat on the highest floor.

The spirit seat is all white, like jade, and there is a statue of Daojun carved from white jade in my grandfather's house. But this spiritual position is whiter in color, and there seems to be a mist-like white gas floating on it.

Mo Tiange looked around, moved a chair from a corner and put it next to the spiritual position, stepped on it, and it was just high enough. She carefully reached out her hand to grab the spiritual tablet.

She was short and leaned almost half of her body on the table to get the spirit tablet.

It was a little cold, and the white air permeated her hand, which could already be seen clearly.

Mo Tiange turned over the spiritual tablet, and saw that there were five words on it: the seat of Mo Yaoqing. There is only one name and it is different from the others.

The white gas became thicker and thicker, and even began to flood her body. She stared at the spirit position and found that the white light was getting brighter and brighter. The light was just white at first, but it gradually became bright and shiny. Seeing such a miraculous thing, she couldn't help but widen her eyes.

The light suddenly flashed, and it suddenly sank into the center of her eyebrows. She was startled, her eyes suddenly lost focus, then she closed her eyes slowly, and fell off the chair.
