Marvel's Return of the Inventor

102. Seize the day and night

In mid-February, the "First China University Student Entrepreneurship Competition" initiated by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Science Association, the National Federation of Students, and provincial and regional governments began to build momentum on a large scale.

The theme of the competition is "Science and Technology First" and the slogan is "Science is endless, search from top to bottom".

This competition implements a three-level competition system of school, province, competition area and national level.

The first level is the first-level preliminary review within the school.

It is conducted independently by each school. In order to stimulate the enthusiasm of college students to start a business, the quota limit is very loose.

Team members like Ding Sheng are not from the same school, so they can freely choose the representative school among the schools where the team members belong.

It is expected that more than 50 teams from each school will advance to the next round;

The second level, the second level preliminary examination in the province.

Reviewed by the review committees of each province, municipality and region, starting from this round, the review team will focus more on the work itself. 75 of the teams that passed the first round will stop here;

The third level, competition area review.

Each school has a total of five competition areas across the country: East, West, South, North, and Central, hosted by Shanghai Stock Exchange, Jinguan City, Huacheng, and Huadu City respectively. The review is extremely strict, and only 4 teams can pass.

Level 4, final nationwide review.

The final review of the first Huaxia College Student Entrepreneurship Competition will be held at Huaqing University in Huadu City, where teams that have passed the review will compete for the championship.

The final judging panel is composed of experts and professors from various natural disciplines across the country. In addition to selecting a champion, there are also 1 first prize, 5 second prizes and 10 third prizes.

From the registration deadline, all participating teams have ten days to submit their business plans and enter the preliminary review stage.

Ding Sheng had already prepared a business plan, but if he didn't build a team as soon as possible, he wouldn't even be qualified to sign up.

"Meng Xiao, I would like to invite you to join me in the China College Student Entrepreneurship Competition in March."

After getting through the phone call, Ding Sheng didn't say a word nonsense.

"This competition is not suitable for me."

Meng Xiao has also heard about the news about this competition, but she is really not interested in the theme of technology first. At the same time, so far, she has no interest in starting a business.

If the caller hadn't been Ding Sheng, she would have rejected the call without saying anything about whether it was suitable or not.

"Let me get it straight. The competition stipulates that the participating teams must be at least two people. I just want to ask you to help me gather the number of people. You can just go through the motions." Ding Sheng explained.

"Uh... well then."

If it was just a matter of numbers, Meng Xiao would be more accepting.

And she would definitely be willing to help Ding Sheng.

"Thanks."

Then, Ding Sheng found another number in his address book and called it. He quickly communicated with the person on the other end of the phone and got a satisfactory result.

Not long after, a new phone call came in, with a rather unkind tone.

"You have grown up, how dare you set a trap for your instructor?"

Hey...what are you doing? My signal here is not good. What are you talking about?

Of course, Ding Sheng couldn't say the above sentence. Whoever wants to say it can say it. Anyway, he said this, "No, no, I am afraid that I won't be able to invite you. You know, you are my boss in China." The only mentor at HKUST.”

only.

What touching words.

Ding Sheng didn't have a deep friendship with Xu Wutong. He knew it. If he called her directly to ask her to be a nominal tutor, he would probably be rejected.

Ding Sheng had experienced the feeling of rejection too many times in his first two years at Marvel, so he was a little clever this time and bypassed Xu Wutong and called Li Chunbai first.

Li Chunbai was completely satisfied with Ding Sheng. When he heard that he was going to participate in the competition, he was even more encouraged. He also said that if he needed any help, just ask the school.

Then Ding Sheng must have been rude and asked Li Chunbai for someone.

The president of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the dean of the graduate school, and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, naturally made his words come out of nowhere.

Xu Wutong was framed by Ding Sheng.

"Don't worry, it's just in name, it won't take up too much of your time." Ding Sheng added.

beep...

The other party hung up directly.

"If you say no, you want it. If you don't refuse, you agree. This is what a woman is."

Ding Sheng thought like this and asked Guan Ju to start filling out the registration form.

Participating team: Spacetime Technology Co., Ltd.

Team members: Instructor, Xu Wutong, Huake University; Members, Ding Sheng, Huake University, Meng Xiao, Huaqing University

Representative institution: University of Chinese Academy of Sciences

......

That evening, Ding Sheng handed over an article titled "On the Improvement and Impact of New Microprocessor Programmable Logic Controllers on Global Industry" to Yang Huaigu.

He also needs to build momentum for himself in advance, so it would be best if this paper could be published in Science Weekly and Nature magazine immediately.

However, there are so many people around the world submitting manuscripts to these two major scientific magazines. Ding Sheng is not afraid that his paper will be dusted. After all, his paper can change the world.

He is mainly worried about following the formal procedures and catching up with bad times.

But it's different for a scientific expert like Yang Huaigu. Regardless of whether he has friendships with the editors-in-chief of two major magazines, it shouldn't be a problem to join the team.

"Ding Sheng, you really wrote the paper here."

After Yang Huaigu read Ding Sheng's paper, he was stunned. He could not imagine that this paper was written by a nineteen-year-old graduate student.

But he knew in his heart why it couldn't be Ding Sheng.

This topic, which vows to push China's industry to the world level and compete with global monopoly giants in technology, is indeed something only young people who are not afraid of tigers can have the courage to think about.

And Ding Sheng not only thought about it, but also came up with a theoretical plan.

"Yes."

Ding Sheng nodded solemnly.

This competition is an excellent platform. Ding Sheng's goal is simple, to be in the limelight, win the championship, become famous, and plant the seeds that this kid is very strong in everyone's hearts.

In the future, there will be fewer doubts about the development of space-time technology.

Therefore, from this moment on, he must show his talents in microprocessors and programmable logic controllers.

"Your paper is very detailed. Tomorrow I will let... no, no, no, just tonight, I will hold a meeting tonight. Those old men in Huadu will not be able to get through it for the time being, but the No. 44 Institute Experts in relevant fields can come.

As long as we implement the feasibility of this new controller and vigorously develop it, within two years, China’s intelligent machinery operation and control field will no longer be constrained by others, move to the forefront of the world, and even become an industrial leader.”

The more Yang Huaigu talked, the more excited he became. He was a top authority in this field, otherwise he would not be stationed in a mechanical engineering laboratory with the development prospects of mechanical engineering and applied science.

"And you, Ding Sheng, are the light of China."

This was the first time in Yang Huaigu's life that he praised someone like this.

"Inappropriate." Ding Sheng replied.

"You... are not willing to make this technology public. You have to know that without the support of national power, you can rely on your own efforts. I'm afraid..." Yang Huaigu didn't say the next words, but Ding Sheng should understand.

"What I mean is that there is no need to hold seminars and there is no need to form a research and development team, because I have already made samples of the new processor programmable logic controller."

When Yang Huaigu heard this, he jumped up from his seat.

"Two years is too long, seize the day."
