Dali Temple.

The carriage traveled for about half an hour.

"Madam, we're here at the Dali Temple...!" said the coachman Chang Qing.

Song Shu lifted the curtain and slowly got out of the carriage with the help of Wang Chun.

Dali Temple. The last time he came it was his father, and this time it was his beloved one.

The Dali Temple of Tiansheng Kingdom is located in the heart of the capital. Its architectural style is simple and solemn, yet it retains the royal style. It is a symbol of Tiansheng’s judicial institution.

At this time, there is still a little bit of sun in the sky.

The sunlight shines through the sparse clouds and gently falls on the upturned eaves of the Dali Temple. The golden light and the gray rubble complement each other, as if every brick and tile contains the majesty of the law.

The gate is majestic and is carved from thick solid wood. The lintel is carved with intricate cloud and dragon patterns, which are lifelike and demonstrate the royal dignity and inviolability.

The stone lions on both sides stand majestically with sharp eyes, as if they are always guarding this land of justice, making it difficult for any evildoers to cross the line.

Song Shu came to the gate and saluted the guards: "Hello, sir. I am here to bring food to Lord Gu. I hope you two sirs will give me some convenience."

Wang Chun stepped forward and gave each of the two gatekeepers a piece of silver.

A guard smiled and said, "I guess you are Madam Song! Lord Shangguan has instructed that if you come, you can just go in directly...!"

Song Shu nodded: "Thank you, sir...!"

Crossing the threshold, there is a spacious front yard. On both sides of the stone path, there are lush pines and cypresses that are evergreen all year round, adding a bit of vitality and tranquility to this solemn place.

The main building of Dali Temple is well-arranged and has a rigorous layout. The central lobby is soaring and it is the place where important cases are tried.

The hall is brightly lit, with a desk in the center on which are placed the four treasures of the study and a scale symbolizing justice. On both sides are neatly arranged chairs for officials to sit on when hearing cases.

On the four walls are hung calligraphy works by famous calligraphers of all ages, some vigorous and powerful, others gentle and delicate, and between the lines they reveal their persistent pursuit of justice and awe of the law.

Passing through the lobby, there is a winding corridor with various lanterns hung in the corridor. When night falls, the lights are bright, adding a bit of warmth and mystery to this ancient building.

On both sides of the corridor, there are various rooms and storehouses used to store case files, evidence and the daily lives of officials. Every detail reveals the rigor and meticulousness of the Tiansheng judicial system.

There are also prison cells in the Dali Temple in Tiansheng, and the criminals are detained in the Dali Temple until the case is solved.

After the truth was revealed, he was transferred to the prison cell of the Ministry of Justice, awaiting beheading.

“Mrs. Song…!”

Suddenly a voice came.

Song Shu raised her eyes and said, "Song Shu greets Lord Shangguan...!"

Shangguan Qing was the Minister of Dali Temple.

Shangguan Qing smiled: "Mrs. Song, there is no need to be so polite...! I guess Mrs. Song is here to visit Brother Gu!"

Song Shu nodded: "Hmm...! Lord Shangguan, Jing An will definitely not embezzle disaster relief funds."

"Mrs. Song, don't worry. I have always believed in Brother Gu. The emperor has ordered me to investigate this matter thoroughly. I will definitely find out the truth and clear Brother Gu's name." Shangguan Qing said with a sharp gaze.

Hearing this, Song Shu burst into tears of gratitude: "Thank you, Lord Shangguan, for believing in Jing'an. Thank you, Lord Shangguan."

"Xiao Zhang, take Madam Song to see Lord Gu...!" Shangguan Qing glanced at his subordinates behind him.

The subordinate nodded: "Yes, sir...!"

"Mrs. Song, this way please...!"

Song Shu: “Trouble…!”

...............

Soon Song Shu arrived at the cell.

Inside the cell, the air seemed to be frozen, with dampness and musty smells intertwined, corroding every inch of the corner.

The four walls are made of thick bluestone. After years of erosion, the surface has become mottled, as if every inch of the stone cracks are hidden with the sighs and despair of past prisoners.

The prison door was made of heavy iron, covered with rust from the years. The door hinges made a dull and harsh creaking sound when they turned, which was particularly harsh in this silent space, as if it was a warning to those who were about to step in.

Behind the door is a narrow corridor with closely connected cells on both sides. Each cell can only accommodate one person. Light can hardly penetrate the airtight iron bars, making the interior even darker and more depressing.

After the door was opened, the prisoners' shouting could be heard from inside the cell.

"My lord, you are wronged!"

“It’s unfair…!”

"Let me out now...!"

Song Shu looked into the cell.

Some of the prisoners were sitting, and some were lying.

Their eyes are empty and desperate!

Looking at these people, Song Shu couldn't help but feel nervous.

Jing An...!

Xiao Zhang said, "Mrs. Song, don't be nervous. Most of the people here are waiting to be transferred to the Ministry of Justice. This is not where Lord Gu is."

Song Shu nodded: "Okay...!"

After about an incense stick of time, Song Shu, led by Xiao Zhang, arrived at a relatively spacious place.

Although it was also a prison cell, one room at a time, it was much better than the place we just passed by.

Song Shu saw the handsome man at first sight.

“Jing An…!”

Hearing the familiar voice, Gu Jingan opened his eyes: "A Shu...?"

"Why are you here?"

Xiao Zhang opened the door of the cell: "Mrs. Song, Mr. Gu, take your time to talk...!"

"Jing'an...!" Song Shu hurried into the cell and held Gu Jing'an's hands: "Jing'an, are you okay?"

Gu Jingan shook his head: "Ashu, I'm fine. The air here is humid and you are not in good health. You shouldn't come here."

"Jing'an...!" Song Shu buried her head in Gu Jing'an's chest and hugged him tightly: "Jing'an, I'm worried about you...!"

Gu Jingan hugged the person in his arms tightly: "Ah Shu, I'm fine, I'm sorry...! I made you worry...!"

"Jing'an, what is going on?" Song Shu lowered her eyes.

"Ah Shu, I really didn't embezzle the disaster relief funds...!" Gu Jing'an looked straight at the person in front of him.

His hands were clenched tightly due to nervousness.

Ah Shu, will you believe me?

Song Shu smiled and said, "Jing An, I believe you...!"

When Gu Jing'an heard this, the tense expression on his face relaxed.

"Ashu, thank you for believing in me."

"Jing'an, we grew up together. Don't I know what kind of person you are?" Song Shu asked, "Jing'an, what's going on with Uncle Zhong?"

Gu Jingan shook his head, looking frustrated: "I don't know much about this either. I also know nothing about the disaster relief money in the basement."

"Ah Shu, the other party wants to kill me. There are witnesses and evidence. I'm afraid this time...!"

"Jing'an...!" Song Shu reached out and covered Gu Jing'an's mouth: "You will be fine."

"You must be hungry! I cooked for you myself, come and try it...!"
