The Low-Key Life of a Necromancer

Chapter 134 Returning from a business trip

Theresa walked through the portal and left. Lee had already woken up from his sleep and was no longer sleepy.

In the slightly sultry evening breeze, Li Jingjing stared at the place where the portal disappeared.

Until now, when he had only a moment of quiet reflection, Li had the leisure to slowly sum up what had happened recently.

Even though Li has the experience and brains of two worlds, he is still one person.

Human energy is limited. Although he appears to be able to handle things with ease, Li is actually always worried that he might accidentally mess up.

Fortunately, back home, Li can take a breath and relax.

"…Recently, things around me seem to be getting weirder and weirder. Partner, do you have anything to say?"

Li glanced at the magic book on the bedside table. He didn't know since when, the magic book, which was originally as cheerful as a pet, gradually became quiet and lifeless.

Li found that he hadn't heard the chatter of the magic book for a long time.

Li doesn't know much about this ancient Book of the Dead. He knows its origin and some ancient secrets.

But Li couldn't understand the life form of the magic book, and he wasn't even sure whether he was a living creature.

The magic book did not respond to Li's call. It was from the moment the magic book stopped moving that Li slowly noticed something unusual.

For example, the magic car that was supposed to be parked in the open space outside is still parked there, but it is a luxuriously decorated classic carriage with the Freyr family emblem on it.

The new car that Carton mortgaged to Li disappeared, and without anyone noticing, it became an antique.

Besides this, there are more strange things happening.

Some advanced equipment and concepts seem to be regressing rapidly.

Li didn't tell anyone about this because people around him didn't notice the changes, and Li was not sure what consequences would be caused by pointing out the changes.

Li Ke remembers quite a few film and television works from Earth.

When everyone else is drunk and I am the only one sober, if I arbitrarily break the status quo, I may end up being the enemy of the whole world.

It's like throwing a piece of meat into a zombie swarm...

Li Gang drove the strange metaphor out of his mind, and saw that the room opposite, which had been dark not long ago, suddenly opened and a hand stretched out.

Lilith held the teleportation staff in her hand and waved it lazily, reopening the previously closed space passage.

A figure stepped out of the portal cautiously, and then as expected, fell directly from mid-air.

The door that Lilith opened was outside the second-floor window, so Theresa fell badly.

"Theresa, you're back."

Lilith in the opposite room had shrunk back into her room, obviously not intending to interrupt the ensuing exchange.

Li greeted Theresa who fell from the second floor, but saw Theresa busy on the ground, as if she was packing something.

"Ah, I'm back."

"You seem very busy. Did you fall and get hurt?"

At such a height on the second floor, Theresa, who is protected by the Holy Light, should not be injured.

Theresa was unharmed just as Li had expected, but the suitcase she brought with her was scattered all over the floor due to the impact.

Lee saw Teresa putting some buzzing gadgets back into the box.

Lee saw Theresa roughly close the suitcase, grab the suitcase by the handle, and walk quickly into the building.

After a while, the sound of Theresa coming upstairs rang in Li's ears. Li came back to welcome his wife who was on a business trip.

"Theresa, I thought it would take a long time for you to report back this time."

It was somewhat unexpected that Theresa came back that evening.

Li's eyes fell on the suitcase beside Theresa. Theresa brought back her luggage, which meant that she would live with him for a long time.

This is a good sign.

"Let me help you pack your luggage."

The suitcase next to Theresa was obviously broken, and from the cracks, some fabric with strange texture could be seen.

Seeing Li's eyes on the luggage, Theresa suddenly became nervous.

Theresa covered the cracked opening of the suitcase with both hands and turned her body to block Li's view.

"No need! These are some girls' stuff, it's not convenient for you to see them!"

Theresa was like a cat whose tail was stepped on, her whole body stood on end.

Li, who had originally treated it calmly, suddenly became very curious about the suitcase.

What on earth was in there that made Theresa feel like she was facing a formidable enemy?

Li's curiosity was aroused, and he reached out to grab Theresa's suitcase.

Seeing that Li was trying to snatch it, Theresa kicked Li in the stomach and threw a ball of fierce holy light at him.

Li was pushed into the corner by the continuous attacks and looked at Theresa in confusion.

"This is the second time you've murdered your husband!"

"Humph, I told you not to look at it, but you deliberately came close to me. You asked for it!"

Theresa stormed into the bedroom, lifted the bed, and put the exploded suitcase into the storage space under the bed.

As Li watched, Theresa pulled out a few more strands of her hair and placed them on the joint of the bed.

"Holy Light, you are not afraid of darkness or danger. You are always the same, as solid as a rock..."

Putting the suitcase under the bed was not enough. Theresa actually prayed towards the bed for twenty minutes and created a small holy light barrier.

Looking at the bed boards that merged together and were as solid as steel, a string of ellipsis floated over Li's head.

"No, why should you? I won't really look into your privacy."

Theresa turned her head, her face covered with a thin layer of sweat from long prayers.

"I do not believe you!"

Li was completely speechless. His wife, who shared the same bed with him, did not believe him...

In fact, Li didn't believe in himself either.

If Li was given a chance, he would definitely find a way to pry open this barrier and take a closer look at what good things Theresa had hidden.

From Theresa's shy yet excited behavior, Li determined that the suitcase probably did not contain anything as horrible as the fragments of the people.

There should be some interesting things inside, but unfortunately Theresa doesn't let me see it.

Oh, it's so annoying and heart-wrenching!

"Well, it will be dawn soon, Theresa, let's get some rest first."

My wife is already home, and neither of us is sleepy.

This is a romantic opportunity for Li.

However, just as Lee was about to take Theresa to lie down on the newly reinforced bed, they both stopped at the same time.

The faint noise outside the building interrupted their good mood.

"It seems like something is moving outside..."

"Sounds like some unexpected visitors."

Lee and Theresa stood up at the same time and put their heads together at the window.

Through the reflective glass, the two of them saw what was happening next door.

Several dark shadows were surrounding Lilith's family's new house. One of them was fiddling with the door, apparently trying to pick the lock.

Li opened the window and shouted loudly to the outside.

"Lilith, there's a thief in your house!"
