The Low-Key Life of a Necromancer

Chapter 10: The Vampire's Confession

I'm Lilith, a young vampire who has lost everything.

In my previous life, I lived in the open air and wandered around.

"At first, I traveled around with my parents. My father was a bard and my mother was a musician. I loved seeing my parents perform on stage. They were so glamorous."

Lilith licked the blood on Li's neck and told him about her miserable life.

"Because I've been traveling with my parents, I don't have any friends of my own age, but I don't care. As long as I have my parents, I'm happy enough."

Lilith has no fixed place to live and has no home of her own. Wherever her parents go, that is her home.

"I thought my life would continue like this until one day, I discovered something weird."

Lilith gradually discovered that after her parents performed in a place, some important people in that place would die.

And after the news spreads, my parents will take me away from this place quickly.

"I began to speculate in my mind that my parents might be killers who specialized in murders, but the truth was more evil than I thought."

Lilith, who has grown up, has not lived with her parents for a long time.

Every time they stayed in a hotel, her parents had one room and Lilith had one room by herself.

"By chance, I pushed open my parents' door and saw them having a candlelight dinner. My mother's lips shone with an alluring color, and so did my father's. It was ridiculous that I even complained that my parents ignored me and wanted to join this warm dinner, and then..."

Then Lilith vomited all over the floor.

Under the warm candlelight, there were pieces of meat with uncoagulated blood in the bowls and plates, and the drinks in the two goblets were Type B and Type O respectively.

Without the need for her parents to introduce or others to guide her, Lilith could confirm the brand of the wine just by taking a look and smelling the wafting aroma.

An instinct stimulated Lilith to pounce on the table.

However, the experience of being born as a human taught Lilith that her parents were monsters.

"My father gently calmed me down and told me that this was a necessary ritual for the family to grow up. As long as I get used to it, I won't find it scary anymore, but will enjoy it all. I can't do that."

Because Lilith's parents did not spend special energy on their daughter, Lilith has always accepted human habits.

While her parents performed, Lilith played with children from the street and church.

Lilith never thought that one day, those acquaintances would be served on a plate.

Parents are monsters, demons!

"My accusations caused my mother's dissatisfaction. She thought I was a hypocritical child and even regretted giving birth to me. My father would comfort me more, but that was all."

After drinking her fill, Lilith curled up in Li's arms.

"Since then, every time they go out, they bring me some local delicacies when they come back. I can't accept it, and they are disappointed again and again."

Lilith was lost in her parents' repeated disappointments. She didn't know who she was or what she should do to regain her parents' expectations.

Do I really have to eat those bloody things and become an inhuman vampire...

"I started locking myself in my room, not going anywhere, just waiting for my parents to come back. Every time we moved, I stayed in the car and said nothing."

Lilith became autistic. She chose to close her heart due to conflicting values.

until that day.

"My parents never came back. For several days, I almost starved to death in the hotel. That day, I tore a rat into pieces."

Lilith told Li about her past. She looked at Li's face with hazy eyes, but found that Li had fallen asleep.

"No, I told you something so important and you didn't listen! Aren't you wasting my feelings?"

Lilith was angry and was about to bite someone again, but was stopped by a strange feeling at her feet.

Lilith looked down and saw that the magic book transformed into two skeleton claws, one claw was holding a watermelon, and the other claw was pulling Lilith.

"You're just a pet, don't disturb me communicating with Li."

"Vampire girl, Li is in shock from blood loss. It's no use shaking him."

"He's in shock! Oh my god! Why don't you save him right away?"

Lilith didn't expect that she took a few more puffs out of impulse and knocked Li unconscious.

"That's not right. He's not a necromancer. Can he resist my bloodsucking?"

The magic book looked at Lilith speechlessly.

"He didn't use magic to resist you this time."

Lilith was startled and looked seriously at Li's bloodless face.

Lilith's heart was beating wildly. She didn't expect Li Zhen would let her vent. Lilith hadn't felt such pampering for a long time.

Just when Lilith was deeply moved, the magic book pulled Lilith's shoes again.

"This brat can't die. Please continue. I haven't finished my story yet~"

The magic book raised the watermelon in his hand, and seeing that Lilith was interested, the magic book shared a piece with her.

"Wow~ This melon is so sweet, why haven't I eaten it before!"

"This is a plant that Li created using necromancy, mixing gourds and pumpkins. It only grows in the backyard."

Lilith's eyes lit up, she didn't expect that necromancy could be used in this way!

Lilith originally wanted to leave immediately, but because of the sweet watermelon, she decided to stay.

"Where did I just say that?"

"mouse."

"Oh yeah, that was the first time I lost control and ate a rat. I was so sick that I didn't know what to do. I pushed open the door in a daze and wanted to wash the dirt off my face in the sink, but the hotel owner suddenly found me and threw me a letter from my parents."

"What did the letter say?"

"…The letter said that if I received the letter, then they must have died, died on a mission. There was a robe of the Secret Order in the luggage left by my parents. That was the first time I learned that my parents were high-ranking members of the Secret Order."

"To be specific, the letter is definitely not that simple."

Lilith felt a little embarrassed under the urging of the magic book.

She seldom spoke anymore, and she said so much today, all because Li was too gentle.

I wanted to tell Li directly, but now Li is unconscious...

Hey, it seems better if he is unconscious, then I won’t have to embarrass myself in front of him!

"The letter said that they wanted me to be happy and that if I couldn't accept that I was a vampire, I could go to the address above for help."

"This address must be my home."

Lilith was happily eating watermelon and sharing her story with the magic book.

Unexpectedly, the pillow behind her suddenly made a sound, and Lilith was so scared that she threw the watermelon away.

"You, you are in shock!"

Lilith's pupils trembled and she pointed at Li who had woken up.

"Yeah, but I'm awake now."

Magic Book gave Li a piece of watermelon, and the two partners ate the watermelon together, enjoying the funny look of Lilith being attacked and broken.

Realizing that she had been tricked, Lilith turned away angrily and squatted in the corner, drawing circles.

"Hey, cousin, since you already have my address, why didn't you come over earlier?"

"None of your business, bastard!"
