Harry Potter: Impossibly Cute

Chapter 21 Professor Snape's Birthday

When the two left the attic, Harry still looked dazed.

Ling Bai reached out and held Harry's hand.

"Harry, please don't think too much. Your parents must also want you to live a good life instead of indulging in grief."

Harry hugged Ling Bai tightly.

"Ling Bai, thank you. I've wanted to say this since I first saw you. Thank you for appearing in my world. You're right. Now I have you, Ron and Hermione, and the teachers who have always taken good care of me. I have a lot more than before, and I'm very satisfied now."

A breeze blew away the cold wind and snow. The snow gradually melted, and we took off our heavy coats and everyone put on spring school uniforms.

Ling Bai was in Snape's office. He was already familiar with every corner of Snape's office.

Snape's office was all dark black and grey, save for a very pretty emerald green plant on his windowsill.

It is planted in a sky blue pot. If you look closely, you can see beautiful patterns painted on the pot.

This didn't look like something that would appear in Snape's room at all.

The plant was very small and ordinary, and if you looked closely you could see a few red fruits dotted on it.

It is not any special herb, just an ordinary ornamental plant, but you can tell from its appearance that it is well cared for.

Ling Bai's gaze fell on the plant and his eyebrows curved.

This was the Christmas gift Ling Bai gave to Snape. Although Snape never mentioned it, it was obvious that he took it to heart.

"professor"

Snape, who was marking students' homework, raised his head. Although his face was stern, there was no impatience in his eyes.

Snape had eaten all the pills in the porcelain bottle.

So his skin became much better, his wrinkles disappeared, and he looked ten years younger.

This is what he looks like at his current age.

"Professor, I have something to do tonight, so I may not be able to come to the office to deal with the herbs."

Snape frowned and paused for several seconds before humming.

A sly smile flashed in Ling Bai's eyes.

"Then I'll be leaving first, Professor."

Without waiting for Snape to finish, he turned and left.

The office fell into a cold and quiet atmosphere again. Snape stopped writing and looked at the plant on the windowsill.

Night fell and Snape stood by the window. The Slytherin common rooms were all underground, so as the head of Slytherin House, his office was also underground.

So when he looked outside, he actually couldn't see anything.

Snape touched the leaves of the grass and felt that the office was empty.

Plop! Snape looked at the ink that he had knocked over. The ink fell on his black robe. Snape looked at it in a daze.

So he didn't notice the door that was quietly opened.

The already dim lights in the room suddenly went out.

Snape sat up suddenly from his chair, looked around vigilantly, holding his wand tightly in his hand.

With a crackle, the match struck the matchbox and a flame ignited.

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you"

The young boy's soft voice sounded, and as the candles were lit, the lounge, which had been cold just now, was instantly filled with warmth.

Snape stared blankly at the boy who was pushing a cart towards him.

There was a simple and plain cake on the car. There was nothing special about it. It was just an ordinary cream cake with candles on it.

But Snape felt his nose sour.

"Happy Birthday, Professor"

A bright smile appeared in Snape's sight.

"You...can't come because of something?"

Snape opened his mouth, and then he realized that his voice was dry and hoarse, with a barely noticeable choke.

"Oh, Professor, I said that on purpose. Otherwise, it wouldn't be a surprise."

Snape looked at the cake, then at Ling Bai, and suddenly reached out his hand.

The rough fingertips rubbed against the delicate skin, and Ling Bai felt his face a little itchy.

“You did this yourself.”

"Professor, how did you know that?"

“Flour is stuck to my face”

"Ah, anything else?"

Ling Bai quickly wiped his face with his sleeve.

"Stupid, you can get a cake all over your face"

"Okay, professor, make a wish and blow out the candles."

Snape looked at the still lit candle and slowly closed his eyes.

Huh, the flame of the candle is so small that it can be blown out by a little wind, but the flame that ignites the heart can never be extinguished.

"Congratulations, Professor, for turning one year older. Here's a happy birthday."

The lights came on and a box was stuffed into Snape's arms.

"Don't even think you can bribe me like this. If your final assignment is not up to standard, I will not show any mercy."

"Okay, okay, I understand, professor. Open it and take a look."

Snape opened the box and inside was a night light with a cloud-shaped night light squinting its eyes.

When turned on, it emits a faint warm yellow light and sprays out fine water mist.

"The professor obviously doesn't like the night, so why does he always sleep with the lights off? It must be too glaring, so I bought him a night light. Don't underestimate this night light."

Ling Bai reached out and patted Xiao Yunduo on the back, and Xiao Yunduo suddenly spoke.

A familiar young boy's voice sounded, humming a soft lullaby.

Snape stared at the gift in his hand for a long time without saying a word.

The young boy who had been so confident just now became a little flustered.

"Professor, don't you like this gift?"

Snape snorted and put the box on the table.

"Always think about these things, and you can guarantee that you will get an E on your homework, otherwise I will consider you a failure."

Ling Bai's face fell instantly.

"Professor, spare my life."

"It's getting late, why don't you go back and rest and wait for me to invite you back?"

Ling Bai said "oh".

"Professor, don't forget to eat the cake"

After saying that, Ling Bai left again.

Snape looked at the cake in the cart and silently picked up the fork and took a bite.

He never liked the sticky and sweet cream, but this time, he actually thought it tasted pretty good.

A few more peaceful days passed, and the day to hand in the final assignments was getting closer.

"Ling Bai"

Harry called out to Ling Bai and Draco rolled his eyes.

"Draco, you go first, I'll be there soon."

Draco reluctantly said "oh". He was now somewhat immune to the annoying Harry, but he still hated him.

"What's wrong Harry?"

"Ling Bai, can you come out at night when the lights go out? We will meet at Hagrid's cabin. There is something very important going on."

"it is good"

Ling Bai did not ask why. During this period, his relationship with Harry became closer and closer. Sometimes he would even go to Gryffindor's place to have dinner with Harry.

Of course the result was to coax Draco at night.

"Then we'll meet tonight, and don't tell anyone."

Looking at Harry's hurriedly leaving back, Ling Bai knew that he was about to see the slices of that man.
