The CEO's 100 Billion Bride: The Secret War of the Rich

Chapter 83 Survival from desperate situation

Su Wanwan sat in a moving bulletproof car, looking at the scenery passing by quickly outside the window with mixed feelings. Since the last encounter with Cheng Yuan's men, Huo Yanshen insisted on the priority of his wife's safety and arranged for her to temporarily leave the city center and go to a hidden villa in the suburbs.

"Madam, we will be there in half an hour." said the driver respectfully.

Su Wanwan nodded, and her thoughts drifted back to the conversation with Huo Yanshen before she left.

"Wanwan, remember, no matter what happens, don't trust anyone easily." Huo Yanshen held her hand, his eyes full of worry, "I will solve the problem here as soon as possible, and then come to pick you up."

"I know, you have to be careful too." Su Wanwan tried to hold back her tears, "I will take good care of myself, don't worry."

The memory came to an abrupt end, and the car suddenly braked. Before Su Wanwan could react, she heard a burst of rapid gunfire.

"Madam, get down!" the driver shouted and quickly turned the car around.

Su Wanwan's heartbeat accelerated instantly. She mechanically followed the driver's instructions while her brain raced. Could it be that their whereabouts had been exposed?

The car sped along the winding mountain road, and the sound of a pursuing engine could be heard from behind. Su Wanwan forced herself to calm down, took out her cell phone and tried to contact Huo Yanshen, but found that there was no signal at all.

"Damn it!" she cursed under her breath.

At this moment, there was a loud noise and the car shook violently, almost overturning.

"Ma'am, our tire is blown out." The driver's voice was trembling. "Don't panic, I'll try to get rid of them."

Su Wanwan took a deep breath and forced herself to think. She looked around and suddenly noticed a secret compartment under the seat. She quickly opened it and found a pistol and a satellite phone hidden inside.

"Yan Shen, have you anticipated this situation?" Su Wanwan felt a warm current in her heart, and at the same time, she became more determined to survive.

She quickly picked up the satellite phone and dialed Huo Yanshen's private number.

"Wanwan? What happened?" Huo Yanshen's voice came from the other end of the phone, with obvious anxiety.

"We were attacked and are now trying to shake off our pursuers." Su Wanwan briefly explained the situation, "Yan Shen, we may need support."

"Damn it!" Huo Yanshen growled, "Wanwan, listen to me, where are you now?"

Just as Su Wanwan was about to answer, the car shook violently again and then lost control.

"Madam, hold on tight!" the driver yelled, and the car ran off the road and rolled down the hillside.

Su Wanwan only had time to yell "Valley" before the phone was thrown away. The car rolled down the hillside and finally crashed heavily into a big tree and stopped.

In a coma, Su Wanwan vaguely heard someone calling her name, but she was too weak to respond. After an unknown amount of time, she finally opened her eyes and found herself lying in a simple cave.

"Madam, you're awake!" The driver, Xiao Li, breathed a sigh of relief. "That's great. I thought..."

"Where are we?" Su Wanwan struggled to sit up, feeling sore all over.

"We are in the mountains, ma'am. I dragged you out after the car fell off the cliff." Xiao Li explained, "It seems that the pursuers have been temporarily shaken off, but we have to leave here as soon as possible."

Su Wanwan nodded and suddenly remembered something: "Where's the satellite phone?"

Xiao Li shook his head: "I'm afraid it was lost in the car accident."

Su Wanwan bit her lip. Without communication equipment, they were like being cut off from the world. But now was not the time to feel sorry for herself. She had to find a way to contact Huo Yanshen.

"Xiao Li, do you still remember our approximate location?" Su Wanwan asked.

Xiao Li thought for a moment and said, "We should be in the southeast of Qingshan Forest Area. If I remember correctly, there is a small town about 20 kilometers northwest."

Su Wanwan stood up and patted the dust off her clothes: "Then let's go in that direction. We have to find a safe place before dark."

Just as the two were about to set off, the roar of a helicopter was heard in the distance.

"Get down quickly!" Xiao Li growled and pulled Su Wanwan to hide behind a huge rock.

The helicopter hovered in the sky for a while, seemingly searching for something. Su Wanwan's heartbeat quickened, she didn't know whether it was a friend or an enemy.

At this moment, her phone suddenly vibrated. Su Wanwan was surprised to find that there was a weak signal. She opened her phone tremblingly and found that it was an encrypted message from Huo Yanshen:

"Hold on, I'm on my way. Remember the code: Phoenix Nirvana."

Seeing this message, Su Wanwan felt a surge of strength in her heart. She knew that Huo Yanshen would definitely try his best to find her. But before that, she had to find a way to survive on her own.

"Xiao Li, we have to find a way to get some food and water." Su Wanwan whispered, "Do you have any experience in surviving in the wild?"

Xiao Li nodded: "I used to serve in the special forces. Madam, don't worry, I will protect your safety."

In this way, the two began their difficult journey of survival. During the day, they carefully walked through the mountains and forests, looking for food and water; at night, they took turns to keep watch and be alert to possible dangers.

Three days later, they finally saw the outline of the town. However, just as they were about to reach the edge of the town, a group of armed men suddenly appeared and surrounded them.

Su Wanwan's heart sank. Was her hope of escaping this going to be shattered?

At this moment, the leader spoke up: "Excuse me, are you Madam Su Wanwan? We were sent by Mr. Huo to pick you up."

Su Wanwan looked at the other person warily: "How do you prove that you were sent by Huo Yanshen?"

The leader smiled knowingly: "Phoenix Nirvana."

After hearing this code, Su Wanwan finally breathed a sigh of relief. She knew that the crisis was finally over.

After returning to the city, Huo Yanshen held his wife tightly in his arms, unwilling to let go for a long time.

"I'm sorry, Wanwan. I should have been more careful." Huo Yanshen's voice was filled with guilt.

Su Wanwan shook her head: "It's not your fault. Besides, this experience has made me realize that I need to become stronger before I can truly be your helper."

Huo Yanshen glanced at his wife, his eyes full of love and admiration: "You are already great, Wanwan. This time, it was all thanks to your calmness and wit."

Su Wanwan smiled slightly: "Then tell me. What did you do during the days I was away?"

Huo Yanshen's expression turned serious: "I found some important clues. It seems that there are other people behind Cheng Yuan's actions this time."

"Who is it?" Su Wanwan asked.

Huo Yanshen shook his head: "I'm not sure yet. But what is certain is that this person is related to the accident twenty years ago. Wanwan, I think it's time to find out the history."

Su Wanwan held her husband's hand and said firmly: "We are together. No matter what lies ahead, I will be by your side."

Huo Yanshen held his wife's hand tightly, with a hint of determination in his eyes: "Okay. Next, let's uncover this secret that has been hidden for many years."
