【New Red Mansion】Perfect World

Chapter 76: Initial discussion of cheongsam design and teaching Pin'er to appreciate Western po

Let's take a look at the cheongsam design manuscripts for the twelve months as follows:

January is "Shouyang": a long-sleeved cheongsam with a gray background, embroidered with Wumen School landscape paintings below the waist, very artistic. A light gray knitted shawl is draped over the upper body, which is very literary. Suitable for attending annual meetings and banquets.

February is the "Apricot Month": a light silver mid-sleeve cheongsam with gold embroidery all over the body: a "Phoenix Pattern" is paired with a cape with the same gold embroidery of Phoenix wings. It is suitable for wearing during the Lunar New Year and is festive and appropriate.

March is the "Peach Month": a light yellow cheongsam with peach blossoms embroidered on it is fresh and elegant. It is suitable for feeling the early spring weather, for outings, afternoon tea, and daily wear.

April is the "Plum Moon": a solid gray-blue cheongsam with distinctive gray-blue and bright yellow goldfish buttons, and a few naughty little fish embroidered on the body of the dress, which is very vivid.

May is the month of Pu: a moon-white cheongsam with a pipa collar and silver embroidery on the body, with sparkling water waves below the waist, very elegant and suitable for attending banquets.

June is "Summer": a cheongsam made of silk fabric with a gradient blue-water ink painting, with diagonal lotus embroidery on the chest and lower right lapel.

July is "Orchid Autumn": a sleeveless light blue silk cheongsam with a very simple single-line button and a butterfly playing with orchid pattern embroidered on the chest.

August is "Gui Yue": a light purple cheongsam with covered shoulders and a three-dimensional butterfly flying on the shoulder. Using three-dimensional embroidery, the butterfly looks like it has landed on the shoulder, lifelike.

September is the "Chrysanthemum Month": the brocade fabric is embroidered with orange and gold pavilion patterns. Because the embroidery on the fabric is already very complicated, only some cutting designs are made on the front.

October is "Zichun": a dark green cheongsam with a slanting collar, embroidered with large rose velvet embroidery all over the body, and a cloud shoulder sling made of pure pearls on the outside.

November is the "Month of November": a dark purple double-breasted long-sleeved cheongsam with hand-embroidered irises on the chest. The large flowers are elegant and graceful.

December is "Ice Moon": a mid-sleeved cheongsam made of Xiangyunsha, embroidered with magpies and branches, lifelike, and paired with a silver fox fur waistcoat.

After reading it, Old Lady Li actually praised it repeatedly.

"I was right. I asked you to design for me, and I chose the right person. I like everything, but the order may need to be changed. I can switch December and January. There may be more annual meetings and celebrations at the beginning of the year. I want to wear the one with magpies and branches made of saffron yarn. I can switch April and July again. Orchids are in full bloom in April, and the one with small fish in July will be more refreshing and appropriate. I can also separate the butterfly elements of July and August, otherwise the two butterfly elements will look a bit clashy.

Lin Pin'er quickly took notes in her notebook. Then the others made some changes to the details, such as the collar style, cuff style, button pattern...

By the time the discussion was almost over, it was already dark. Li Shuirong stood up and said he wanted to send Lin Pin'er back. Madam Li asked him to wait a moment, and then she took Lin Pin'er to her collection room to have a look.

The collection room is in a room next to the large living room on the first floor. Compared with this room, it is about the same size as the piano room. On both walls on the back door are floor-to-ceiling white cabinets. The color scheme is still white and blue, and the display surface of the cabinet is dark blue. Various precious porcelains seem to be placed in a dark blue sky. Turning on the spotlights of the cabinets further highlights the noble and elegant temperament of these collections.

There is a huge glass window on the wall opposite the door, and under the window are several North American black walnut dental cabinets lined up. There are also some sculptures on display and decorations on the cabinets.

Old Madam Li let Lin Pin'er admire the clothes herself first, and then she picked out clothes from various cabinets for her.

Lin Pin'er looked carefully and found some Western porcelain sculptures, candlesticks, clocks, and vases in the display cabinet. They all looked ridiculously expensive. But the artistic atmosphere displayed by these collections could not be measured by money.

Over there, Old Madam Li was shopping like she was going to a supermarket. She took out a set of tea sets from here, a pair of vases from there, and finally selected a few plates from the dental cabinet.

The china she selected was carefully carried by Lai An and the other waiters on velvet trays and finally placed on the round table in the center of the room.

Madam Li picked up a beautiful purple lace sugar bowl and introduced it to Lin Pin'er:

"This set is a modern work by Arnold Krog, the creative director of Royal Copenhagen. He is best at innovating the blue and white hand-painted series and the full lace arabesque series with lace edges.

The reason I chose this purple set is that I think this color is more girly than blue and white.

The purple full lace arabesque series was created in the late 19s. The arabesque patterns were skillfully hand-painted and delicately decorated on the glaze.

This is a special limited edition of 50 purple lace arabesques decorated with 8K gold edges to commemorate the 24th anniversary of the accession of Queen Margrethe of Denmark to the throne.

Lin Pin'er carefully observed the set of eight different shapes in front of her. The lace teapot was very similar to the vase used for flower arrangement in front, and they should have been designed by the same master.

The sugar bowl in the hands of the old lady Li is also very delicate and beautiful. The coffee cup sets and tea cup sets are placed elegantly on the round table, and there are three ornamental plates of different shapes standing next to them, plus a heavy cake plate. This set of tea sets is so beautiful that it is hard to desecrate it.

Madam Li saw that she was just looking at them and didn't dare to pick them up to admire them, so she quickly said, "These are all my collections, they are brand new. Rong'er said you were moving to a new house. I picked out some of the more girlish styles, you can keep them and use them when you entertain guests!"

Lin Pin'er immediately declined, "These are too precious. How can I dare to accept such expensive gifts? And how can your collection be used to entertain people? I think each of them is a work of art."

Madam Li said playfully and mysteriously: "You are actually helping me by accepting these. If you take these away, I will have space to ask them for new ones!"

Lin Pin'er immediately thought to herself: Why else would you call her a child? She is indeed a child at heart. It would be difficult to refuse, or it would be a disgrace to her. She could only smile and say, "Then I will keep it for grandma, and when the new house is ready, I will invite you over for tea."

"Oh, that's right! When the time comes, you can invite me and I will just happen to be able to use this new set of cups." Then he ordered Lai An and the others to quickly find the original gift box packaging. After all the porcelain was properly packed, he asked Shui Rong to send her home.
