【New Red Mansion】Perfect World

Episode 46: I was nervous at the first concert. I never draw myself.

Shui Rong saw that the little girl was having fun, and it was almost evening. So he picked up the guitar and played a piece of music he had recently practiced. The afterglow of the setting sun slanted across his fingers, casting a golden light that made his whole body sparkle.

Pin'er listened carefully and recognized that it was Stefanie Sun's "Meeting". Xiangyun had taught her to sing it before.

She hummed along softly, but the tune of the water-soluble bullet was exactly the one she could sing, so she slowly joined in the chorus.

Old Madam Li listened quietly, and then looked at their appearance, which was really a beautiful harmony. She couldn't help but sigh to herself, thinking of some past events, and tears welled up in her eyes.

Downstairs, a Hongqi car drove in. Li Hanlan got out of the car with long legs. The living room was brightly lit, but there was no sign of his grandmother. There were many gifts piled up in a corner of the living room, but he didn't look closely. He heard music coming from the piano room upstairs.

I walked upstairs quickly and stopped at the door of the piano room. I could only hear the sound of a guitar and a female voice singing softly. She sang well, and she understood music. But her voice was still a little nervous.

When the song was over, there was applause again. Grandmother said:

"Pin'er's singing voice is also very good, but she has not yet opened her mouth to sing."

"It's my first time singing, so I'm nervous," said the female voice.

"This is my first time singing alone. I heard Xiangyun teach you, so I learned this song. And I played it according to your tune." Shui Rong said.

Li Hanlan listened to a few words of the conversation inside, then did not go in to disturb them. He went straight to the study.

After a while, Lai An came in and said: Dinner is ready, please invite them to come down and eat.

Old Madam Li told them to put the zither aside for the time being, as perhaps they would play it later, and then she took the two children downstairs.

Lai An led them to the big dining room, and Madam Li hurriedly said:

"It's just the three of us eating, so let's go to a small restaurant, where the tables are small and talking is cheap."

Unexpectedly, Lai An replied with a smile:

"We were originally going to have it in the small restaurant, but the eldest young master just came back. He heard that there were distinguished guests, so he specially ordered more dishes and arranged for it to be in the big restaurant."

"Lan'er is back? That's even better." Old Madam Li walked with a smile on her face, and her pace was a little faster than before.

Pin'er secretly noticed that the rooms in the Li family were divided into different areas by colors: for example, the large living room at the beginning was white and blue; the piano room just now was in brown tones; and now there was a small hall that was decorated in green.

Sure enough, they immediately came to a huge room decorated with gold. It was no exaggeration to describe the room as magnificent. The first thing that caught their eyes upon entering the room was a moon-white screen. On the screen, a pair of golden three-dimensional dragons and phoenixes made of unknown materials surrounded a huge pearl, with the dragon on top and the phoenix on the bottom. The whole room was filled with dazzling light. The wall lamps, chandeliers, chairs and other decorations were all golden.

There was an extra-long dining table in the room. It felt like it could seat about 10 to 20 people. Madam Li sat at the main seat, Shui Rong sat next to Grandmother on her right, and Pin'er sat next to Shui Rong.

As soon as they sat down and had no time to chat, they heard a very steady sound of footsteps. Then a man who was taller and stronger than Shui Rong walked in from behind the screen.

The man had a mature and dignified face, and looked to be in his thirties or forties. His hair was neatly combed, and his eyebrows and eyes did not look much like Shui Rong. Only the position of his lips and nose showed that they were from the same family.

When he came over, he only looked at Madam Li, and sat down on the left side of Grandmother. He first asked Grandmother how she was doing today, and after Grandmother answered, he began to introduce Lin Pin'er.

"This is Shui Rong's girlfriend: Lin Pin'er. She came to see me at home today. She is a friend I invited. We just formed a small band together and rehearsed a new song..." Old Madam Li started talking incessantly when she talked about music.

He then turned to look at Pin'er beside Shui Rong. There was a smile on her face, but it was the kind of smile that was not easy to approach, and it was very superficial.

Pin'er smiled and called out: Hello, brother.

He nodded slightly and then showed a natural smile.

Then Lai An started to serve the dishes. Pin'er discovered that except for Lai An, the other waiters in their family were all young males. There was not a single female servant that afternoon.

I wonder if Zijuan has eaten yet? Pin'er was a little worried. She hadn't seen Zijuan much since she came in this afternoon.

Shui Rong seemed to have guessed what she was thinking, and whispered in her ear:

"Shifan will take Zijuan to dinner, and they also eat on time. You don't have to worry about her."

Pin'er nodded. Shui Rong gently pinched her little hand under the table again. Pin'er gave him a look that said: "Eat well!" and then took back her hand.

After dinner, Shui Rong took Pin'er to his room to play.

Shui Rong's room was in the middle of the corridor on the third floor. As soon as they entered the room, they saw a small rectangular study room. Shui Rong took her to sit in front of the desk. On the huge desk, under the paperweight was a portrait of her wearing a cheongsam.

"It's really well drawn!" This is one of the two antique cheongsams that Shui Rong tried on in the store that day. The bright red hibiscus flowers bloomed gorgeously on the lake blue background.

The cheongsam was a Beijing-style inverted large sleeve style, and the large sleeves made her slender arms stand out. Pin'er had a very retro hairstyle that day, sitting on the sofa. Shui Rong took a photo of her. In fact, Shui Rong doesn't need to copy to paint. He only needs to take a glance and imprint it in his mind to paint.

Shui Rong saw her staring at the painting and suddenly became interested, so he quickly said, "Can I teach you how to paint?"

"I can't draw." The soft voice sounded eager to try.

Shui Rong hung the painting on the table aside and laid out a piece of paper. He added water and ground the ink. He picked up a very fine brush, washed it in a green porcelain brush washer, dipped it lightly in ink, and handed it to Pin'er.

Then he put his arm around her and held her hand from behind. He started to draw on the paper. He really had a plan. Pin'er was led by him to draw. At first, she didn't know what he was going to draw. But the lines became clearer and clearer, and the more she drew, the more she saw the outline.

The woman in the painting is standing tall and graceful, holding the collar of her suit with both hands on her shoulders, with a few thin braids on her head tied into two buns, very cute and playful. The painting shows the way I put on her suit jacket after coming out of X Club that night.

"How come you can draw so well?" Pin'er asked enviously.

"You can do it too. A painting is made up of lines. You have to make the lines listen to you. Only after the draft is completed can you test the colors, light and shadow." He then added a few more strokes before putting down his pen.

"Why don't you paint yourself in it." Pin'er remembered that he was by her side that night. If he was in the painting, wouldn't it be more realistic?

"I never know how to draw myself. Once you learn how to draw myself, add me in." Shui Rong was like a teacher assigning homework.
