Chapter 205 Myrtle's Cry

Neville and Ginny hurried over, their eyes sparkling with curiosity and anticipation.

The record was like a vivid picture scroll, slowly unfolding before their eyes, depicting the chaos that the school had fallen into at that time because the secret room had been opened.

On the yellowed paper, there was an equally yellowed newspaper sandwiched between the books. The newspaper described in detail the panic of the students at the time.

Their eyes were filled with fear, as if the end of the world was coming; strange phenomena occurred frequently, and the fluctuations of magic spread wantonly on the campus, making people shudder; there were also some vague speculations about the reasons behind the scenes, and those speculations were like a cloud of fog, lingering in people's minds.

And as they continued to read, a name suddenly appeared before their eyes - Myrtle Elizabeth Warren.

"Myrtle? Elizabeth Warren..." Ginny whispered the name unconsciously, her brows slightly furrowed, as if she was trying to recall something.

Then, as if she was suddenly struck by lightning, her eyes widened and a light of sudden realization flashed in her eyes. "Isn't this the Myrtle who always cries in the bathroom?"

Ron and Neville looked at each other, and there seemed to be stars twinkling in their eyes, a light of sudden realization and surprise.

"Yes, how could we have forgotten about her! Maybe she knows a lot about the opening of the secret room."

Neville said excitedly, his voice trembling slightly with excitement, like a child about to open a happy gift box.

Ron made a prompt decision. He looked at the two men with a firm gaze and said, "Time is running out. We have to act quickly. So, I'll go find Hermione and tell her this clue. As you know, Hermione is so smart. Maybe she can analyze more useful things from this clue, which is crucial for us to solve the mystery."

"Ginny, Neville, the two of you go to the bathroom and ask Moaning Myrtle about the situation. Let's try to figure this out as quickly as possible."

Ron said as he handed the book carefully to Ginny, his eyes full of trust.

"Okay!" Ginny and Neville responded in unison. Although their voices were not loud, they were full of determination.

After saying that, several people quickly separated and acted like three arrows shot from a bow, rushing towards their respective goals.

Ron hugged the precious book tightly and hurried towards the school infirmary. His heart was beating like a drum, pounding, looking forward to Hermione's reaction after hearing this clue.

Hermione's appearance kept appearing in his mind, as if he could already see the light in Hermione's eyes, full of wisdom, after hearing the clue.

Ginny and Neville rushed to the familiar bathroom where crying sounds were often heard.

As soon as they reached the door, they heard the familiar crying sound again. They were overjoyed, proving that Myrtle was inside.

It was Myrtle who was speaking. She slowly emerged from the bathroom wall, with wisps of water vapor still on her body and wet hair sticking to her face. Her big tearful eyes looked at Ginny and Neville with a hint of confusion and dissatisfaction.

When she appeared, her body first poked out from the wall translucently, and then gradually became clear. Water was still dripping from her hands, forming a small water stain on the ground before disappearing.

"What are you two doing sneakily?" Myrtle asked with a frown. Her voice echoed in the humid space of the bathroom, with an ethereal and sad feeling. As she spoke, she tilted her head, narrowed her eyes slightly, and looked at the two of them.

Ginny and Neville were startled by Myrtle's sudden appearance, but they quickly calmed down, their bodies slightly tensed, and then relaxed again.

Neville quickly explained, waving his arms rapidly in the air, "Myrtle, we're not sneaking around. We're here to find you."

When Myrtle heard this, a hint of curiosity flashed in her eyes. She tilted her head slightly, like a curious kitten, and looked back and forth between the two of them, looking up and down at Ginny and Neville. Her eyes scanned back and forth between the two, as if trying to find out something from their expressions.

Then, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, revealing an expression that seemed like a smile, a smile that was somewhat teasing and playful: "Oh? Looking for me? You two, a man and a woman, are you a couple? Why did you come to my place? Don't choose a place as sad as mine to talk about love."

"I can tell you, love is like a tangled mess. Once you get tangled up, you can't untie it. Besides, men are all bad. You have to be careful."

As she spoke, she curled her lips at Neville, floated lightly in front of Neville, got close to him, tilted her head and looked at him carefully, as if she was examining a new toy.

However, in the blink of an eye, Myrtle's expression suddenly changed. Her slightly teasing look disappeared without a trace, replaced by a miserable look.

Her lips began to tremble, and her eyes were instantly filled with tears. The tears swirled in her eyes, as if they would burst out in the next second.

Her body was shaking slightly, like a leaf shivering in the cold wind. She looked at Ginny and Neville with a sad look and cried, "You are bullying Myrtle, just like everyone else. I have always been so pitiful, no one has ever really loved me, and you still come here to make fun of me."

As she spoke, she covered her face with her hands and cried even harder. Her sad cries echoed in the bathroom, filling the entire space with a sad atmosphere.

Ginny and Neville were at a loss for words; they had not expected Myrtle's moods to be so changeable.

Ginny hurriedly took a step forward, trying to comfort Myrtle: "Myrtle, no, we didn't mean that. We really just want to talk to you about the Chamber of Secrets. We don't mean to bully you."

Neville also nodded repeatedly and looked at Myrtle sincerely.

Myrtle's teasing expression disappeared instantly, replaced by extreme panic. Her face turned pale, and her eyes were full of fear, as if she had heard the most terrible news in the world.

Before Ginny and Neville could react, she rushed into a cubicle like a gust of wind and closed the door with a bang. The sound echoed in the bathroom, making Ginny and Neville's eardrums hurt.

Ginny and Neville looked at each other, they hadn't expected Myrtle's reaction to be so violent.

"What should we do? She seems scared." Neville said worriedly.

Ginny frowned and said with a firm look in her eyes: "We must talk to her. This may be our only clue."

Ginny walked to the cubicle door and knocked gently. "Myrtle, we know this may be scary for you, but the school may be in danger again. We need your help."

There was no response from the compartment, only the faint sobbing of Myrtle. Ginny and Neville waited anxiously outside the door, hoping that Myrtle could muster up the courage to face the past.
