Chapter 194 The Predecessor of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Steve was walking alone on the busy streets of New York, holding a makeshift smartphone that didn't belong to him.

He felt like a monkey that had just been thrown into a zoo.

I was curious about everything on the street, yet also felt awkward and at a loss as to what to do.

Only the call from Hydra in his hand brought him a familiar sense of comfort.

Several SHIELD agents behind him were hiding their bodies and following Steve, or rather, they were monitoring the phone calls while they set up control of the entire alley.

This makes this somewhat remote alley seem unusually busy.

Some of the real pedestrians were even more confused.

When did this place become so crowded...

This "busy crowd" followed the instructions on Stark's phone and started wandering around the city with Steve.

"Keep going, Alzheimer's. Don't tell me you have real Alzheimer's.

Oh, of course, it's not an unusual symptom for a 90-year-old guy, but I guess it just loves you," Stark said.

Captain America Steve Rogers - his father's former good friend...

His father had praised Steve in front of him more than once, saying that he was not a born hero and did not have immortality, but was just stronger, braver, and more resourceful than ordinary people and had a heart of gold.

Haha~ An old story, an old person.

Captain America was praised to bits by his father, but in Stark's eyes, Captain America was just a veteran who had participated in World War II and was used for political propaganda.

The victory of a war is never due to one person, but to every person and every factor who dares to fight...

Stark wanted to see if Steve was really as great as his father said.

Operating the computer in his hands, in just a few moments, Stark successfully hacked into Steve's mobile phone and used it as a springboard to sneak into the SHIELD network.

While casually directing Steve and the SHIELD agents to move around the city, he was carefully previewing various information in SHIELD.

Although this is just the ordinary version of the information, it is enough for Stark to understand something.

First there was stupid weapons production, then boring technology research and development, some information about super-powered combat, and a lot of messy investigation reports...

Among them are investigations on Lizard Man, Spider-Man, Ghost Spider, and of course more on Skrulls, Demons, Purple Man, etc...

Stark became interested in these and easily copied them into his own database, continuing to check them, looking for information that might be related to Hydra.

Soon, he successfully found the relevant information about Hydra being destroyed by SHIELD. As an organization that had been eliminated long ago, SHIELD was proud of it and did not keep it secret.

Even Project Paperclip wasn't so secret...

OSS - Office of Strategic Services, was established by order of President Roosevelt. It is an intelligence strategy organization established by the United States during World War II to meet the needs of the war.

Its official work is sabotage, espionage, counterintelligence and the deployment and implementation of covert operations to guide the course of the war.

However, with the victory of the war and the end of World War II, the OSS established during the war was abolished and split up because of its excessive power.

So later on, there was the CIA Central Intelligence Agency that is in the open today, and there was another part that was more hidden. It was the Strategic Scientific Corps established by Colonel Chester Phillips who invited Howard, Carter and others to form this agency, which is the predecessor of the current S.H.I.E.L.D.

CIA and SHIELD are two departments born from the same mother.

It's just that SHIELD later got in touch with the Security Council, and its purpose of existence is also to be a special force that deals with strange events.

Of course, the main purpose of its existence was to destroy Hydra, which was founded by Red Skull.

The Paperclip Project was planned by OSS in order to compete for Nazi German technical experts and transfer these researchers back to the United States in large numbers before they were discovered by other countries and made them work for the United States.

Not only did they join various branches of the U.S. military, many of them also joined the Strategic Science Corps at the time.

This made Stark frown, thinking that his father had done something stupid.

The fact that these Nazis were working as researchers in the United States was not a big secret, but the CIA and the U.S. Department of Justice had always refused to release the specific details and deliberately concealed them.

But if Hydra is added to these nanostructured molecules...

Stark has fully believed that Hydra can really be revived in S.H.I.E.L.D.

Or it could be said that it was not just SHIELD, because the Nazi scientists at that time were invited to join all walks of life in the United States.

Cut off one head and two will grow...

It's a pleasant surprise just to listen to it.

Moreover, there is information showing that even after these scientists joined, they all maintained contact with the Nazi Party, and most of them were even suspected of committing war crimes.

It’s just that the US government decided to bypass these rules and act secretly for its own strategic interests.

"What should we do next..." Steve's helpless voice came from the other end of the phone.

He had been sneaking around by Stark for hours.

He was fine, but the agents around him were obviously much more negative.

"Keep going, Captain America. I hope you can keep moving forward. You have always been the target of the SHIELD agents."

"e=(′o`*)))Ah~" Steve sighed, "I don't think I can move forward, ADHD..."

As he spoke, he looked over the railing and frowned at the endless sea below him.

He knew that the other party was not paying attention to him at all and was just giving instructions casually.

Stark raised his eyebrows as he flipped through the documents and quickly tapped on the keyboard. Soon, a red dot representing Steve appeared on the map of New York City. Nearby surveillance cameras turned on one by one, showing the situation there.

Glancing at Steve's location, Stark casually asked:

"So... have you shaken off the agents around you, soldier~"

Stark tapped the keyboard and blocked the tracking device on Steve directly in the SHIELD network. He said:

"Run! Soldier, take off the tracking device on you and run... I need you to get far away from them and come to a place in person so that we can meet."

Stark tilted his mouth and said:

"You don't want anything to happen to Tony Stark, do you?"

He put the phone down helplessly. There was an agent around him pressing the headset, seeming to be listening to some instructions, and another agent looked at him with a questioning look.

Clenching the phone in his hand, Steve looked around.

Steve was sure that with so many SHIELD agents around him, Hydra would never meet him.

After hesitating for a moment, Steve's eyes became firm. Holding the phone in his hand, he ran forward quickly.

The surrounding agents were a little stunned and didn't know what to do for a moment.

Catch up directly? We will definitely be exposed...

But... these SHIELD agents were scattered on the remote coastline, and there was no one else around in the quiet surroundings.

Several people were still on the phone, looking anxious about work.

Are we really not exposed?

Without any time to hesitate, the agents swarmed towards Steve...
