Rebirth: What to do if you fall into a wolf's den

Chapter 264: Bad News for Mother Su

As night fell, the Su family villa looked exceptionally peaceful in the moonlight. However, this tranquility was soon broken by a sudden incident.

Although the van drove away silently, the car driven by Lu Er did stop briefly in front of the villa, so this action was caught by the highly alert Su family butler.

The housekeeper stood in front of the window on the second floor. With the dim light, he vaguely saw a figure busy at the door of the villa, as if he was throwing something away.

He frowned, feeling suspicious, but the night was dim and the distance was far, so he could not see the man's face clearly, let alone what was thrown away.

After the figure disappeared and the car drove away, the butler could no longer suppress his curiosity and decided to go downstairs to find out what was going on. He put on his coat, walked hurriedly through the corridor, and came to the front door of the villa.

The scene before him stunned him—a few inconspicuous snakeskin bags were lying in front of the door, looking particularly out of place.

Out of instinctive curiosity, the butler slowly approached, and after hesitating for a moment, he finally reached out and untied the knot of one of the pockets.

As the pocket gradually opened, an ominous premonition rose in his heart, and then the scene before him almost suffocated him -

"what!"

The butler screamed, his face turned pale in an instant, and his body involuntarily stepped back repeatedly due to excessive shock, and finally lost his balance and fell to the ground.

He widened his eyes and stared at the open pocket with horror. Inside was the blood-covered Miss Su Su of the Su family and her bodyguard He Fei!

"What happened?"

At this moment, the security guards in the villa were startled by the butler's shouting, and they quickly gathered at the door with intercoms in hand. When they saw the butler lying on the ground in a mess, they immediately stepped forward to inquire about the situation and helped him up together.

"Quick...look at those pockets!"

The butler pointed at the snakeskin bag on the ground with a trembling hand, and his voice was filled with uncontrollable panic and fear.

Upon hearing this, the security guards immediately gathered around and opened the remaining pockets one by one according to the butler's instructions. As the unbelievable scenes appeared one by one, they also showed the same shock on their faces.

"What...what's going on?"

A security guard exclaimed, and quickly called the emergency number and the police.

The butler was helped to sit aside. He still pointed at the pockets tremblingly, his voice weak but firm.

"Take them...into the house first, and be careful. I...I will go and inform the master and mistress right away."

After saying that, the butler struggled to stand up and staggered into the villa, with only one thought in his mind - he must let Su's father and mother know this shocking news as soon as possible.

At this moment, the Su family villa was instantly shrouded in an atmosphere of tension and anxiety because of this sudden change.

……

The night was as dark as ink, the moonlight was obscured by thick clouds, and the Su family's villa fell into a deep silence.

However, this tranquility did not last long. The footsteps of the housekeeper Uncle Li echoed in the empty corridor, breaking the silence of the night. His heart seemed to be pressed by a huge rock, and every step was heavy and hurried, because he knew that the news he was about to convey would be like a bolt from the blue for Su's father and mother.

"You must stay calm. You must stay calm."

Uncle Li repeatedly warned himself in his heart, and he took a deep breath, trying to calm his nervous breathing. He knew that only by staying calm could he clearly tell Su's father and mother the whole story.

Arriving outside the bedroom door of Su's father and mother, Uncle Li knocked gently, but then realized that such force might not be able to penetrate the silence in the room, so he increased his strength and knocked quickly and firmly.

Inside the door, Su's father was awakened by the sudden knock on the door. He frowned and muttered something unhappily.

"Who is it? It's the middle of the night." He put on his coat, resisted the urge to sleep, and opened the door.

"Uncle Li, it's so late, what's the matter?"

There was a hint of impatience in Su's father's voice, and he was obviously unhappy about his sleep being disturbed.

Uncle Li looked at Father Su with mixed feelings in his heart. He stammered, "Master, Madam...something happened. Miss and Mr. He...they..."

At this point, Uncle Li's voice choked up a little. He tried hard to swallow the tears that were about to flow, and continued, "They were covered in blood and were thrown at the gate of the villa."

Hearing this, Father Su's face turned pale in an instant, and he widened his eyes in disbelief, but then, a mixture of anger and worry surged into his heart.

At this time, Su's mother, who was awakened, also got up in a hurry. After hearing Uncle Li's words, she seemed to have all her strength drained away. Her face was as pale as paper, and her eyes were full of fear and anxiety.

"What did you say? Susu... He Fei..."

Su's mother's voice was trembling. She suddenly grabbed Su's father's hand and cried, "Let's go and have a look, quickly!"

Father Su didn't have time to blame Uncle Li anymore. He quickly came to his senses and rushed downstairs with Mother Su.

In the living room, the lights were dim and yellow, adding a sense of heaviness to this sudden tragedy.

The figures of several security guards looked particularly heavy under the light. They carefully dragged Su Su and He Fei in from outside the door, and every step seemed to step on the hearts of everyone present.

The two men were placed on a slightly empty bench, their clothes disheveled and bloodstained, as if they had just struggled out of an endless nightmare.

“Crisp…crisp…”

Once Su's mother's eyes fell on her daughter, she could no longer look away. She called softly with a trembling voice, as if hoping that this weak call could wake up the sleeping child.

She walked quickly forward and knelt beside Su Su. She picked up the handkerchief with trembling hands and gently wiped the blood off her daughter's face. Every wipe seemed as if she was wiping the wound in her heart.

"My dear Susu, how could you leave your mother like this..."

Su's mother's tears flowed like a flood that broke through the dam, and she couldn't stop it. She hugged Su Su's cold body tightly, as if she could snatch her back from the hands of death.

Father Su stood aside, staring at the scars on Su Su and He Fei's faces with a sharp gaze, especially the two conspicuous bullet holes, which were like two sharp blades, piercing his heart fiercely.

He gritted his teeth and tried to control his emotions and not let his tears fall. He knew that now was not the time to break down, and he had to seek justice for his daughter and son-in-law.

"Go check it out!"

Father Su's voice was low and firm. He turned around and gave an order to the security captain beside him, "I want to know who did it and why they did it! No matter what force is behind it, I will make them pay the price!"

Upon hearing this, the security captain nodded solemnly, then turned around and quickly left with his men. Their backs gradually blurred in the night, but they left behind a firm commitment and endless hope.

Father Su turned around and looked at Su Su and He Fei again, a gentle yet complex emotion flashed in his eyes.

He slowly walked to Su's mother, gently held her hand, and gave her silent comfort and support.

Although his heart was broken, he knew that they had to be strong at this moment, for the sake of their deceased relatives and for the road ahead.
