Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy
Chapter 440: The Tragic Asajj Ventres
As the war resumes in the Sulust system, Ventress pilots her ship and engages the enemy without flinching, locking onto a ship carrying Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and beginning a tense pursuit.
After several precise strikes, she observed them perform a rapid tumbling motion.
"Who to choose..." she muttered, her eyes fixed on Kenobi's ship. She quickly adjusted the controls to focus on him while commanding the droid to hunt down the other Jedi, Anakin.
The chase continued, with Ventress trying to take down the two Jedi Generals. They were so agile in dodging her attacks that she found them difficult to deal with. Although one of the Jedi blew up the outer layer of a Separatist ship, giving himself some cover, Ventress used the smoke and debris to hide from him, but she continued to pursue him.
She got closer and closer, close enough to fire. She shot at Kenobi and launched another attack at his ship. Kenobi's ship seemed to lose control and was forced to make an emergency landing on the Separatist flagship. Ventress smiled smugly and was about to capture Kenobi when he was suddenly attacked from behind.
The sudden attack caught her off guard, and she eventually crash-landed on the Separatist flagship. After recovering from the chaos of the crash-landing, she slid across the platform and accidentally hit the wall, which left her somewhat disoriented.
As she tried to calm herself, her console began beeping. Someone was calling her. When she answered, she saw a holographic projection of Dooku.
Before Dooku could speak, Ventress interrupted him.
"Master, I need your help," she pleaded. "I am surrounded, and..."
However, what came out was chaotic audio and intermittent words. "You... stop... you failed again... my apprentice... you will die here..." the count said before the holographic projection was suddenly interrupted.
Because of the signal, Ventres could not accurately judge Dooku's true intentions. However, she knew that she was in a desperate situation and had to find a way out.
Did she disappoint him, did he decide to abandon her completely after all the failures and things he had witnessed.
Ventres's call sounded again in the communication, but it was only met with empty silence. How could he be so heartless...
Feelings of disbelief and anger surged in Ventres' heart, causing her cheeks to flush with anger.
"He... How dare he abandon me? I gave him everything!" She roared in her heart. Frustrated, she punched the control console several times and then left the Banshee angrily.
At this point, Kenobi and Skywalker ignited their lightsabers and she turned to face them, seeing them.
Obi-Wan said calmly, "Ventress, you don't look well."
Meanwhile, Anakin quickly pointed his weapon at Ventress.
"You have failed, Ventress. Surrender." Obi-Wan's voice was firm and cold.
The word "failure" had multiple meanings to Ventres at this moment, making her even angrier.
Ventres roared, "Never!"
She ignited her twin lightsabers and leapt from the Banshee, engaging the Jedi in a fierce exchange of blows and parries, each Force-sensitive dodging and maneuvering nimbly on the platform. Before long, various Force techniques were being performed in hopes of gaining the upper hand over their opponents.
As the battle progressed, Republic fighters began to gain the upper hand. Various attacks began to break through and began to take down Separatist flagships. This chain of events would eventually end the battle in favor of the Republic.
Asajj continued to fight, swinging her lightsaber viciously, keeping both Jedi in a tense standoff. For a moment, it seemed she had the upper hand, successfully knocking Obi-Wan back and cornering Skywalker. But Kenobi quickly recovered and rushed at his friend, and the two of them forced the assassin back.
Ventres was pushed back by the combined force, slamming hard into the Banshee and nearly falling to the ground. Anger and frustration mixed in her heart, but she knew the fight was still going on and she had to keep going.
Kenobi and Skywalker walked toward her, and her mind raced with a sense of failure, deep disappointment, and a sense of being abandoned and instrumental. These thoughts flashed through her mind like lightning until suddenly there was a loud snap inside her. It seemed to awaken an untapped rage in her, making it more intense.
Ventress thrust her hands out, and suddenly, with incredible strength, she grasped the two Jedi Knights by the throat, lifting them off the floor with ease, screaming out bloody cries. Her connection to the Force was stronger than ever, as if something was stirring inside her. If there were words to describe it, it might be a rush of adrenaline, a burst of passion. Whatever the circumstances had driven her, she had overpowered them with incredible strength.
But all this came to an abrupt end when an explosion roared and the flagship began to shake violently. Her control over the Jedi Knights collapsed, and they quickly launched a counterattack to subdue her. Ventress fought desperately, but found that her power was slowly draining away. Her mind, her heart, and her entire body began to feel strange. Dooku's abandonment weighed on her heart like a heavy weight, until she was finally disarmed and fell to her knees.
She looked up in frustration, only to see the two Jedi staring at her calmly. Anakin's voice broke the silence. "It's over." He pointed his lightsaber at her neck.
If only things were that simple...
At this moment, Obi-Wan heard a whistling sound and turned around to see a spaceship rushing towards them from outside, without slowing down at all.
"Anakin, be careful!"
The Jedi Master pushed his former apprentice out of the way, allowing them to avoid the crashing ship, and as the two men regained their feet moments later, the ship exploded.
They looked around, but there was no sign of Ventres. But the aftermath of the explosion made them decide not to pursue him for the time being. Obi-Wan said, "We have to get out of here."
They quickly returned to their respective spacecraft, flew off the ground, and re-entered space where the battle resumed.
"Anakin, Obi-Wan, guys, are you all right?" a voice from another ship asked.
"We're coming, Rhodes," they responded.
"Oh my God, what happened to you? Why didn't you respond to my previous call?"
"We were held up by Ventres, which led us to engage him aboard an enemy ship," Anakin explained.
"That's why you two have been missing for so long." War Machine muttered to himself, "Did you catch that bald freak?"
Skywalker snorted with a hint of dissatisfaction, "No, unfortunately, we have no such luck. Perhaps blowing up her ship will give us a chance to destroy her."
However, War Machine was silent for a moment, "You know this might not work, right?"
"Rhodes...please..."
"I'm just saying, maybe your power of the Force can keep her alive."
The two Jedi then flew back to the Republic fleet.
When this happens...
The alarm sounded: "Abandon ship! Abandon ship!"
Ventres quickly climbed back into her ship, closed the hatch, and tried to start her ship to escape. She had to get out before this disaster struck. Fortunately, her ship was moving with difficulty on the metal floor, and she pushed the thrusters as hard as she could to get out.
She was lucky to make it out of the hangar. Once her ship was far enough away - she looked back and saw the explosion behind her.
Anakin looked at the explosion, smiled slightly, and asked, "Do you think she can survive?"
"It's hard to say. The enemy's death can only be considered real death if we witness it with our own eyes. If we rely on speculation, it would be quite naive and unacceptable."
Anakin complained, "You're boring, you know that?"
Obi-Wan reminded, "We won, didn't we?"
"Yes, but Ventres..."
"If she somehow survives, we'll be cautious if we run into her again."
……
In Dooku's mansion, Count Dooku received the latest report from the tactical droids in the Sulust Galaxy. The report showed that no one survived the explosion of the capital ship, which made him feel heavy.
Tyrannus was unsure if Ventres was truly dead, as the sudden disturbance in the Force made it difficult for him to sense his connection with her.
He was unsure if she was actually dead, or if she had been captured and taken to some other unknown location.
But if she was really gone, he would feel it in his heart. Count Serenno was sure of this.
Despite his doubts and anxieties, the Count still had to face the important matters at hand. When he contacted Sidious by phone, Dooku immediately knelt before him.
Sidious asked, "Tyranus, what is the situation?"
Dooku replied, "Asajj Ventress has fallen, as you wished."
Sidious smiled with satisfaction and praised Dooku for once again proving his loyalty to him.
After the call, Dooku stayed alone in the office, feeling lost and confused. He didn't know what to do next because he had lost an extremely important assistant.
……
"…That is a great existence…"
"No! Master..."
"Asajj...I'm sorry...don't--"
"The orcs have great power over you..."
"Our revenge... there must be another way..."
In the chaos, Ventres's vision gradually blurred. A bright light flashed in front of her half-closed eyes, and she seemed to remember something but quickly lost consciousness.
Before she passed out, she reflected on her failure to defeat the Jedi and how she had failed her master once again. This could be the last time, as she was abandoned.
As she was pulled from her seat, she gradually regained consciousness. The cockpit of the Banshee had been blown open, and someone was next to her.
After a while, when she fully woke up, she realized that she was still alive, but her fate was full of uncertainty...
She felt a sudden sharp pain in her arm, and she looked up. In front of her, a blue male Twi'lek wearing goggles was squatting in front of her, holding a sharp knife in his hand.
Behind him, several Niktos stood holding blaster rifles.
"You took quite a beating there, aren't you a spoiled young lady?" the Twi'lek male said in a mocking tone, pointing the tip of his knife at her.
"Whose side are you on in this fight?" he demanded.
Faced with such threats, she responded with an angry look and glared at them.
"Oh, it looks like you're not very good at talking," he sneered.
"Dathomir..." She whispered the name subconsciously.
In fact, she didn't know why she blurted out this planet in her memory. To be honest, she didn't do it on purpose, but another planet where she once felt safe suddenly appeared in her mind. However, this planet - Dathomir... This is her birth planet.
Her voice was nervous and trembling, but she tried to make it clear to the scavengers: "Please take me to Dathomir."
"Why would you want to go to a place like that?" the Twi'lek male asked. "There's nothing there but mist and witches." He continued, "Perhaps... it's best for you to stay with us, dear."
She observed the expressions on their faces and felt the tension that was about to explode. She didn't want to give them any chance to move further, so she mobilized most of the force and quickly subdued them. After she focused her attention, they seemed to be restrained by an invisible force, unable to move, as if their necks were being strangled and they had difficulty breathing.
However, all this was in vain, as Ventres decisively ended their lives by crushing their throats.
After seeing them all fall, she walked towards the cockpit of the ship she was currently in.
As she tried to input a possible destination into the navigation, images of Dathomir kept coming to her mind.
Ventres held her head in pain. She had wanted to go somewhere else, but she was very determined to go to Dathomir. Was it the Force that was guiding her, or was it something else?
Regardless, it seems she has no choice but to randomly input the coordinates of a planet she's never been to...
