A lone Jedi Knight walks the halls of the Jedi Temple, a hall away from the Jedi Archives.

The man was in his thirties, had dark black hair and soft brown eyes, and wore black robes, a departure from the usual brown and beige robes worn by most Jedi.

He was holding a data pad with an uneasy and slightly distracted look on his face, which he was quickly scanning, and his expression became more and more nervous as he continued to read.

"It's not supposed to be like this, it's not supposed to be closed."

"Oh, sorry." said an apologetic voice.

The Jedi grunted and waved his hands in apology. "You have nothing to apologize for, my friend. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. I was—"

He looked up to see who he had bumped into, blinking to see he was standing in front of three prominent Avengers.

"You are the Avengers." The Jedi Knight said with a little surprise, and bowed slightly after a moment. "It's an honor to meet you."

"Nice to meet you, too." Captain America said, extending his hand. "Steve Rogers."

The Jedi shook the super soldier's hand. "Barel Orville. Jedi Scholar at your service.

The scholar said, then looked at the other two Avengers standing next to Captain America. He was thinking.

"Wait a minute," he said. "I think I can guess who you two are, since you're occupying the HoloNetwork half the time.

"Only half?" the armored man asked jokingly.

The red-haired woman hummed, and Master Orville stared at them both analytically.

“You must be…Colonel James Rhodes. I hear some troops call you War Machine.

War Machine grinned and nodded.

Barel glanced at the red-haired woman and snapped his fingers.

"Natasha Romanoff," he said. "I heard how you infiltrated those bounty hunters, and it was pretty funny."

"Have you heard of it?" Black Widow blinked in surprise.

"It's hard not to, since this little group has taken the Senate building and some of its members hostage. The Jedi Knight revealed with a laugh. "It's become a popular story among the clones."

"Well, that's great. If everyone knows about it, they can't use that trick anymore." Black Widow said expressionlessly, causing the scholars to laugh.

"Goodness," he said affably. "To run into the Avengers out of the blue like this. Although I admit, I'm surprised we didn't meet sooner... Then again, I only recently returned to Coruscant.

"You said you were a scholar?" Captain America asked with obvious curiosity.

"It has always been my passion." Orville announced, the way he spoke matched the look in his eyes. "I have always found the study and mysteries of the Force fascinating. I have traveled to most of the known galaxies and studied at many active and inactive temples.

"Are there still many temples?"

"You thought the one on Coruscant was the only one in the galaxy?" Barel asked. Seeing them nod, he shrugged. "Sure, where we stand is the only active one right now, but there have been countless others in the past.

"There's only one active one?"

“Yes.” Orville’s expression was even darker now. “Ossus was once the home of the Jedi. The temple there still stands, and all the knowledge that hasn’t been transferred there still resides within its walls. What a shame.

"But no... I remember Master Fisto once told me that there are ten thousand Jedi Knights," said Black Widow.

"Nine thousand," Orville corrected glumly. "This war has stretched my brothers and sisters across the galaxy. Before this war, many of the Temples were occupied as places to train and learn more about our Orders and our forces. But when the war broke out, those Temples went from being palaces of knowledge to palaces of war.

"These places sound important," Cap pointed out. "Are you sure it's a good idea to abandon them?"

“Because of conflicts and revisions in the Jedi Order, there are personnel changes. Expansions, splits, factions, etc.,” Orville said. “But the good thing about the temples is that unless you know something about the Force, it’s very difficult to enter them. For that reason, we’re constantly sending teams out to check in and keep them safe while making sure nothing’s amiss. That’s the responsibility I just came back to.”

"You came back at the most difficult time." War Machine said with a slight frown.

“I know. I was completely petrified and unprepared for this Ultron to make his presence known. Orville said with a serious expression. “That’s why I actually extended my vacation and went to a few other nearest temples to make sure nothing happened to them. Thankfully, those temples were safe and sound.”

"Glad to hear that." Cap said, nodding, and then he thought about the encounter just seconds ago. "But you were a little anxious just now. What's going on?

The Jedi scholar nodded, his expression turning serious. "There is a matter of great importance, Captain Rogers. It must be brought to the attention of the Security Council immediately.

"Council?" Black Widow repeated for confirmation.

"Yes, yes, this is serious and I have to talk to them immediately," Orville said.

"Well, now's a good time then." War Machine said. "In fact, we're on our way to meet with the Council and some Clone Captains and Commanders right now."

"Really?" Orville asked in slight surprise, and saw the three of them nodded. "About what?"

Captain America uttered two words seriously and simply, "Ultron."

Orville's expression darkened and he nodded. "And then luckily, we met each other. Okay?

"We'll follow you, Master Orville," Captain America said.

Orville smiled. "No need to address me like that, Captain. Just call me by my first name."

"So do we," War Machine said.

"That's good," Orville said, and the four of them went to the chosen room to prepare for the meeting.

The four of them quickly arrived at their destination, walked into the designated meeting room, and saw a large group of people inside.

Nearly half of the Jedi Council was present, along with Yoda, Windu, Fisto, Mundi, Luminara, Plo Koon, and Obi-Wan. Also present were Aayla, Anakin, and Ahsoka.

The clones present were Rex, Fordow, Ponzi, Gerry, Wolfe, Jeter, Baccarat, and Cody.

In the Avengers, there are only four people, Scott, Hope, Sam and T'Challa.

"Looks like we're all here," Windu said, staring at the three Avengers entering the room, and blinked when he saw another Jedi walk in behind them.

"It's been a while since we last met, Master Orville." Yoda nodded to the scholar.

"Master Yoda." Orville bowed to the Jedi Master. "I bring you good news from the temples I have inspected with my Padawan. All of them are safe and undamaged.

"That's good news indeed." Luminara said with a slight smile. "It's nice to see you again, Orville."

"And you, Master Luminara," Orville said, grinning at her. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner, but congratulations on your ascension to the Jedi Council."

Luminara's expression fell slightly. "I wish it was better."

Hearing this, Ant-Man and the Wasp both showed expressions of regret and guilt.

"Your arrival is a pleasant surprise, Master Orville," Plo said, "The Avengers are with you. What happened?

The Jedi scholar stepped into the center of the room. "I had intended to report my findings to the Council privately, but given what I have learned, I believe this is information that everyone here should know.

Just like that, everyone gathered in the meeting hall focused their attention on this master.

"Something is... horrible." Orville's expression grew serious and uneasy. "When I returned to the Temple, when I learned of Ultron's attack, I rushed straight to the Jedi Library. I was grateful to know that nothing was touched by the threat of that droid, Master Jocasta told me so."

There was a brief pause among the large group of people present.

"But..." Orville frowned. "When I checked the files, I found that some information had been taken away.

The room was silent as everyone stared at the Jedi scholar.

"What information?" Obi-Wan asked, breaking the silence.

He sighed reluctantly, walked to the center, entered the data, and entered the central projector.

After a moment, a holographic lightsaber materialized for all to see.

"Lightsaber?" Falcon said loudly, confused.

Orville shook his head, his face grim.

"Not just any lightsaber. This is the lightsaber that belonged to Exar Kun."

Several members of the Jedi Council froze, with obvious horror on their faces. Some Avengers and clones noticed this.

"...Okay... then what?

"You don't know Jedi history, do you?"

Falcon gave the Jedi a bland look. "I'm sorry. We were more focused on learning about the galaxy, understanding the basic language, etc. We didn't study Jedi history in depth.

Orville looked respectable. "Oh, uh...yeah, I'm sorry. It's OK...so how do I explain this succinctly..."

He snapped his fingers and typed more commands into the data pad.

The projection of the lightsaber shrank, and a moment later, the lightsaber was held by a human male in his early thirties.

He has black hair, three scars on his right cheek, and some kind of symbol on his forehead that looks like it's carved into his forehead. The lightsaber in his hand now has two blue blades when he strikes a battle-ready stance.

"This is Exar Kun," Orville said. "A Jedi Knight who became a Sith over 4000 years ago."

"Four thousand years?" Ant-Man whistled. "Do you still have a picture of him?"

Orville said calmly, "A lot, in fact. He was once a very popular member of the Order, skilled in the art of swordplay and ambitious to expand his knowledge of the Force due to his strong connection to it. However, his companions began to believe that he was expanding his lust for power. When he eventually left, he focused entirely on his studies and research, which became very worrying. Through events that are too long to list one by one, Exar Kun became a Dark Lord of the Sith.

"A fallen Jedi." Captain America muttered to himself, crossing his arms. "Isn't this Dooku who used to manage the Separatists also a Jedi?"

Yoda looked down at the ground in slight shame, and Anakin's mechanical hands tightened instantly.

"Evil can arise from anywhere," Kenobi said grimly. "Even when ordered to protect good."

Despite the desire to continue this philosophical debate, the Panthers chose to focus the meeting on the matter before them.

"So what's so special about this lightsaber that makes you so worried about it being lost?"

"Several things, actually." The center section of Exa's lightsaber was highlighted, and the outline of the gem within the blade was clearly visible. "First, the Kyber crystal. It is the earliest known object in history to be tainted and converted to the dark side, long before the synthetic crystals commonly used by the Sith.
