A portal appeared on the outskirts of the village Celeste was searching, and fourteen people walked out of the portal.

Although they all paused at the sight before them.

Houses were burned and destroyed, rubble and ruins were everywhere, but most importantly, the real horror was the human bodies scattered on the ground.

The bodies of the men, women, and children Moore had killed…

"What happened to them?" Iron Fist asked in a low voice of disbelief.

“Moore did it,” Celeste growled.

Wang walked forward and crouched in front of the nearest corpse.

A young child.

He closed his eyes briefly and recited a small prayer for her or him, as he could not determine their gender. He only knew that their life had been stolen.

He clapped his hands and began to hover from head to toes of his body.

"Just as I feared," the king said. "He sucked everything out of them. The essence and soul of life.

"Why do you do this?" Shuri couldn't help but ask.

Celeste glanced at them. "Hungry, for one thing. I bet he's trying to regain the strength he lost in Hong Kong."

"How did it come to this?" Wonder Man said softly.

Iron Man's expression beneath his helmet was as grim as everyone else's. "Friday?"

"No signs of life detected, boss," his AI said apologetically.

Iron Man clenched his fists after hearing these words. He was now filled with anger and full of strength.

The group began to move forward, and Hawkeye quickly instructed them to split into two groups to cover more ground.

Iron Man is in a group with Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider, Celeste, Winter Soldier, Wong and Jumbo.

Hawkeye is in a group with Shuri, Iron Fist, Wonder Man, She-Hulk, Mordo and White Tiger.

Both groups were on high alert, with the occasional sound of wood and pebbles being heard under their feet.

Hawkeye stopped in front of his team and looked around.

"It seems there is nothing." He muttered. "Though that may be because we can't see what we are looking for.

The rest of the team heard the news through headphones distributed to them.

"Are we too late? Has Moore left?" Iron Fist asked.

"Not likely," Ghost Rider said, his eyes gleaming with hellfire.

"So where is he?" Wonder Man asked, looking around a burned-out house and seeing the shell of a mother clutching her child.

"Are you sure he is here?" Baihu asked.

Celeste opened her mouth to respond, but she paused, sensing something.

"No. He's coming. I can feel his presence," Celeste said firmly.

"Are you sure?" asked the Treasure Girl softly.

“It’s hard not to spot an asshole who’s been living in your head for a while.”

"That's not creepy at all," She-Hulk said, remembering sadly another man who also once filled her nightmares.

As they continued through the deserted village, an eerie wind began to blow.

None of them noticed this.

As Hawkeye examined another body, he heard a stumbling sound, followed by the muttered curses of the Wakandans.

He glanced at Shuri, who was kicking a piece of wood away in annoyance. She looked a little upset.

The old Avenger walked up to her without a word and placed a hand on her shoulder.

The Wakanda princess was startled by the sudden contact, but when she saw who it was, she was immediately relieved.

"Hey." Hawkeye whispered. "You okay?"

"Hey, what?"

"Come on, stay focused." Hawkeye said, leaning forward slightly. "You understand. We are here, which is equivalent to your training. Besides, you are ready.

Shuri opened her mouth until she nodded and gave the archer a smile.

The two continued to move forward, and now the whole team stopped, and the breeze turned into a rolling gale.

A fiery wind blew into all the bodies on the ground.

Everyone was stunned, watching this scene.

...

The bodies on all sides began to twitch. Soon, they began to move -

"what!"

"What the hell?" Several shouts were heard, and everyone looked at the astonished princess.

"What is this for?!" Wonder Man almost exclaimed.

"What do you mean? What, you haven't seen a zombie movie? You're not just going to stand there and do nothing. Shuri argued quickly, hoping her actions were justified.

*Bang*

The Avengers shook once more, turning to see Iron Man firing his weapon at the twitching, now dead bodies of the villagers.

Several parts popped out of Iron Man's suit and dozens of tiny missiles were fired forward.

In a matter of seconds, all the bodies were quickly destroyed.

"Okay." Iron Man said in a satisfied tone. "At least this will take care of them."

"Really?" Shuri complained. "I shot it, and I got lectured. He did it, and nobody said anything.

"Well, you did inspire him." Iron Fist argued. "So... well done."

Shuri gave the warrior a disapproving look.

"Okay, that's scary," She-Hulk spoke up. "But isn't it a little too easy?"

She was met with collective stares from several Avengers members.

"It's starting now," Ghost Rider said as the skin began to peel off and burn off his head.

"Here it comes! Ahhh!" Baihu felt something grabbing his ankle. He looked down and saw a rotten hand sticking out from the ground.

He tugged on his leg and stepped on it, making a sickening crunching sound.

The Avengers then confront the bodies that were not destroyed by Iron Man and Shuri as they join the others in rising from the ground.

More and more of the dead began to tremble, and then unnatural sounds emanated from their mouths. In just a few minutes, the sound of bones breaking and snapping could be heard.

"Oh, what the hell."

Before their eyes, the dead began to transform into alien monsters.

"Lake ghost." Celeste shouted.

As this begins, the assembled Avengers begin firing at the Rakki.

"So many Rak Ghosts?" Iron Man said, blasting at everything he saw.

"I thought he couldn't create a rakki without the amulet," Jumbo Girl shouted, throwing a rakki into a tree.

"After absorbing all the power, the Rakki must now come to him naturally," Celeste said, igniting her lightsaber.

"So he's basically cheating," Hawkeye quipped, stabbing an arrow into Rakki's eye before Shuri could quickly finish.

"Magic always cheats," the king said, summoning the wand of Wattombo.

"Aren't you the one who told me not to disrupt the natural order of things?" Doctor Strange asked with a wry smile.

“That doesn’t mean I don’t know this.”

The former surgeon sighed in mock exasperation. "There's so much hypocrisy here."

"Can we please focus?" Hawkeye said, shooting an arrow backwards, directly into the mouth of a winged Rak'ghost.

As soon as the words fell, the trees around the village began to shake violently.

Screams and roars came from all directions.

Inside his suit, Iron Man got a full view of the forest around him and noticed something moving.

"Oh my god," he cried. "They've got us surrounded."

Hawkeye immediately said, "Everyone stand back to back and cheer up."

"Time for some unnecessary protection spells," Doctor Strange said, looking to his fellow magic users, who all clapped their hands and threw themselves outwards.

Multiple strange symbols and runes flew out from their hands and began to surround the gathering of heroes.

"What is this?" She-Hulk asked, raising her hand as ethereal orange armor materialized around her.

"Protection spell," Doctor Strange replied quickly.

"Okay then Avengers," Iron Man said as he flew into the air. "It's time to work for a living."

As soon as he finished speaking, a seemingly endless swarm of Rak's ghosts appeared around the fourteen heroes.

All the Rak Ghosts headed straight for the assembled team, and just like that, the battle began.

Iron Man, together with Doctor Strange and Precious Girl, fired multiple repulsion rays, missiles and lasers into the air.

Jewel Girl spends most of her time flying around, confronting any Rakki she encounters.

Doctor Strange continued to cast a series of spells, burning strange whips, energy blades, discs and shields to repel the group of rak ghosts.

Iron Fist called upon his strength, both of his fists glowing with power.

He knew this was the time when he shouldn't hold back, so he had to unleash the full power of his iron fist. Each of his punches sent out small yellow shockwaves that would either send the Rak Ghost flying back or have his fists go straight through them.

Wonder Man uses his invulnerable skin and super strength to bash the Rak'Kai, occasionally using their bodies as blunt instruments to give him and the team room to work with.

Celeste's lightsaber and magic sword put her to good use, slicing through seemingly endless swarms of enemies.

She-Hulk just plows through anything that gets in her way, simple as that. While she doesn't usually have the same rage as her cousin, she's still just as powerful, as evidenced by the way she fights through endless waves of Rak'Kai.

Shuri and White Tiger teamed up to launch a series of attacks on the opponent. When Black Panther defended, White Tiger attacked, and vice versa, the cooperation was quite tacit.

Ghost Rider simply walks a path of unrestrained fire all on his own, burning up any Rak'k that's unfortunate enough to be targeted.

Mordo and Wong play a role in both offense and defense, shuttling in and around the team to protect their teammates, fight off a few Rakki, or use support spells or portals for others to use.

overall...

"Now that's good," Iron Man exclaimed, his voice full of approval as he flew overhead. "Got to admit, I like what I see now."

The others smiled.

This day was like no other and required a group of exceptional people to come together.

Together, we fight a battle that no one else can.
