Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy

War Machine walked up to the Jedi Knight and greeted him, "General Skywalker."

Skywalker nodded and said, "Colonel Rhodes, are you ready for your first mission in the Republic?"

"Well, if anything, our first mission with the Galactic Republic was more of a viewing experience in my opinion, but I still feel like the four of us could have done more to get the job done," War Machine said, with the other Avengers standing beside him.

"Why?" Anakin asked curiously.

"Can you have R2 show the projection of that ship again?" War Machine asked.

The projection of Grievous's ship was shown again.

"From what we know, this ship fires an ion pulse, right? Not like a missile or a bomb, but a super big arc-shaped attack wave." War Machine asked Anakin.

"Yes, just a large circle of ion energy, enough to disable all working systems on our ship," Anakin said.

"So it's like an EMP," Falcon muttered.

"Does its range increase as it moves?" War Machine asked.

"It does," Anakin confirmed. "That's how it can attack ships like the Avenger."

"What about your attack formation? If your Shadow Squadron goes up like this, there is a high possibility that it will be destroyed by the enemy battleship." Captain America asked.

Anakin said looking at the four Avengers and said, "This is also what I am currently thinking about. Do you have any ideas?"

War Machine nodded and asked R2 to project the Shadow Squadron bombers, then said, "Okay, R2, now can you do a diagonal crossing and then arrange the fighters into a V-shaped formation?"

"Keep going R2, this seems important." Anakin continued to urge.

Soon, projections of three Y-wing bombers were displayed at the locations requested by War Machine.

"Are you familiar with these formations?" War Machine asked Anakin directly.

"I've never seen a formation like this before." Anakin said, pointing at the formation.

"Well, this..." War Machine pointed to the first one, "is called the Four Finger Formation. It was used as early as World War II on Earth. Many of our aviation formations come from this."

"I think you have a lot of experience in flying combat. You are from the Air Force, right?" Anakin speculated.

"Yes, Falcon and I are both in the Air Force, specializing in flying," War Machine admitted.

"Yes, I saw it during the Battle of Naboo," Anakin said.

War Machine smiled slightly before facing Anakin again, who was waiting for him to elaborate further on his formation.

War Machine continued, "Anyway, from what we've heard, their ion cannon can instantly disable a spacecraft when it fires an electromagnetic pulse. So, instead of using the circular formation you proposed, it would be better to use one of the two formations I mentioned, and let the entire squadron become a battle fortress to gain maximum mobility and firepower."

Anakin stared at War Machine Rhodes, who was indeed a veteran with rich experience in air combat. He nodded, and Anakin looked up at Shadow Squadron.

"Shadow Squadron, gather at the meeting place." Anakin called out to them loudly.

"Sir!" the squadron shouted collectively.

"Okay, boys, in addition to the combat mission remaining unchanged, you will be joined by four other people, they are Colonel James Rhodes, Lieutenant Sam Wilson, Captain Steve Rogers, and Scott Lang. "Well, you have every reason to obey Colonel Rhodes's command and complete this combat mission with the other Avengers." Anakin handed over the command to War Machine and invited Captain America to discuss other matters with Plo Koon and Ahsoka.

War Machine was a little uncomfortable with the clone pilot staring at him without blinking, but he quickly cleared his throat and said, "Okay, excellent pilots of the Galactic Republic, first of all, I want to make it clear that my teammates and I are not here to take over your squadron, nor will we stay in Shadow Squadron forever, but to provide you with necessary assistance."

"So don't mind us most of the time," Falcon said with a shrug.

The clone pilot named Broadside asked, "Sir, what are these two formations?"

War Machine nodded and said, "That's what we are going to discuss. You should have a general understanding of this kind of flight formation, right?"

All the clones nodded.

War Machine breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing this, and then gave the clone pilots an in-depth explanation of the two formations' arrangements and their functions.

Meanwhile, Cap and Anakin are talking, with Plo Koon and Ahsoka standing beside them.

"Captain, are you sure you want to go to the front lines? If you want to stay in the temple, I will understand." Anakin asked.

"General, I appreciate your concern, but I've never been one to sit and wait for news. My other five teammates are missing now, and I can't leave it to luck whether I can find them, so we must take the initiative instead of waiting passively."

Anakin smiled approvingly, and Plo nodded in understanding.

"Captain Rogers, I think you should get along well with Skywalker here." Plough said.

Captain America smiled slightly and turned his attention to Admiral Yularen, who had an important message for them.

Yularen said solemnly, "Skywalker. Enemy warships have just attacked our medical convoy near the Lindria system."

"The medical escort was attacked? Only Grievous would do something so despicable as attacking injured soldiers." Ahsoka said in disbelief and anger.

Captain America frowned as he digested this information, feeling deeply saddened by the thought of an unarmed clone being killed so easily. Whoever this Grievous was, it was clear that he had no moral fiber.

"Lindria..." Anakin pondered, "Lindria system near Naboo, our medical station happens to be stationed there."

Yularen recalled the scenes from his previous voyages and said, "There are many star clusters in that area. Even Grievous' fleet cannot guarantee that it will not deviate from its course in such an area."

"It looks like we need a shortcut to get there, otherwise this Grievous will definitely disappear." Captain America said.

"Captain Rogers, you spoke my mind. It so happens that we are near this shortcut right now. Admiral Yularen, send orders to the medical escort and tell them what is about to happen." Anakin said.

“I’ll do it right away, General.” Yularen walked away quickly.
