Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy
Chapter 329 Rendezvous
Scott needed no further encouragement, he took a few steps back and started running towards the window.
He leaped across the wide opening and pressed the controller on his right hand. He began to giantize in the air and began to push a Ranker into a tower adjacent to the one he had just attacked.
Just minutes ago, Cap was struggling to defeat this Rank who had managed to inflict some serious damage on him.
He was breathing heavily, exhausted, and aching from head to toe.
This had been his daily routine for over a month, probably closer to two months based on all the tally marks he'd put on his metal armor.
Keep fighting.
There was barely any food or water, and no proper rest time.
Adrenaline got him through many tough situations.
But at the end of the day, Steve is still human.
Even though his body might be at its peak enhancement, he still felt exhausted at the end of every fight, now just pure exhaustion.
Sometimes his arms would shake at the end of each day.
Not that it’s all bad.
He got some good exercise.
He firmly believed, he hoped, that after leaving this place, he felt that he would become stronger than before.
He just hoped his friends could find him and get him out of here.
Luckily, as he stood over the defeated Ranko to face the oncoming alien creature released from the cage, the collar around his neck suddenly broke.
"What--"
Suddenly, he felt the ground shake, and a moment later, Scott's giant foot drove past him, launching the arena's newest ranker onto one of the stadium's viewing platforms.
Captain America looked up in astonishment and looked forward in disbelief. When he saw Ant-Man standing above him, he smiled brightly.
"Hey, Captain." Scott's voice sounded. "Sorry we're late."
It wasn't long before the rest of Cap's rescue team revealed themselves.
Delta Team discarded their capes, and the Avengers and Jedi present jumped into the arena.
The Falcon took to the air and quickly fired small missiles at the alien creatures, some flew very fast while those with sturdier fur screamed in pain.
Anakin and Aayla rushed forward with ignited lightsabers, cleaving Steve's opponent.
Voss stood beside Karin, the Chief, and Old Seven, who were shooting at the guards who were now running into the arena.
"I believe this is yours, Captain Rogers."
Cap blinked and turned to see Black Panther standing over him, holding his colorful shield for him to take.
Steve smiled, holding his signature weapon back in his hands after so long.
"It's very strange to be without it." He said, putting the shield on his left arm. Then he stared at the others around him. "It's good to see you again."
"Glad to see you're still fighting, Steve," said Natasha's familiar voice, as she and the repairman appeared at his side.
"Natasha." Steve said, looking over at the Clone Commando, recognizing him and the other three on the field. "Repairman. Nice to meet you, too.
"Glad to be here, Captain Rogers," the repairman said.
"The respected Delta Team is here to help." Steve said with a smile. "Is Voss still driving you crazy?"
"They like to do it, too, you know, Captain Rogers," said Quinlan, who had joined them in the party with the others.
Steve nodded his approval at Keefal, pausing when he saw a light-skinned woman next to Voss.
"Karin Heinz," she introduced herself to him quickly.
"She's the key to us finding you," Black Widow added.
"Then I think I should thank you the most." Steve said seriously.
"Keep it until we get out of here," Karin said with a smile. "It's a good deal to have the Avengers owe me a favor."
Steve shook his head in amusement, then swung his shield forward with all his might.
The twelve-man party now attacked, fighting off the numerous guards and the violent creatures held in the arena below.
There was complete chaos inside and outside the arena.
As this was going on, the ringleader of the operation had gone berserk and at the sight of pure uncontrolled chaos running free across the arena, he looked around frantically and saw that all of the enslaved combatants had broken free of their bonds.
"No! What the hell is going on!?
He quickly fiddled with his communications equipment and contacted the head of the agency.
"Boss." He said fearfully. "We have a situation here!"
"What?" came his employer's bored voice from the other end.
"Avengers, Jedi," he said quickly. "They're coming. They're attacking the arena, and all the slaves have been freed.
"You mean the Avengers?" His employer said interestingly. "I think they're here to rescue their leader, Captain Rogers."
"Yes, sir," the ringleader said in horror. "All the creatures have been freed, and all the gladiators are revolting. What should I do?!
He was silent for a few seconds until...
“Send out Gorog.
Those who were not engaged in battle against the Freedom Gladiators and the invading Republic troops froze in shock and fear.
The leader turned pale when he heard the order.
“—but the constraints of the arena, they haven’t been properly tested. He said in shock.
"Open the Gorog Gate now!" his employer said in a louder voice. "Leave that place to its fate. Best not to dwell on failure."
On the arena floor, Steve and his companions had been clearing the place, systematically defeating the remaining large alien creatures.
By now, the arena had been mostly cleared, with the twelve men standing together.
For the most part, the battle seemed to be coming to an end, until they heard another door open. This one was particularly large than the others, something Steve always noticed when he was in battle.
The others quickly prepared themselves for what awaited them from within.
Sadly, Steve relaxed when he saw a regular Ranker stomping through the passage. This wasn't the first time he'd had to kill one of these things. He'd just defeated one a few minutes ago.
The somewhat calm demeanor the group maintained as they faced the other Rank was broken moments later when a giant three-fingered hand appeared, grabbed the Rank, and dragged it into the dark space between the gates.
"Um..." Scott squeaked. "What's that?"
A second later, Rank was thrown onto the field.
More like, the torn halves of Rank were thrown out, further bloodying the ground.
"Not gross at all," Black Widow said blankly, as the group felt the ground shake and an echoing roar came from the doorway.
"...I have a bad feeling about this. Skywalker muttered to himself, with a deep sense of fear in his expression.
The arena continued to shake and tremble as the impending release drew closer. Seconds later, a massive creature emerged from a door in the ground, roaring. Grey, leathery flesh was scattered across its body. Its head had a metal plate covered in a large scar, with chains attached to the shackles. Four massive fangs protruded from its jaws.
At this point, all the spectators fled the arena in panic.
