Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy
Chapter 245 About Choice
As the fight raged, Grievous cut down a nearby clone trooper. As he looked around for Kenobi, his eyes fell on a Separatist transport plane flying overhead.
"finally come!"
"General Grievous, we see you down there. Are you ready to go?" a battle droid said over his comm.
After cutting down several B-1 droids, Kenobi saw the Separatist ship that had just arrived on the scene. He already knew what was going on, so he gave the order. "Concentrate your firepower on that ship."
The AT-TE moves its cannon and fires at the Separatist transport. Unfortunately it misses, but they might get another chance since it's coming back.
On the other side of the battlefield, Jesse, Kix, and Titans are zooming in on their speeders.
Jesse fired a few rounds from his speeder, noticing the transport and speaking to Kenobi over the comms. "Sir, that ship is coming to try and land again."
Hearing this, Kenobi gave orders to the AT-TE clones. "Keep firing. Don't let that ship get to shore."
Then something unfortunate happened...
"The barrel is overheating!" a clone trooper shouted.
"Always problems," Kenobi muttered, and rushed forward. "Cody, Sam, Jesse, cover me."
The Avengers and clones obeyed, firing at the surrounding B-1s and commando droids.
Grievous was so distracted while blocking enemy blaster fire that he didn't notice the Jedi General coming toward him, but one of his droids alerted him just in time.
"General, behind you!"
Grievous turned, just in time to block Kenobi with his lightsaber.
Pushing the Jedi out of the way, the Separatist droid lurched forward, swinging his lightsaber at his opponent. Both men spun around each other, trying to gain the upper hand in the fight. At one point in their standoff, Grievous untied his cloak and threw it at Kenobi, hoping to temporarily obscure his vision. It barely worked, as Kenobi sliced through the cloak before blocking his enemy's swing.
Inside the Separatist shuttle, Chezzo scoffs at the battle taking place below.
"Lower the ramp."
The droid pilot complied, lowering the ramp in midair. Chezzo walked up and stood at the edge of the ramp. She spotted a piece of debris near several droids that would be knocked out in a matter of minutes.
They will undoubtedly corner the robot general.
She called out with the Force, lifting several pieces and throwing them in the direction of the clones. Shouts of shock and surprise filled the air, and Sam looked around frantically until an invisible "force" pushed him into the air, spinning him for a moment.
It didn't take much for the robot general to figure out who was helping him.
The Sith waiter said. "Grievous, we have to go.
When the cyborg didn't respond to her, she used the Force to leap into the air, landing on the escape pod before leaping back to the ship again.
"Do not attempt to land!" Grievous ordered the pilot droid to climb aboard the escape pod. Once on top, he fired a grappling line that quickly attached to the Separatist's hull. "Fire the engines!"
The Separatist ship moved forward, quickly grabbing Grievous and pulling him into the air. The clones opened fire on the Separatist general, who simply knocked the bullets back with his lightsaber.
"Goodbye, scum of the Republic!"
Sam went after them. As he got closer, he fired at the ship. However, as he spun in the air again, he was thrown off course. After stabilizing himself, he saw Chezzo waving mockingly, while Grievous climbed aboard the ramp before it closed. The enemy ship was well beyond his reach before he could pursue them again.
"I really hate that bitch." Sam roared loudly; his fists clenched tightly in anger.
Back on the ground, Kenobi saw what had happened and shook his head.
"Sir, are you okay?" Cody asked from behind the Jedi General.
"No. We're back to square one," Obi-Wan said in frustration. "Notify the cruisers. See if they can stop that ship."
"Right away, sir."
"Tell them to send someone to pick us up."
Kenobi returned to the ground, and Sam joined him.
"This day... isn't the best, is it?" Falcon asked glumly.
The Jedi Master sighed and placed a friendly hand on Sam's shoulder.
"No, I can safely say it has not," Obi-Wan said.
The night came and went, and the Salucami sun rose.
The clones left Carter's home with Captain Rex not long ago.
He reunited with General Kenobi and the rest of his brothers, and soon after, they all left the planet and returned to Coruscant.
……
It had been several days since they returned to Coruscant.
During that time, Ace Kos was given a proper Jedi funeral, attended by the entire Jedi Council, as well as hundreds of other Jedi Knights, either in person or via holographic transmission.
It was a sad day, with Scott, Hope, and Kos's clone teams all hit particularly hard by the losses.
Kos ends up essentially sacrificing himself to protect Hope, Scott, and his men.
A noble end for a noble Jedi Knight.
At the moment, Captain Rex was sitting in a small lounge area, and he found himself with Team Domino, Anakin, Ahsoka, and the Avengers.
What topics did they discuss?
A certain peasant he had met in Salucami.
"I can't turn Carter in. It's my responsibility, but I just can't do it. Rex said, slouching slightly in his seat.
"So what did you do?" Steve Rogers asked.
"Nothing. Lying that I didn't see him, or just fell asleep at the thing going on at the farm." Rex admitted loudly.
"Really?" Anakin asked in surprise.
"Yeah." Rex nodded. "I...know what I have to do..."
"But seeing what Carter did and what he believed in..." War Machine said.
Rex nodded, understanding what he meant.
“He’s a deserter, but he’s certainly not a coward.
"Well, it took a lot of courage for you to make that choice, Rex. Anakin said, placing a comforting hand on the captain's shoulder.
"General, how can you be sure?" Rex asked.
"We all have choices, Rex," Steve said. "You have yours, and we have ours. Sometimes... we don't always know if we've chosen the right course of action. We just have to deal with it when the time comes."
"How can you be sure?" Five asked.
"I'm not sure," Steve admitted. All we can really do is take it one step at a time and hope the galaxy doesn't turn into chaos on our hands.
After that, the room was mostly silent. Everyone in the room had a strange feeling that couldn't be fully described.
All they can do is sit, stand, or lean as they focus on the real source of this conversation.
