Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy
Chapter 223 Bored Spider-Man
Matt, Captain America and Black Widow are gone for now.
Scott and Hope are with Mr. Rhodes, working on their equipment while they search for… They still haven't decided on a name for the baby, Yoda, who often waddles into their room. Is it Kevin? Or did they go with Dylan? Maybe Jack. Whatever the name, these three are busy.
Pietro left earlier. Something about a date.
"A date." Peter mused in his mind. "With an alien. Might as well be Star Trek by now.
Ahsoka and Barriss were somewhere in the temple, but he couldn't find them.
And Sam…was somewhere too.
This means that it temporarily allows Peter to do exactly what he wants.
Then what should be done?
Young Spider-Man perched high above the Jedi Temple, overlooking the entrance to the grand structure. In front of him was the city-planet that the Avengers had called their temporary home since arriving here. He was in costume, with a mask in his hands.
Are they in the Milky Way?
Or somewhere else entirely? Another galaxy or... another universe.
The idea of the multiverse is certainly something that intrigues him greatly, as it does terrify him. In theory, the multiverse is a realm of infinite realities and possibilities, where anything that can happen will happen. Therefore, being in one of them is not something Peter is willing to assume.
Not really ready for something like this yet.
Peter shook his head, staring at his mask, then put it on his head. He leaped forward and fired a web, flying away at full speed.
If he's going to be here for a while, might as well get to know the planet a little better. Sounds like a much better idea than sitting in an emotionless temple.
It was a really refreshing feeling to just wander around the buildings on Coruscant, and honestly, he should do it more often whenever he was here and not on a battlefield or searching for other missing Avengers.
Hopefully the Prince of Wakanda is alright. Even though their time together was short, the guy used his powers to help him and Matt try to keep the powerful criminals that came to New York out of there.
Where is he now, lost somewhere among these many planets. And then there is Wanda Maximoff and Vision who are still missing. The Avengers have been here for a while now, and there are only a few days left before they can go home for Christmas and New Year.
Peter cringed inwardly at the mere thought of it, and put those thoughts to the back of his mind for the moment.
Now, he just wanted to hang out for a while, maybe clear his head… and maybe get into some trouble to keep himself busy.
Spider-Man performed a speeding spin in the air, which of course attracted the attention of all who spotted him, and some pointed him out openly. They were quite surprised to see such a man leaping and weaving among many flying vehicles and ships while swinging so easily. Some thought he was a Jedi.
Aside from the seemingly effortless grace, fancy moves and the like it seems like the only plausible idea that he could accomplish such a feat.
For Spider-Man, it's as easy as breathing.
When he first gained these powers and began swinging the web, it took him some experimentation to correct his mistakes.
He landed on a terrace, the civilians were slightly shocked by his sudden appearance, and he stood up and waved to them.
"Sorry, guys." Peter said sheepishly. "Just passing through, don't worry. I'm with the Avengers.
When it comes to the Avengers, some people are curious, some are stunned, and some are confused. It is obvious that the Avengers are beginning to attract more and more attention throughout the galaxy through their actions.
Of course, some people don't know them, but over time they will hear the name of the team.
Still, it was certainly a surprise to some to witness one of these Avengers walking around on the holographic network. What a strange outfit this guy was wearing. It looked like tight spandex.
Spider-Man looked around, ignoring the looks he received until his eyes widened and a smile spread across his face. He chuckled softly and trotted over to a small booth where the owner was serving a few people some of his own original recipes.
"Hey, Galen," Peter called out, waving at him.
The Twi'lek he had met when he first arrived on the planet jumped at the sound of his name and turned to see a brightly colored figure walking up to his stall. Blinking, a smile began to form on his face as he recognized the man who had saved him a few weeks ago from the damned thugs that had been harassing him for months.
"Well, well, isn't that my hero," the Twi'lek said boisterously. "How are you doing, Spider-Man?"
"Oh, you know, the usual," Peter said with a shrug.
"I'm sorry, kid, but I don't know your definition of normal." The Twi'lek said in a dry tone, making Spider-Man laugh.
"Right. Glad to see you're doing well, Garen." Spider-Man said, leaning against the food stand. "I'm surprised you remember me, to be honest."
"How could I forget the colorful weirdo who saved my life?" Garen asked with an amused snort. "It's hard to forget someone like you."
"Alright," Spider-Man muttered and Garen groaned.
"What can I do for you, kid?" Garen asked. "Feeling a little hungry today?"
Peter shrugged. "Not yet. Just wanted to get out for a while, to be honest."
"I can imagine." Garen nodded in understanding as he prepared his next order. "Saw you on the holonet recently. You were sent to Geonosis again.
"Did you see it?"
"It's hard not to." Gallon said with a shrug. "Everything on the HoloNet is news of the war, update after update. Though I hear more and more about these Avengers showing up on the battlefield alongside the Jedi and the clones. The Supreme Chancellor keeps talking about you personally."
"Oh, I don't know." Peter muttered. "What did he say?"
“I don’t know,” Garen admitted. “I didn’t really care in the first place. Just hearing your name and all.
"Okay." Peter nodded. "So, is there any new food this time? Now I have the points to pay for it.
Garen smirked. "Well, I've been trying a new recipe, if you're willing to try it."
"Of course." Spider-Man said. "Anything is better than some rations I have to eat."
The Twi'lek nodded and began to cook for Spider-Man.
As time passed, Peter and Garen chatted, telling the former more details about the planet Coruscant.
It turned out that the entire planet was a true metropolis, built on layer upon layer, adding cities over and over. When asked about the surface of the planet, all he got was a chuckle, saying that he wasn't sure if Coruscant had any more surface than the thousands of layers of cities.
This is certainly surprising, to say the least.
He's been so busy learning about the Jedi Order, the history of the galaxy in general, that he hasn't actually had time to learn about the planet he currently resides on with the rest of the Avengers. The thought of there being 5000+ level cities on this planet is just crazy to him.
What does the bottom look like?
These thoughts and conversations dominated his time with Garen until…
"You're here." A familiar voice came from above.
After blinking, they both looked up to see none other than the falcon flying towards them.
"Hey Sam, what's up?"
"What's wrong? Where have you been?" Falcon asked, crossing his arms in front of him.
“You know, around. Had to leave the Temple at some point.
Sam would object to this, but frankly, if he was honest with himself, he had always longed to do the same thing. All this traveling and fighting on other planets wore him out sometimes.
"Okay, so what the hell are you doing here?" Falcon asked, looking towards the Twi'lek vendor.
“Oh, you know.” Peter shrugged, holding up his meal. “Just eating local cuisine.”
“Hmph…what’s the benefit?
Peter turned to Garen, who got the hint and pulled out another prepared tray of food, handing it to the pilot.
As Sam was about to eat, the sirens of Coruscant sounded. The two Avengers looked up and saw several ships speeding past with the Coruscant police, and even two LAAT gunships flying behind them.
"Wow." Peter blinked. "That looks serious."
"Yeah." Sam said slowly. "It is true."
The older Avenger turned and looked at the younger hero, who he clearly saw was now quite anxious.
"If it means that much to you—"
"Oh, okay, thank you!"
Without a word, Peter fired a web into the sky. Quickly, he jumped into the air and quickly swung towards where the action was.
Sam blinked, then couldn't help but shake his head himself, a grin on his face.
"Mad kid."
He stretched out his arms, folded his wings, and deployed his backpack thrusters to full blast. The Falcon took to the air, chasing Spider-Man at full speed.
Sam had to admit.
It certainly beats sitting in the temple all day doing nothing.
