Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy

The two walked into the luxurious building, and Satine led Matt down the hallway to the room where Vizsla was waiting for them. Once inside, they saw Vizsla holding a data pad, typing on it.

"Forgive me, Duchess. I am writing a letter of condolence to the family of the deceased and arranging for them to retrieve his body.

"Of course, Governor. It will be a good fit. General Kenobi will join us shortly," Satine told Vizsla.

“He said he needed to meditate,” Matt added.

"Ah, the ancient Jedi tradition of meditation." Vizsla chuckled. "Some have taken up this practice in days gone by. I once practiced it myself. Unfortunately, I gave it up due to the demands of the governing government.

“Maybe you should give it a try,” Matt said. “I’ve learned to try to do it throughout the day when I need it most. It helps relieve stress once in a while.”

"Oh? Can I ask what you do for a living, Mr. Murdoch?"

"I'm a lawyer."

Vizsla was laughing out loud now. “You have indeed chosen a very stressful job, Mr. Murdoch. I do not envy the job you have to endure.”

Matt just smiled affably, but as his thoughts raced, he began to notice some unusual hints and gestures from the Vizsla Governor. Something was wrong here.

He was going to find out what it was.

Meanwhile, Master Kenobi...

Arriving at one of the mining facilities, Obi-Wan walked inside. Passing through the dark tunnels, he soon encountered light. He scanned the area and saw that the place was not abandoned, as he had been led to believe by the lights in the mines. He looked at a nearby wreck and saw that it was also in use, as the Mandalorian armor and weapons were newly crafted.

Kenobi looked back toward the center of the mine for a moment, approaching the newly created collection of jetpacks and helmets.

He picked one up and examined the familiar T-shaped visor on the Mandalorian's helmet when he heard someone running towards him from behind.

Obi-Wan turned in time to see a heavily armed Mandalorian firing at him. The Jedi raised his helmet as a makeshift shield, and the Mandalorian knocked him to the ground.

Kenobi quickly stood up and ignited his lightsaber, only to find that his attacker had disappeared.

Obi-Wan called out to the Mandalorian as he slowly stepped forward, hoping to avoid a confrontation. "I am on a diplomatic mission under the protection of the Duchess of Sardin."

"We do not recognize her rule." Mando stood up from his cover and ran towards Obi-Wan, firing at him.

As the Mandalorian got closer, Kenobi performed a spinning kick on the man's blaster and knocked it out of his hand.

However, moments later, one of Obi-Wan's weapons was shot out of his hand by another Mandalorian standing on an elevated control terminal.

Obi-Wan quickly engaged the nearest Mandalorian, unleashing a barrage of attacks, but was overpowered after only a few moments, as two of the Mandalorians grabbed his arms and struck back. As soon as he looked up, he was struck in the face by a boot, knocking him unconscious.

Back to Satine and Matt.

They both sat at the table and Vizsla poured them both a glass of wine.

"Alien alcohol." Matt chuckled to himself. "This is a first."

"Someone is feeding false information directly to the Republic Senate that the Death Watch is taking over Mandalore. Who benefits from these lies?" Satine asked in a somber tone.

"Deathwatch, of course," Vizsla said, because it was obvious to him.

"They couldn't have designed this," Sartin said. "This problem is clearly much bigger than we thought. I suspect some external force helped it."

"Unbelievable. It must be the man with the highest influence among the Separatists.

"Separatists?" Matt said loudly. "Why are the Separatists involved in all this?"

"Then why are they targeting me?" asked Satine.

Vizsla simply smiled in response to her question. "Duchess, I'm surprised you don't see it. You lead the Neutral Systems Council. As such, you threaten the Separatists' goals." He raised his glass in her direction. "Take it as a compliment. A very powerful person is working for your downfall."

They all drank and entered into silence.

"Governor Vizsla," Matt began. "With all due respect, what do you personally know about the Deathwatch?"

Vizsla grunted and wiped his mouth. "I know they were a threat from the bombings that occurred on Mandalore. Attacking civilians. Nothing but barbarity. I may be proud of our ancient warrior culture and traditions, but the death of innocent people is inexcusable."

Matt heard the passion but didn't feel it.

"I agree." Matt also said. "How much do you know about the Protector?"

The man's hesitation was so subtle that it was almost imperceptible. Yet Matt felt it all the same. He immediately noticed the change in the man's tone and intonation.

"I haven't heard of other Mandalorians, the Death Watch is so close to home." Vizsla said slowly. "Only from what I've been able to pick up from time to time. They follow a different set of codes and ethics than the Death Watch and the New Mandalorians.

The man rubbed his arm and his brow twitched slightly. Sadin didn't notice it, but for someone like Matt...

Judging from his reaction, that arm... yes, it was bruised. In fact, Governor Vizsla's body seemed to be a little tense now as he paid attention to his breathing and heartbeat.

Though it was contained, Matt recognized the breath of a man who had recently been in a fight. He knew the wonders of bacta technique, but even that didn't always fully heal a man's ego.

"What have you heard, Governor?" Matt probed as friendly as possible. "I find myself increasingly curious about the number of Mandalorian factions."

"This... is different," Vizsla said, before changing the subject. "General Kenobi's meditations take quite a while."

What they didn't know was Obi-Wan's current predicament.

"You know the Jedi. They don't do things halfway," Satine said.
