Chapter 2 Welcome to Naboo
The piercing sound was the only memory in Captain America's mind when he woke up.
He curled up on the ground and groaned in pain. A suffocating numbness surged through his body, almost making it impossible for him to concentrate. His hands subconsciously hugged his aching head.
Captain America sat up with great effort, and felt a solid wall behind him, against which he had been leaning. After slowly regaining consciousness, he rubbed his eyes, and after blinking several times, his vision slowly returned.
Looking around, he found himself in an alley. When he stood up by willpower, he felt dizzy. He looked down and saw the shield lying quietly at his feet.
Cap breathed a sigh of relief when he saw his weapons and comrades, grabbing his shield from the ground and placing it on his back.
A groan not far away caught Captain America's attention. He turned around and found that it was his good friend Falcon who fought alongside him.
Captain America breathed a sigh of relief when he saw his teammate, and quickly walked over to him and called out.
"Captain?" Falcon asked doubtfully, then shook his head, trying to get rid of the dizziness that kept lingering in his mind, "What happened?"
Captain America shook his head and helped Falcon to stand up.
Falcon leaned weakly against the wall and asked, "Where are the others?"
Captain America frowned and said, "I don't know. I just woke up too. You're the first person I saw. Do you remember anything?"
Falcon rubbed his swollen head, concentrated on recalling the strange things that happened before, and said slowly: "I can only remember the laboratory in the Hydra base and the strange light, and the gyroscope spinning like crazy. Then... I woke up and came here."
It seems that Falcon's situation is exactly the same as his. Captain America looked around, turned on his quantum communicator, and tried to contact everyone with a glimmer of hope, but all he got was silence. He gritted his teeth and tried again: "Whoever can hear, please speak."
He was answered by another oppressive silence.
"Black Widow? Ant-Man? War Machine?" Captain America tried again without giving up.
"Captain, I haven't been able to contact anyone here either." Falcon said dejectedly. He was finally able to stand firmly now.
Captain America sighed in frustration and looked up at the sky until a burst of laughter came. He turned and walked to the exit of the alley, and found several children running past, seemingly chasing something.
"Did that mysterious gyroscope teleport us to some unknown place?" Falcon speculated, staring at the surrounding area.
"Maybe." Captain America said as he walked forward, "Now we can take it one step at a time."
The two men walked out of the alley carefully and found that they were standing under a beautiful and strange building that they had never seen before. They were surrounded by aliens because they found that these people had long faces and fin-like ears. One or two of them had human appearance, but the exposed skin color was completely blue.
Captain America and Falcon soon discovered some soldiers because they were wearing almost pure white armor that completely covered their bodies from head to toe, and each of them held a rifle in his hand.
"Captain, we're definitely not in Kansas anymore," Falcon muttered to Captain America, who could only nod blankly.
Looking around, he saw the soldiers in white armor and other civilians walking around. In the sky, spaceships were flying back and forth, and several spaceships were flying in one direction. Captain America looked in the direction the spaceships were flying and saw a huge and magnificent palace in the distance.
"They are definitely military men," Falcon muttered to himself, observing the white armored soldiers standing around.
"Maybe they can help us." Falcon said, looking at the soldiers.
"Maybe." Captain America rubbed his chin and muttered to himself, staring at the children running around on the terrace. The person leading the group of children was obviously a teacher. Some people noticed them and looked at the two of them with curious expressions on their faces.
Just then, the soldiers who had been on duty in the area finally noticed the two men who were dressed unusually, both of them seemed confused about where they were.
"Uh... do you know who those two guys are?" an armored soldier closest to the two said into their communicator.
"I don't know, are they robots?" said the second soldier, shrugged.
"That's definitely not the case," the first soldier said. "Sergeant Buck, do you know what they are? They don't look threatening."
Sergeant Barker was easier to distinguish among the six armored soldiers because he had green markings on his helmet and shoulder straps.
"Everyone stay where you are. I'll go take a look," said Sergeant Buck, walking forward to communicate with the two strangers.
Captain America and Falcon both noticed a soldier coming over, and they looked at him with forced calmness.
"Sir, please show your identification," Sergeant Buck said politely.
"Captain Steve Rogers." Captain America said.
"Lieutenant Sam Wilson." Falcon also said the same thing.
Both men introduced themselves in crisp, military style. They had no identification. However, after spending some time on this planet, Buck knew that certain situations required a frank approach to communication.
"I'm Sergeant Barker of the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic," he introduced himself, saluting them both. Although he didn't know either of them, their tone and actions made it clear that they did hold rank.
The two men glanced at each other, then took turns saluting Sergeant Buck.
Sergeant Buck's eyes flashed with doubt. Apart from immigrants, not many people would make such a salute.
"No offense to you," Captain America said, "but my companions and I are a bit helpless here."
"What we mean by 'helpless' is that we don't know where we are," Falcon said bluntly, looking at Sergeant Buck.
"Uh...what?" Sergeant Buck didn't react for a moment.
Captain America quickly put on a friendly smile and said warmly, "I can tell you and promise you that we are not here to cause trouble. We were on a mission, something unexpected happened, and the two of us found ourselves...where the hell is this place?"
Sergeant Barker finally understood what the two were talking about and replied, "You are now in Theed, the capital of Naboo."
"Naboo?" Captain America and Falcon repeated in confusion, "What is Naboo?"
Sergeant Buck stared at Captain America and Falcon, somewhat unconvinced that they would ask such a question, but he still patiently explained: "Naboo. Do you know Naboo? It is one of the most powerful allies and supporters of the Galactic Republic."
"Planet Naboo" was the only name the two Avengers remembered. They slowly turned around and looked at each other, trying to confirm whether they had heard Sergeant Buck correctly.
"Another planet?" Falcon muttered to himself, trying to digest this news which was difficult to accept for a while.
"It seems that we now know what Hydra is doing, but it is meaningless to know it now." Captain America whispered bitterly.
"Are you two okay?" Sergeant Buck asked with concern.
"I'm sorry." Captain America lowered his head slightly and said, "Listen... Sergeant Buck, I'm not sure how we got here, but we are definitely not from this planet."
Buck didn't show much surprise after hearing this. He said seriously, "I guessed it. From your clothes and words and deeds, you don't look like the Naboo here."
"Damn it." Falcon cursed in a low voice, "What should we do now? Let's not talk about the two of us, the key is that we don't know where the others are now."
Captain America said in a rare frustrated tone, "I don't know either. All of this is extremely unfamiliar to me."
Falcon shook his head and crossed his arms in thought.
