Marvel crosses Star Wars, and everyone attacks the galaxy
Chapter 181 Successfully Escaped
"This isn't going to work," Ahsoka gasped. "We're going to be trapped!"
"What should we do?" Barris asked, pushing a robot away from the bomb.
Spider-Man weaved his way around the room from above, taking out every robot that stood in his way while deftly avoiding everything he could at the same time.
Landing on top of the plant's main reactor, Spider-Man's eyes darted around for a moment before landing on the tactical robot that had just been standing there. It hadn't moved, hadn't done anything in this little battle.
Just looking there, eyes glowing red.
Spider-Man shook his head and continued to scan the area, he looked at the tank that hadn't moved. The robot inside had been disposed of and had been there ever since.
Completely unscathed.
Blasters bounced off the tanks without leaving any trace, and Barris even threw explosives at the tank at one point, with the explosion leaving no sign of damage.
"Ahsoka, Barris." Spider-Man called to the two. "Tank!"
Both girls looked towards the stationary tank, took a quick look, and nodded in agreement.
The girls saw that there were at least a dozen bombs now held in place by spider webs. However, Barris thought that was not enough.
"Peter." Barris held up the backpack filled with the remaining explosives. She tossed it to him, asking him to grab it with his web and throw it over the top of the reactor.
Spider-Man picked up the package, crouched down, and broke one of the droids with a powerful kick. Backflipping under the incoming fire, he soon saw Ahsoka being carried away by the Geonosians and was about to knock her into the reactor above.
"Let me go, you stupid green bugs!"
He leaps into the air, turns around, and hits one of the bug aliens, then another. They let go of Ahsoka, and Spider-Man grabs her.
Landing on the ground, both saw a tank heading towards them. Barriss acted quickly, jumping on it and using her lightsaber to cut through the hatch's locking mechanism. She quickly jumped inside, and Spider-Man and Ahsoka heard the droid making sounds of pain, guessing it was cut down by their friend.
Barriss poked her head out of the hatch and motioned for her friends to enter.
"Is the bomb ready?" Spider-Man asked and Barris nodded.
Ahsoka looked between them both, undecided.
"Do you think the tank will hold up?" Ahsoka asked her.
"It survived a blaster hit. I bet it could survive Barris's plan, not to mention a bombing or a building collapse." Spider-Man quipped.
Ahsoka nodded and raised the communicator on her wrist. "Master, can you hear me?"
The sounds of battle could be faintly heard, with Anakin's voice standing out more. "Ahsoka, detonate the bombs! We can't hold on any longer!
Ahsoka just sighed and gave a sad smile. "I'm sorry, Master. We're too late.
"Can't get out?!" Anakin exclaimed. "Ahsoka, wait!"
"Kid." Falcon's voice suddenly interrupted. "What the hell is going on?!"
"Nothing, just working." Spider-Man began to shoot webs inside the tank.
After getting a nod from her friends, Ahsoka pressed a button on the controller to start the blast, causing various explosions, including the entire foundry.
Instantly, the Padavas and Avengers could feel the force of the black blast passing through the tanks and hitting them, knocking them unconscious quickly.
Outside, the Jedi and Avengers were horrified and shocked as they watched the factory begin to fall apart before them.
Thick smoke from the explosion enveloped the entire battlefield, temporarily blinding the Republican Army.
Dust still hung in the air, but the Avengers and Jedi had summoned their gunships and had their clones search the wreckage for the three teenagers.
"Ahsoka," Anakin said desperately over the comms. "Ahsoka, can you hear me?"
Luminara knelt on the ground and prayed silently, her face solemn but also sad.
"We will find them, Luminara," Anakin soothed.
"Relax, Skywalker," Luminara said calmly.
"Relax?" Anakin said incredulously. "Now is not the time to relax. We need to act now, our Padawan needs our help.
"Where could they be?" Falcon muttered.
"Are they still alive under these ruins?" Ella muttered.
"They must be alive." Captain America said firmly, "We will find them."
"There is not enough time," Luminara said grimly.
"Then we'll use this time to find them." Captain America said loudly. "Rex, get everyone moving now. We won't leave here until we find them.
"Roger that, sir," Rex saluted, joining his men as they now made their way through the destroyed factory.
Spider-Man woke up weakly, soon gasping for air and then coughing. He quickly took off his mask, hoping to get more air through the mask filter before trying to find his friends. He reached out and grabbed their arms, then gently shook them awake, hoping they were okay.
"Barriss? Ahsoka?
The two Padavas woke up with a start, only to see darkness all around them. The electronic equipment in the tanks that once illuminated the space was no longer functioning.
“Are you all right?
"I'm fine, Peter," Ahsoka said.
"Me too," Barris groaned.
The Padava drew their lightsabers, careful not to point them at each other. Blue and green light ignited them, helping to illuminate the space.
“How deep do you think we are buried?” Barris asked.
"It's hard to say." Ahsoka said, "It's best to think about it." She turned her head and tried to look around, and found something next to Barriss. "Give me that power battery."
"What?" Spider-Man asked, and Barris held out his hand.
"I want to try and signal the others through my wrist communicator to let them know we're still alive."
Spider-Man nodded, then remembered his Avengers ID card. "Maybe mine will work better." He quickly patted himself down, trying to find it, only to find it was gone. "I remember that I had it with me."
"what are you saying?"
"My Avengers card," he replied, "It has much better coverage than the wrist comms, and runs on its own power source."
The Padawan nodded, and it wasn't long before they found it.
"I found it," Barriss said, trying to grab it. She couldn't because the collapse made the space too small, and she even tried to use the Force, but the card seemed to be firmly embedded in the ground.
In the end, Spider-Man said "sorry" while crawling close to Barris' body. The embarrassing scene was eased after Spider-Man got the card.
He nervously activated the distress signal, hoping that others would reach them in time.
Back up there, the Jedi, Clones, and Avengers are trying to find their allies.
"If they really--"
"They will find a way," Anakin snapped at Luminara. "They have to."
Gunships began arriving, lifting debris from the rubble, and the Avengers, Anakin, and the clones kept searching through the ruins.
"Ahsoka, where are you?" Anakin muttered, pacing around with a growing sense of panic.
"They didn't respond," Ayla said, her face stoic.
"They'll find a way out," Captain America said firmly. "They're resourceful, they'll find a way to contact us."
"There's a situation!" Falcon yelled, holding up his Avengers card. "Peter activated his distress signal. They're alive!
"Do you know where they are?"
Falcon nodded and headed towards where the signal seemed to be strongest, using his card for guidance.
Back downstairs, the three teenagers chatted for a while to pass the time.
"Do you think everything will be alright for us?" Ahsoka asked.
"Whatever happens won't matter to us after we've accomplished our mission," Barriss said simply, trying to control her breathing as they ran out of air. "By destroying this plant, we've saved countless lives elsewhere.
Spider-Man muttered, "Luckily, I probably saved three of us."
"What makes you so confident?" Ahsoka asked with a nervous smile.
Metallic sounds could be heard from inside the tank. The teenagers wondered what was happening. They were worried that the tank would be crushed by the waste. However, their worries proved to be unfounded, as the creaking noises grew louder, and then the hatch was pried open, bringing them bright light and fresh dusty air.
"Did you see that? Now do you believe that I saved the three of us?" Spider-Man asked with a smile, and the girls nodded.
Soon, a familiar figure blocked the light. "Glad to see you're okay."
"Nice to meet you, Rex," Ahsoka said, coughing.
The Clone Captain helped them out of the tank, and they were soon surrounded by their allies. The three climbed out of the blast zone with the help of their friends.
"I knew you would come looking for me," Ahsoka said.
He had a hard time hiding his worry, but Anakin tried his best. "I never doubted you for a second."
"Padawan, you have done very well," said Barris's master.
"Thank you." Barris waved to her friends, and more importantly Spider-Man. "But if it weren't for Peter, we'd still be trapped.
Spider-Man smiled shyly.
"If it weren't for Ahsoka, we would have a bit of a hard time dealing with the droids. She's leading us.
"Indeed." Aayla smiled at Skywalker's Padawan. "It's good to know that your Master never lost faith in you."
Anakin only gave her a proud smile, while Ahsoka smiled gratefully.
"You're such a good boy," Captain America said, patting Spider-Man on the back.
"That feels good," Spider-Man joked tiredly.
When the gunboat began to descend from a high altitude, the boys finally fell down from exhaustion.
