Chapter 76 The robber is coming

As for Paul, he was very supportive of Jacques' plan to study at the college in Lionheart City.

"Master Jacques is still young, so he should really seize the time to lay a good foundation." Paul said as he bit off a large piece of barbecue. "Anyway, with Master Jacques' potential, there will be no pressure on his studies. Come with me in your spare time to absorb some social experience."

"You mean the things that the Church of Light is best at, such as plundering, seizing women by force, and extortion?" Gandalf said sarcastically.

"Haha, otherwise you want Lord Jacques and your mercenary group to dig up corpses, rob graves, steal, rape and plunder?" Paul was also very blunt.

"Is this how you spend your spare time? Can you have some sense of public morality?" Jacques was speechless.

Although they bickered for a while, everyone reached a consensus that Jacques' next stop would be Lionheart, the capital of the Saxon Empire.

After two weeks of hard work, Jacques finally completed his plan. The girls in the Flower Village were all trained by him and became obsessed with growing grapes.

Under Hurd's arrangement, Jacques, Paul, and several accompanying church members set off in the only carriage in the village.

Unlike the world of Jacques's previous life, in the Love Continent, a carriage was considered a very luxurious thing, usually only owned by royal nobles, and most civilians would never have the opportunity to ride a carriage in their entire lives. The two small villages near the border actually had a carriage, all because of Paul.

For Paul, being able to eat and sleep comfortably in the carriage during long journeys had already met his main needs. The only difference was that the facilities in the carriage could not compare with those in the church, so it was relatively less fun.

But for Jacques, it was pure torture.

Jacques, who had never left Marsala before, naturally had never ridden in a carriage, not to mention in his previous life. This was indeed the first time he had ridden in a carriage in his two lifetimes.

"I really don't know what the butts of these people are made of. The road is so bumpy and their butts are flattened." Jacques is definitely a man who can endure hardships, but he only sat there for two days and even with three cushions under his butt, he still complained a lot.

"You've never ridden in a carriage?" Gandalf asked in a tone that was a little unbelievable. "It seems that the world you came from was really very primitive."

Jacques was too lazy to explain to him what a car was, let alone a high-speed train or an airplane, otherwise he would have talked all the way to Lionheart City and never finished.

It was a living torture sitting there every day, sometimes the ride was so bumpy that he couldn't even eat. On the third day, Jacques couldn't stand it any longer: "I don't want to sit here anymore, I'm going to get off and run!" Then he really got off and ran behind the carriage.

I don’t know if you have had this experience: people with poor physical fitness who should improve their physical fitness through exercise often don’t like to exercise, while those with good physical fitness and excellent coordination ability are keen on or even obsessed with exercise.

Jacques now obviously belongs to the latter. After his rebirth, he has acquired extraordinary physical talents. In addition, he has been trained by Gandalf since he was a child. His current physical fitness is probably better than that of many ordinary adults. Physical training has long been a part of his life. Constantly surpassing his own limits is a very satisfying thing.

"Don't match my speed, just drive normally." Jacques instructed the driver.

The carriage wheels did not have any shock absorption or friction reduction system, so it was difficult to run fast. But even so, the carriage was still much faster than Jacques on two legs. In the beginning, Jacques had a hard time catching up. Often, after the carriage arrived at the scheduled destination, it would take an hour or two to see Jacques. But in fact, this was not something a normal person could do.

Lionheart is located in the heart of the Saxon Empire, and it is estimated that it will take another month to reach there by carriage.

"It's a good opportunity for me to improve my physical fitness and endurance during this time. I haven't done much cardiopulmonary exercise before. Although I'm already better than my peers, if I want to get into the best college, I have to be as good as possible," Jacques thought.

A week had passed, and Jacques and his team had already left the hilly area on the southern border and entered the central plains. There were few people here, only stretches of wasteland, and the security situation had obviously deteriorated.

Today, they came to the southern edge of the Great Plains, and encountered a group of tall, fierce-looking guys on the main road connecting villages and major cities in the central region. They piled several damaged carriages in the middle of the road, blocking the way for people passing by.

One carriage looked like it had just been attacked. Several people were smashing the carriage with tools, while others were holding weapons and threatening the passengers, forcing them to hand over their belongings. They also grabbed a girl in a long skirt and tried to molest her.

Behind them, on the remains of many carriages, there was a group of people eating meat and drinking. Behind them was a large flag fluttering in the wind. On it was an undisguised "robber" pattern that anyone could tell at a glance, and underneath the pattern was the words "Bella Crime Group" written intimately.

No matter from which angle you look at it, the arrogance of this group of robbers is a bit too abnormal.
