Farewell Flower Festival

Chapter 1 Time Travel

There was not a cloud in the sky. The dazzling sunlight swept across the mottled palace walls, casting shadows on the ground, exuding a bleak and cold atmosphere.

Chao Yan walked in the shadows, her thin little body seemed like it would evaporate if exposed to the sun. She was carrying a lunch box in her hands. The lunch box was not heavy, but it was a bit difficult for her two thin arms to carry it.

It was not her job to deliver lunch today, but because she offended Yunxiang in the morning, the task of delivering lunch at noon fell on her.

I heard that the fourth prince is a pervert and extremely cruel. He likes to catch mice and eat them, and he also likes to dig out people's eyeballs.

It would be fine if he was just cruel, but why does he like to eat mice? Could it be that the Fourth Prince is carrying some mutated virus? I really don’t want to go there.

"Ah~"

She leaned against the wall in the shadow, looking up at the narrow sky between the palace walls. The hair covering her right eye slipped slightly, revealing a small scar. There was a large scar covering her hair, extending from her forehead to under her right eye. It was a mark left by the fire. Fortunately, her eye was not burned. Her left eye, which was exposed, was slightly glittering with a clear light, but it was not very bright. Because of long-term hunger and malnutrition, her hair had become frizzy and dry, and in the sun it was a light waxy yellow like straw, with split ends.

I really miss my long, beautiful black hair and skin as delicate and smooth as a porcelain doll. Now my frail little body makes me gasp for breath after walking two steps. How am I going to live in the future?

"Ah~"

It all started on that unusual night.

Her name is Lu Chaoyan. She should have been a junior student, but she took a leave of absence due to health reasons and is now recuperating at home. She was born with a bad heart and spent almost all her time in the hospital before she was ten years old. She didn't like the smell of disinfectant in the hospital and the dazzling white ward. When she was ten years old, she had a major operation, which was very successful and she recovered very well. A year later, she was able to go to school normally like her peers. Although she was a little late in entering school, she skipped two grades and caught up with others. Later, she was admitted to her ideal university with excellent grades. She is the so-called "child next door".

The future should have been bright, but during the summer vacation of her sophomore year, she suddenly fainted at home and stayed in the hospital for more than a month before being discharged.

Although her family kept her illness a secret and comforted her that it was nothing serious and that she would recover after a good rest, she could probably guess that it was a relapse of her old illness. As school was about to start, her parents discussed it with her and went to school to apply for her to take a leave of absence. Although it was a pity, she didn't want to worry her family before she fully recovered.

That night, she went to bed early as usual. She had to go to bed before nine o'clock, which was the only rule her parents set for her. When she was about to turn off the lights, a bright flash of lightning suddenly illuminated the room. It was lightning, followed by thunder, the sound was deafening, the windows creaked, and the whole room trembled. The originally peaceful night suddenly changed.

Another bright flash of lightning illuminated the room, and the lights in the room suddenly went out amid deafening thunder.

Just then, something strange happened.

A dazzling light suddenly burst out from the darkness, as if a passage had opened before her eyes. She felt as if her consciousness was sucked into a bottomless vortex, and soon she could no longer feel anything.

……

When I woke up again, the world had changed dramatically.

Chao Yan was awakened by a basin of cold water.

As soon as I opened my eyes, I heard an ugly sound.

Is the ugly thing talking about herself? Chaoyan suspected that she had heard it wrong. If even she was considered ugly, then fairies would be considered passers-by. She was not bragging, but the love letters she had received since she was a child could fill a large box. Anyone who dared to call her ugly must be mentally ill.

"Ugly thing, get up and work!" In front of her stood a haughty girl, dressed like a palace maid in a costume drama, holding an empty basin of water in her hand. It was obvious that it was the other girl who woke her up by splashing water on her.

"I'm talking to you, do you hear me?"

Chaoyan had no time to deal with the other party. She was reading the original owner's memories in her mind. The dynasty she was in now was called Yunmeng, a dynasty she had never heard of in history class. The original owner's name was Xiaolian, a little palace maid who was in charge of making fire in the imperial kitchen. The arrogant girl standing in front of her was called Yunxiang. Relying on the fact that she entered the palace early, she had some face in front of Aunt Li. She always looked superior and especially liked to bully the original owner. She would punish her by not allowing her to eat, not allowing her to go into the house to sleep, and driving her to the yard to freeze all night... Judging from her character setting, she was undoubtedly a vicious female cannon fodder.

Last night, the original owner was driven into the yard by Yunxiang and suffered the cold all night. Then when she woke up, her consciousness occupied the original owner's body. If this is the legendary time travel, then is the original owner no longer here?

"Are you deaf?" Yunxiang raised her hand to slap her, but was startled by Chaoyan's cold glare. Her raised hand stopped in the air without falling. The ugly guy who usually never fought back or retaliated dared to glare at her, which made her a little afraid.

It seems that he is just a cannon fodder who appears to be powerful but is actually weak, Chao Yan thought.

Unwilling to lose face, Yunxiang called two more people to give her courage, one named Xier and the other named Shuanger. With help, Yunxiang's arrogance returned. Chaoyan weighed the three people's bodies and knew that she would not get the upper hand if she confronted them head-on, especially Yunxiang, who looked very fierce. If she really started fighting, she would have to scratch her face with her nails to leave a few bloody marks. It was better to conserve her energy. Her fragile body could not stand the fight with the other party.

Seeing Chaoyan lowering her head in weakness, Yunxiang was very proud and punished her by not allowing her to eat today and not allowing her to sleep in the house at night.

What a vicious cannon fodder, Chao Yan complained in his heart.

Xier whispered a few words into Yunxiang's ear, and Yunxiang smiled triumphantly.

Then, the task of delivering lunch to the Fourth Prince at noon fell on Chao Yan.

The princes in the cold palace usually have a bad end.
