Fantasy Game: Infinite City

Chapter 52: The Third Body

"Ok?"

Han Zu, who was falling rapidly in the air, adjusted his body, preparing for the impact that might come at an unknown time. However, before he landed completely on the ground, he suddenly stopped and just stayed in the air.

I moved my body and felt no restraint, but I felt resistance as I moved, as if I had fallen into water. However, this invisible feeling was slightly thicker than water, a bit like a swamp with more water than mud.

Looking around, Han Zu found the source of this strange feeling. He was surrounded by a wall of flesh and blood made of something unknown. From the blood vessel-like tubes on it, transparent gas was spraying towards him. He was now in the middle of this ball of gas.

I tried to breathe a few times, but nothing happened. It seemed that this body did not contain any toxins. I opened my mouth a little and spit out a small flame, but nothing happened either. It seemed that these gases were non-flammable.

He moved his limbs and swam downwards as if diving. After about ten minutes, he finally swam out of the range of the gas and fell again.

On the way of falling, Han Zu encountered such air masses many times. Although they varied in size, the smallest one was more than ten meters. It took Han Zu two or three hours to finally land on the ground.

"I don't know when the flight system will be online. My primitive way of moving is still too inconvenient."

Shaking his head, Han Zu released the swarm of bees and werewolves to absorb information about the surrounding environment.

However, after they passed the collected information back to Han Zu, Han Zu widened his eyes with an expression of disbelief.

"Shh... No, I have to see it with my own eyes and touch it with my own hands."

Frowning, Han Zu looked in the direction the bees had conveyed to him, preparing to go over and take a look.

"Roar!"

The werewolves in the distance suddenly howled, but the sound was not urgent, so it was probably not that they encountered danger or enemies. It sounded more like they found something interesting.

Han Zu jumped over and found that the werewolves were happily playing with something that was about 1.5 meters in size. Two of them were throwing the thing to each other as if they were playing a ball. When they saw Han Zu coming, the two werewolves brought the thing they were playing with to Han Zu.

"This is...?"

After taking the thing, Han Zu lowered his head and carefully observed the "thing" in his hand. It was a dwarf with a complete body but only skin on the left half.

The dwarf was a male without any clothes. His right half had no skin and was cut neatly in the middle. The strange thing was that the dwarf was still alive, but he was like a robot in standby mode, motionless.

"Um... a woman?"

Han Zu waved his hand in front of the dwarf's face and tried to talk to him, but the dwarf remained motionless and did not respond.

Han Zu put him back on the ground and sorted out the information that he had not been able to organize properly because he had been unbelievable.

The space here was different from the environment he usually saw. It was very bright, and seemed to be a semi-open-air canyon. Through the information sent back by the swarm of bees, Han Zu discovered that he was somewhere in a huge mountain range. Unlike what he had imagined, this was not the body of a giant creature, but actually a canyon covered with strange living tissue. The "passage" where he had just fallen was actually a dormant volcano completely wrapped in this living tissue.

This kind of living tissue, like a dormant human body, mostly maintains the most basic movements, with very slow fluctuations. However, there are a few places where activity is relatively frequent, and these should be relatively important locations.

On the vast ground covered with living tissue, there are many things made of flesh and blood that resemble mechanical devices. However, perhaps because they are buried underground, Han Zu did not find anything like a power source or a reactor.

Not far from Han Zu was a huge square-like area with many life forms similar to the dwarf. Of course, they all seemed to be in standby mode, motionless, and there were large and small missing parts on their bodies, which could be skin, organs, or muscles. Han Zu even saw a humanoid creature that was intact in other places but had no brain and crown, but was still alive.

Han Zu thought of something and began to talk to himself. These creatures were like...

"... a robot that is not fully assembled?"

After finding a relatively critical "organ", Han Zu jumped over. As soon as he landed, he saw something made of flesh and blood, similar to a hibernation capsule, being opened. Two meat balls flew out of it. The size of the meat balls was about the same as the dwarves he had seen before, and in the center of the meat balls was a huge eyeball.

Han Zu stretched his body and prepared for a fight, but the two meat balls did not attack him. Instead, they slowly circled around Han Zu, their huge eyeballs moving back and forth, sizing him up. Perhaps they lost interest or for some other reason, the two meat balls flew back soon after.

"Oh no, what do you mean?"

Scratching his head, Han Zu was confused. He stood there for a while and began to search for the surrounding devices.

Around those hibernation capsules, there was something similar to a control console, with some levers and buttons made of bones on it. The strange thing was that there were unique words written on it, and for some reason, Han Zu could actually understand them.

"Hmm... this thing is actually a monitoring device? Let me see... it's operating at full power... this is it."

By pulling one of the bone levers, all the hibernation capsules were opened, and various large and small flesh balls flew out and scattered to the areas covered by living tissue.

"So these 'detectors' did fly out, but how can I see them...!!"

Many images suddenly appeared in Han Zu's mind. Compared with the perspective of the bee swarm, although the images had no sound, they were still very clear.

"This is...wait."

Han Zu now has thousands of perspectives, large and small, but it does not exceed the load of his body. The patrol distance of the bee colony and these meat balls has been extended several times, covering the entire canyon covered by living tissue and part of the mountain range. Now it can be said that any movement will not escape Han Zu's eyes. Of course, if there is still grass here.

"I don't feel any discomfort in my body. I even feel comfortable. It seems like something is giving me... how should I put it, energy?"

Using the control console, Han Zu set the detection meat balls to automatic patrol mode, then left and headed for another more important facility location.

This is a place similar to an assembly line in a processing plant. Many body parts are hung on mechanical arms made of flesh, blood and bones. However, they are not wreckage, but more like "robots" that have not been fully assembled.

Walking to the center of this "processing plant", Han Zu discovered many instruments that were made of flesh and bones but were very sophisticated. Similarly, Han Zu could still understand the strange words on them.

Looking at the words above, Han Zu opened his mouth and tried to say something several times, but he couldn't say anything. Han Zu wiped his face, took out an "Extinction Order", inhaled and exhaled the smoke, and calmed his emotions.

"What~ I don't believe it. I have to see it with my own eyes. Let me see how this thing works... Hmm... Raw material adder No. 1... Hmm... Found it, this should be it."

Next to a huge container, Han Zu found a control console. Using the bone buttons and pull rods on it, Han Zu successfully started the container.

Some sticky, blood-like substance was transported through transparent tubes made of bones to the center of the venue, a huge workbench on the ground.

"Number two is... ah, right here."

Another device looked like a huge cutting machine, and a cutting sound came from it. Soon, some mechanical arms made of flesh, blood, and bones also transported some bones to the workbench. However, they did not throw the bones into the sticky liquid, but stopped on it.

"Number Three is here."

The third device was a gas tank similar to one for storing gas. Through the device above, several nozzles extended from the bottom of the console and penetrated into the sticky liquid, but no gas was sprayed out.

"Um... the next step should be... let me see... um... choose the appearance? There are quite a few prepared templates here... let me see..."

Coming to the workbench, Han Zu observed the buttons and levers on a huge control console, choosing the "favorite" appearance.

"There's nothing new here. Let me take a look... Hmm? Custom values? Let me take a look... Uh... Got it!"

According to the memory in his mind, Han Zu debugged the buttons and pull rods on the console used to control various data. As Han Zu debugged, the viscous liquid on the workbench and the bones resting on it began to reorganize according to the debugged data and slowly began to change.

"Well, this should be enough. Let me see... The next step should be... starting this."

At the very bottom of the middle of the console, there is a position that can be freely adjusted in size. Inside it looks like an inverted, open palm. Han Zu thought about it, put his hand in, clasped his fingers with the palm inside, and according to the text description next to the console, gently pressed down, and then pushed upwards.

"Om~~"

"Boom~~"

A loud noise was heard, and a transparent cover made of polished bones covered the entire workbench. After the workbench was sealed, the nozzles began to spray out transparent gas. The speed of the gas spraying continued to increase, and at the same time, the gas began to become turbid.

The humming sound continued for half an hour, and with the final burst of steam, the transparent skeletal cover was opened, and a perfect new body appeared on the workbench, suspended on the workbench by some skeletal arms.

Han Zu walked over, reached out his hand, touched the newly created body, and sighed.

"That works... but why is there no sign of life? Did I miss a step? Hmm? What kind of device is this?"

Han Zu turned around and found a small control console on the back of the workbench. There was no text on the console, only a groove that seemed to be used to collect liquid. There was a small hole in the center of the groove. Looking down through the hole, it seemed to be connected to some pipeline.

"Hmm... there's no useful liquid here. Those sticky liquids probably can't pass through the narrow pipes below... Got it!"

Han Zu stretched his arm in front of his face, opened his mouth wide and bit a wound. Blood began to flow out of the wound. While the wound had not healed yet, Han Zu placed his arm on the groove of the console. His blood flowed along the groove, into the small hole, and was transported to an unknown place through the narrow pipe below.

The wound on the arm was quickly repaired, and the workbench began to make operating sounds again. Some tubes made of flesh and blood stretched out from the ground and pierced into the body of the newly created body in an orderly manner from the spine.

“Crash…”

"Bah..."

Along with the sound of liquid flowing and the sound of gas produced by pushing them, some liquid was transported into the body, which should be Han Zu's blood.

"Let me see if it works this time."

The transportation time was very short, but the pipelines did not detach immediately after the transportation was completed, but remained in place.

The changes in the body ended quickly, but the body still showed no signs of life.

"It seems that this thing is still a bit complicated, it should be..."

"boom."

“Gulp…”

Before Han Zu could finish his words, the body suddenly collapsed and turned into a pool of black liquid.

"Ah, it seems that won't work. I'll try those preset templates."

Through those consoles, Han Zu selected the monitoring meatballs he had seen before. Soon, a monitoring meatball was generated, and without even using the small console that required blood, the meatball came to life and flew up.

"Really? These facilities are actually..."

"The Engine of Creation."

Another voice suddenly sounded, and the source of the voice was on Han Zu's left. Han Zu turned his head and saw a humanoid creature. He couldn't tell the gender, and it looked completely unrelated to humans. It looked more like a... elf with pointy ears.

"Elves?"

"Almost. I was indeed created according to the description of the elves by humans."

"Made it? You mean, you and these meat balls..."

"Yes, we are one species at heart."

"Wait, but you have the ability to think for yourself, which means that we humans can too..."

"Humans are also the product of the Creation Engine. Of course, it's not just this one. You got one thing wrong. It's not 'you' humans. You are not human."

"I know, now I..."

"No, I mean, you have nothing to do with humans. You just look like them."

"What do you mean? I..."

"Your creation has come to you."

"what?"

The body that Han Zu had created before disintegrated into black liquid, surged towards Han Zu, wrapped around Han Zu's body, and was quickly absorbed by Han Zu's body.

For some unknown reason, Han Zu's swarm of bees flew back on their own. The werewolves did the same and quickly returned to Han Zu's body.

"You did it?"

"No, I don't have that ability. It's your own body that sent out the signal to recall them."

"I do not know how?"

"You don't know yourself well enough."

Han Zu was just about to ask the elf why he knew so much about him, even though he had never met him, but the elf put its hand on Han Zu first.

The system panel of the Infinite City suddenly appeared without Han Zu actively summoning it. The panel turned into a bunch of garbled characters and made a noisy electric sound.

"Crack!"

A white lightning suddenly struck Han Zu, bathing him in the lightning. Han Zu turned into white light and disappeared.

After Han Zu disappeared, the elf restored the buttons of each console to their original positions, then took out something that looked like half an arm and pressed it a few times. The living tissue on the ground next to it suddenly began to surge, and something made of flesh and blood, which looked like a means of transportation, was pushed out from the living tissue.

After getting on the vehicle, the elf pressed a few times at the thing that looked like half an arm again, and the vehicle started and drove away into the distance.

After a while, the real world was empty.

"Bang!"

"Fuck, it's messing with my mentality."

Han Zu suddenly appeared from the air, fell heavily to the ground, cleaned the dirt and dust on his body, and looked at the surrounding environment. It was not far from his warehouse, on a hillside.

"Little thing with pointy ears, don't let me run into you again."

Taking out an "Extermination Order", Han Zu smoked a cigar and walked back to his warehouse.

"What~ I'd better ask if there is any information when the time comes."

Han Zu opened the door of the warehouse and walked in.
