Fantasy Game: Infinite City

Chapter 19 A unique world

The cabin was not big, so Han Zu could only crawl out of the cockpit. The cockpit was too small, so he could only stick his head in.

"Both pilots and the flight attendant disappeared."

Han Zu took out his cell phone and typed.

“How much fuel is left on the plane?”

"Sixty to seventy percent. They always refuel before taking off. According to estimates, we should have arrived in City C by now, but we are still in the sky."

"Do you know where we are now?"

"I don't know. There are clouds below. I can't see anything."

“Is the aircraft’s autopilot system the latest or a previous generation?”

"The newest one, this plane was bought four months ago."

"That's fine. The plane has an automatic cruise control system that can automatically find or manually locate a suitable landing location. There should be a pilot's manual in the cockpit. Look for it and see how to operate the automatic cruise control system."

"Row."

The plane was still flying smoothly, which made Lu An feel better and not so nervous. There was enough fuel, so Lu An searched the cockpit carefully and found the pilot's manual in a small cabinet.

The new generation of automatic cruise system is very easy to operate, so even Lu An, who has no flying experience, quickly debugged the automatic cruise system according to the instructions in the manual.

"Okay, once the plane passes through this cloud, it will automatically find a suitable landing site. We just need to wait now."

"I think you can learn how to fly a plane when you have time. It seems like a very useful skill nowadays."

Han Zu didn't seem nervous, he even had the mind to tease Lu An.

"Aren't you nervous at all? At this altitude, if the plane crashes, we will definitely die."

"After changing jobs in the Infinite City, you can bring a skill to the real world, so I am not worried. I can leave at any time. Although I don't fully understand your job now, you don't look too panicked, so I guess you have a corresponding method. In this case, what is there to worry about?"

"Aren't you worried about your dogs?"

“This one.”

Han Zu still couldn't speak, but whistling wouldn't affect him.

"~!"

A sharp whistle came out of Han Zu's mouth, and two death hounds stood up, bumped into Han Zu, and then disappeared.

"~!"

Another whistle sounded, and the hounds suddenly appeared beside Han Zu, as if they had jumped out of Han Zu's body.

"Ah?! There is such a thing? How did you do it?"

"I don't know either. I found it by chance on my way back to the village after paying homage to our ancestors yesterday."

Lu An hit Han Zu, who was lying on the ground, twice with his head. Han Zu was so upset that he kept typing on his phone.

"...What are you doing?"

"Curious, curious..."

After a few minutes, the plane passed through the clouds and began to descend steadily. After leaving the clouds, Lu An could see the situation below through the cockpit glass. It seemed to be a huge mountain range with a circle of snow around the top of the mountain. From this angle, the scenery was beautiful.

When the plane flew over the mountains, there was a plain with a huge lake on it. There was a winding river connecting the mountains to the lake, which should be the source of the lake.

Outside the lake is a primeval jungle with lush plants, but it is a bit far away and you can't see clearly what kind of plants there are. Outside the jungle is an endless desert, which seems to be blocked outside by the jungle. In the desert, you can see some shadows moving, and judging from the outlines, they look like some animals.

After leaving the desert, there is another plain. There are some buildings in the center of the plain, but the style of these buildings is very rare, at least Lu An has never seen them before.

Relaying what he saw and heard to Han Zu, Lu An looked at the scenery while staring at the plane's automatic cruise system.

"Once we reach the predetermined altitude and the plane finds the right position, we will begin to land."

A few minutes later, the aircraft's automatic cruise system found the right position and began to slow down in preparation for landing.

The landing gear opened, and as the wheels touched the ground, the plane landed on the ground and began to taxi. Soon, the plane stopped and landed smoothly.

"There's still 4000% of fuel left. Roughly speaking, it should be able to fly another kilometers."

"So far? I thought this small plane could only fly more than 3000 kilometers with a full tank of gas."

"Energy revolution, didn't you learn about it when you were in college? Ten years ago, our country found a new type of fuel that can replace fossil energy. Compared with fossil energy fuel, it is smaller in size and produces more energy when burned. Don't you remember?"

"...I study literature, I study literature..."

“This is not the basis...”

"After I started working part-time in college, I basically..."

Han Zu took out his mobile phone and showed Lu An a GIF. Lu An understood, nodded, gave a thumbs up, and stopped talking about this topic.

"Let's go, let's go down and see if we can find a way back there."

Han Zu nodded. He couldn't turn around, so he climbed out of the cabin backwards, turned around in the cargo hold, and got off the plane.

Standing on the ground, Han Zu straightened his body, bent backward, and stretched his muscles and bones, making a sound of bones rubbing against each other. He didn't know if it was an illusion, but Han Zu found that he seemed to see farther than before.

"You still can't speak?"

Han Zu opened his mouth and tried it. This time he was able to make some sounds, but they were limited to simple pronunciations like "hmm" and "oh".

"Yeah." Han Zu said and continued typing on his phone.

"Ok?"

The phone turned off without any warning.

"what happened?"

Han Zu shook the phone in his hand, shook his head, and pointed at Lu An. Lu An understood and took out his own phone, which was also turned off.

"Is the power out? That shouldn't be the case?"

I tried restarting the phone, but it didn’t work, so I had to put it back in my pocket.

"Let's see if there's anyone nearby. This place feels...not right."

"Ah."

Looking around, Han Zu discovered the outline of a building in the distance. He pointed in that direction and headed in that direction with Lu An.

The place where the plane landed seemed to be a huge square. The ground was made of smooth tiles polished from some kind of stone. There were almost no gaps between the tiles and they were very flat. But apart from these tiles, there was nothing in the square.

Leaving the square, there are some branching roads. The largest one is paved with bluestone bricks and is very smooth, but there are many traces of wheel ruts on it, which seem to have been caused by some animal-powered vehicles.

The other roads are dirt roads. Compared with this road, they are bumpy, very uneven, and have all kinds of traces on them.

The outline of the building in the distance seemed to extend forward along the bluestone brick road, so Han Zu and Lu An began to walk forward along this road.

About ten minutes later, the two came to the front of the building. It was a pyramid more than twenty meters high. The pyramid had no spire, but instead a platform that looked like it was used for sacrifices.

The pyramid is made up of countless black boulders of the same size, but this should not be the color of the stone itself, because Lu An found some worn corners, revealing the original amber color of the stone inside.

Climbing to the top of the pyramid, on the sacrificial platform, Lu An discovered that there was a sacrificial table carved out of two huge stones. On it were engraved some words that looked like a twisted centipede, and next to it was a strange creature that looked very much like a hybrid of a centipede and a giant worm from a science fiction movie.

At the top of the pyramid, Han Zu looked around and found a place that looked like a village. He and Lu An left the pyramid and walked towards there.

The distance was not far, and they soon arrived here. There lived some people here. Their language was very strange, and it was not the language of any nation on earth. If one had to describe it, it was as mixed as reading Arabic backwards, using the language order of African indigenous tribes, and then speaking it with the tones of German.

These people looked no different from humans, but they looked like Eurasian hybrids, and their heights were generally between 1 and 5 meters. They were very uneasy about Han Zu's appearance, and seemed to be a little hostile. They quickly surrounded Han Zu, Lu An, and the two Death Realm Hounds, and took out their weapons.

These people were very strange. Their clothing and architectural style resembled those of ancient Egypt, but the weapons in their hands were very modern. Although the shapes were very unique, from the sounds of loading and pulling the bolts, as well as the way those people held the weapons, Han Zu and Lu An could analyze that those weapons should be some kind of guns.

One of the young men in the front seemed to be very nervous because of fear. The hand holding the weapon accidentally made a golden finger, and the muscle twitching due to tension caused the gun in his hand to accidentally go off.

"Ta-ta-ta-ta!"

The two Death Hounds moved quickly. They saw Han Zu trying to reach out his hand to block Lu An, but he was not fast enough and didn't make it in time. The hounds replaced Han Zu and stood in front of Lu An.

However, the accidentally discharged gun was not pointed in the direction of Lu An, but at Han Zu's chest. The bullets penetrated Han Zu's clothes, but after contacting his skin, it was like a small-caliber bullet hitting a thick tank armor. Apart from some sparks produced by friction, there was no effect.

The young man who accidentally fired the gun became even more nervous after seeing that the bullet had no effect. His hand holding the gun shook constantly and cold sweat appeared on his forehead.

"Don't!"

Lu An reached out and hugged Han Zu's arm, fearing that he would start a killing spree. Lu An didn't think that there would be any survivors among the dozens of people around him if he got angry. These were the only intelligent group of people they had seen so far, and also the only clue.

However, Han Zu didn't seem to have any emotional changes. He waved at Lu An, indicating that he would not do anything rash.

Han Zu stood there, took off his clothes that were riddled with bullet holes, folded them, and threw them on the ground. He half-knelt down, pointed a finger at the weapon in the hands of the young man who had just fired, then pointed at his face, and then made a gesture of firing.

The people around him seemed to understand what he meant. They looked at each other uneasily and said something to each other, as if they were communicating the current situation in their own language.

A minute or two later, a middle-aged man walked out of the crowd. Judging from his clothes, he seemed to be the leader of these people. He walked in front of Han Zu. Although the weapon in his hand was still pointed at Han Zu, he looked much calmer.

Han Zu still pointed at the weapon in his hand and pointed at his face.

"Da da da da da!"

The weapon fired suddenly, and several bullets hit Han Zu's face, creating some sparks. After finding that the weapon had no effect, the middle-aged man put it down, pulled out a dagger hanging from his waist, and prepared for battle.

However, Han Zu did not seem angry at all. He began to gesture and try to communicate with these people.

Han Zu pointed at their weapons, shook his head, and wanted to take out his own weapon, but for some reason he failed, so he changed his method.

Han Zu pointed to a sturdy tree next to him. The diameter of the trunk was about five or six meters. Han Zu pointed to the dagger in the middle-aged man's hand, made a wood-cutting gesture to the tree trunk next to him, and then looked at the middle-aged man in front of him quietly.

The middle-aged man seemed to understand what Han Zu meant. He asked how long it would take to chop down the tree with the dagger in his hand. Chopping down a tree with a dagger was not realistic at all, so the middle-aged man shook his head.

Han Zu stretched out his right hand, spread out his five fingers, and showed it to the middle-aged man in front of him, as if to tell him that there was nothing in his hand. The middle-aged man understood what he meant and nodded.

Han Zu stood up, walked to the big tree, turned around to signal everyone, and punched the tree trunk.

"boom!"

The trunk of the tree was broken in half. Han Zu grabbed the trunk, laid it flat on the ground, and walked back.

Those people were terrified. Not only could they not hurt the man in front of them, but he also possessed terrifying power. If he were to go berserk, the villagers would not be able to survive. The crowd was talking nervously.

The middle-aged man shouted, and the crowd gradually quieted down. He faced Han Zu in front of him and put away his weapon, but still looked at the giant in front of him with neither arrogance nor servility.

Han Zu pointed to his fist, shook his head, stretched out his big hand and shook hands with Lu An, then nodded, half-knelt down, and stretched out his palm to the middle-aged man.

The middle-aged man looked at Han Zu cautiously, and slowly, tentatively stretched out his hand, and Han Zu shook hands with him in a friendly manner. After confirming that Han Zu in front of him had no hostility, the middle-aged man waved to the crowd behind him, asking them to put down their weapons.

"Roar!"

Suddenly, the sound of wild beasts was heard. The crowd nervously raised their weapons again and headed towards the direction of the sound. More than a dozen wild beasts jumped out from the woods near the village.

Those beasts looked like giant chimpanzees with brown bear heads and tiger tails. They had four hands and stood on the branches of tall trees, staring at the crowd with greedy eyes.

Han Zu pointed at the wild animals and the villagers, and made a gesture of eating. The middle-aged man understood that he was asking whether the wild animals would prey on people. The middle-aged man nodded, took out his gun, and pointed it at the wild animals. However, Han Zu put his hand on his gun and lowered the muzzle. The middle-aged man looked at Han Zu in confusion.

"~!"

A sharp whistle came out from Han Zu's mouth, and two Death Hounds quickly rushed into the middle of the beasts. Compared with those beasts, the two Death Hounds were one or two sizes larger than them. They opened their bloody mouths and bit off most of the beasts' heads in one bite.

Those wild beasts could never have imagined that these things that looked like spotted hyenas were actually such brutal and ferocious beasts. They were caught off guard. Within a few minutes, those wild beasts became food for the hunting dogs, leaving behind a pile of debris.

"~!"

Hearing the whistle, the hounds quickly returned to Han Zu, swallowed the food in their mouths, and squatted quietly on both sides of Han Zu. Han Zu reached out and stroked their heads.

The crowd was silent. They had not expected that these two hounds were such terrifying and ferocious creatures. Seeing their docile expressions before, they thought they were just Han Zu's pet dogs, but a little bigger.

Han Zu pointed to his stomach and made a gesture of eating, then pointed to several relatively intact beast corpses and the middle-aged man.

The middle-aged man nodded and called a few people to bring back the prey.

After making sure that Han Zu and Lu An in front of him had no ill intentions, the middle-aged man made an inviting gesture and took Han Zu and Lu An into the village.
