Chapter 152: After one wave, another wave arises

Bilbo was lucky. He fell into the abyss while fighting an orc, which started his unique journey. After all, Bilbo was a man who held the ring for decades without being tempted.

Thorin and his companions were also lucky. After being humiliated by the Orc leader, Gandalf arrived in time. After a fierce battle, they quickly fled.

When the goblins realized what was happening, they put out their torches, put on their soft shoes, and picked out the fastest warriors among their companions and the sharpest eyes and ears. These goblins ran forward, as fast as moles in the dark, and made no more noise than bats.

So when they turned around and saw the countless orcs, they decided to run away desperately. There were too many of them, which was worse than poking a hornet's nest. Fortunately, they ran out, and when they saw the shining sun in the sky, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

But they soon discovered that Bilbo was missing. They didn't expect that Bilbo was lurking in the bushes not far from them. Gandalf was arguing with the dwarves. They were discussing what happened in the tunnel and wanted to decide what to do next. The dwarves were complaining, and Gandalf insisted that if Mr. Baggins was still in the hands of the goblins, they should not go any further, at least they must determine whether he was alive or dead, or even rescue him.

When Bilbo appeared, everyone was stunned. Bilbo just showed off his superb skills as a snitch and said nothing about the ring he got.

But their joy was soon lost, for they heard a howl in the distance, a sharp, piercing howl, and a closer response to the right, and a response not far to the left. It was the Wargs, calling their friends!

They were exposed, and everyone started to flee in a hurry. After all, they were exhausted.

In the end, they had no way to escape, so they had to climb up the trees. As countless wolves patrolled back and forth under the trees, they were terrified.

Following an even more violent wolf howl, Azog slowly appeared riding on his huge warg. He looked at Gandalf and the others in the tree and smiled grimly.

Countless wolves roared and pounced on the tree figures, their eyes glowing and their tongues hanging out hungrily.

The only thing to be thankful for is that these wargs cannot climb trees, otherwise they would be in big trouble.

Gandalf gathered a large pile of pine cones from the tree where he was standing, set them on fire with blue flames, and threw the burning balls of fire at the place where the wolves were gathered. The first shot hit a wolf, and it was hit in the back, and its fluffy hair immediately caught fire. It began to run around in pain, howling constantly.

The other dwarves followed suit and helped Gandalf throw balls of fire one after another, some with blue flames, some with red flames, and some with green flames. They exploded on the ground, emitting sparks and smoke of various colors.

Soon, the grove caught fire. The other wolves on fire howled and ran around, causing more of their compatriots to be engulfed in the flames. In the end, they were all driven away by their companions and ran down the hillside howling in search of water.

Azog looked at the scene in front of him with his teeth broken. The only thing that made him happy was that the tree that Gandalf and the others were standing on was about to fall, and there was a cliff below. They were struggling on the tree.

Thorin and his men had no way to retreat. Under the gaze of everyone, Thorin walked towards Azog with his weapon in hand.

Azog smiled disdainfully and commanded the wolf leader under his mount to rush towards Thorin.

It was so tragic. Everyone saw that Thorin was knocked to the ground by Azog before he could last three rounds, and then was thrown onto a rock by the wolf under him.

Azog looked at Thorin lying on the rock with lack of interest and signaled his men to execute Thorin.

There was no one else, so Bilbo gritted his teeth, swung the weapon in his hand, knocked the orc who was walking towards Thorin to the ground, and then killed him.

Azog did not expect that there would be a change at this juncture. Looking at Bilbo who was guarding Thorin, he signaled his men to launch an attack.

Bilbo swung his sword countless times, but to no avail. He was knocked to the ground, and just as he and Thorin were about to die, the situation changed.

Gandalf breathed a sigh of relief, because he knew his old friend was coming, and it seemed that he would not die young. Although he was not young, he was always young to the Maia.

The Eagle King swooped down from the sky, grabbed Gandalf in his claws, and disappeared into the clouds. The orcs howled in anger and disappointment.

The Eagle King cried out loudly, and Gandalf was lying on his back and talking to him. At the Eagle King's command, the giant eagles that were traveling with him swooped down again and rushed into the forest like huge black shadows.

The wolves growled and gnashed their teeth, and the goblins stamped their feet in anger and threw their spears into the air in vain. Eagles flew among them, pinning them to the ground with the strong wind pressure, or stumbling back, tearing at the goblin's face with their claws; other eagles flew close to the treetops and rescued the dwarves who ventured to climb to the highest place.

Thank God, Bilbo was caught by the feet of a giant eagle, and watched Gandalf faint from exhaustion on the eagle's back.

Azog looked unwillingly at the giant eagle in the distance and roared angrily.

.......

They were saved, and Bilbo woke up on the eagle's back. Soon the giant eagles began to make an emergency landing at a high speed. For Bilbo, this was simply a life-threatening situation.

Finally, they were safely placed on a mountain top by the giant eagles, and Thorin slowly opened his eyes. Bilbo's previous actions made Thorin recognize Bilbo again and accept Bilbo.

This was something worth celebrating. With the help of the Eagle King, they lit a bonfire on the top of the mountain. The dwarves gathered around to roast the food, and the aroma of the food filled the air. The giant eagles brought dry branches, rabbits, and a lamb. The dwarves were responsible for cooking the food. Bilbo, who was too weak to help, was used to the life where the butcher prepared everything and he only had to cook. He didn't know how to do skinning or other work. But everyone had no opinion on Bilbo.

The adventure in the Misty Mountains ended like this. Soon, Bilbo's stomach felt full again. Although he preferred bread and butter, the roasted meat on the skewer was not bad. Therefore, he felt sleepy and curled up into a ball. Although this journey was thrilling, it was really interesting.

Perhaps because of his mood, Bilbo fell asleep on the hard rock, and this time he felt as comfortable as sleeping on his feather bed at home.
