"Professor Chen?"

“Has the research and development work yielded any results?”

Jiang Hao's voice was full of anticipation at this moment.

Kirin Battery was born as a result of the Songjiang Municipal Government's strategic investment in industrial upgrading and transformation during the stock market crash.

Since last year, he and Secretary You have promoted the alliance of Jiangnan University, Songjiang University of Technology and Songjiang Normal University.

After we built a lithium battery R&D laboratory together, I haven’t paid any attention to it since.

Although I think about this matter from time to time, I am still thinking about it.

But I didn't feel comfortable going to the laboratory to ask about the progress.

I don’t want to put too much pressure on the scientific research team!

Speaking of which, apart from the time during the Chinese New Year, this was the first time that the main person in charge, Professor Chen, took the initiative to contact him by phone.

"Well, power lithium batteries that are compatible with new energy have been realized in the laboratory."

"If you are free recently, you can come and have a look."

"I'll come over right away if I'm free. Are you in school now?"

Faced with this news, Jiang Hao couldn't bear it for more than a few days!

He never expected that it would be achieved in the laboratory in just over a year.

He immediately said goodbye to Brother Li in a hurry.

"Go ahead, business is more important."

Brother Li was very considerate of Jiang Hao and did not continue to talk to him about student training.

While asking Chen Hua to rush to Oujiang District, he called Secretary You to report the information.

The Buick sped along the city's elevated road for more than half an hour before finally entering the campus of Jiangnan University.

When he arrived at the place, Secretary You had arrived at the laboratory earlier than him, and there were a bunch of people standing inside.

"Secretary You, Academician Zhang, President Hou, you are all here!"

Looking around, they were all acquaintances. Jiang Hao didn't expect that in just over half an hour.

Both Academician Zhang and Vice President Hou of Jiangnan University were alarmed, and both academicians rushed directly to the laboratory.

"Haha! We've all just arrived, so we're waiting for you to check on the battery status together."

Secretary You's face was full of enthusiasm. He took his arm and led him inside.

So far in the entire project, the new Oujiang District lithium battery laboratory has just been completed.

But it has not yet been put into use, and the current work results were all produced in Professor Chen Jiming’s original laboratory on campus.

Of course, this laboratory should be supported by Jiangnan University. The place is very large, as if several laboratories on this floor were connected for Professor Chen to use.

It seems that Jiangnan University attaches great importance to the project set up by Professor Chen or Jiang Hao at that time!

At this moment, Academician Zhang came close to Jiang Hao and lowered his voice.

"Xiao Jiang, next time if you come here yourself or ask Secretary You to come, please let me or Principal Hou know in advance."

"Don't do it as a surprise attack. If Professor Chen hadn't told me, the school wouldn't have known you were coming."

I guess these words were mostly directed at Secretary You.

Although Jiang Hao felt that asking Secretary You to come and see the results of that year's investment was no big deal.

But Secretary You is no ordinary person in the school. The administrative level of the president of Jiangnan University is not low, and the vice-president is at least at the level of a full department head.

However, Jiangnan University itself is jointly established by Jiangnan Province and the Ministry of Education, and is actually mainly supported by the provincial party committee and government.

Secretary You is one of the members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and is considered a direct leader in the school.

No wonder Academician Zhang reminded him. Although Academician Zhang himself didn't care, Vice President Hou was in administrative work and couldn't avoid this.

The lithium battery laboratory does have much more equipment than the telecommunications laboratory where Jiang Hao previously worked.

Of course, it may also be that this battery project is more important.

Professor Chen Jiming has already moved the batteries out of the laboratory.

Everyone's eyes were focused on the experimental table, where solid batteries had been packaged and their positive and negative electrodes had been connected to electricity.

In fact, people can't understand the whole thing just by looking at it, so they mainly rely on Professor Chen's introduction.

"This battery mainly uses nickel, cobalt and manganese as the positive electrode...it is actually called a ternary lithium battery on the market."

There are currently two mainstream batteries on the market, lithium iron phosphate batteries and ternary batteries.

The hybrid models currently launched by BYD in China are equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries.

As for Tesla's battery, it uses a ternary lithium battery, but it is not the square battery currently displayed in Professor Chen's laboratory.

Instead, cylindrical batteries are used for direct arrangement.

"Compared with ordinary lithium iron phosphate batteries, this battery in the laboratory has higher energy density, smaller size, and more stable charging and discharging performance..."

Professor Chen is constantly introducing the advantages of this square battery.

Jiang Hao didn’t understand anything else, but when it came to ternary lithium batteries, he already had an idea in his mind.

"Professor Chen, is this battery affected by high temperatures? What is the highest safe temperature?"

Seeing Jiang Hao directly pointing out the shortcomings of the battery, Professor Chen Jiming glanced at him with a strange look.

I thought I was just giving a scientific talk about batteries to a few leaders, but I didn't expect that Jiang Hao seemed to know quite a lot about it.

"That's right! Batteries are affected by high temperatures."

"Whether it is lithium iron phosphate battery or ternary lithium, it is the same. Of course, lithium iron phosphate battery will perform better in high temperature resistance."

"Will it be prone to spontaneous combustion? Have you actually tested the effects of high temperatures?"

Jiang Hao had heard a lot about the spontaneous combustion of trams in his later years. It was also one of the drawbacks of trams.

Especially the ternary lithium battery, which has good battery performance and can improve the battery life of electric vehicles.

But this category of batteries is also the most prone to accidents and spontaneous combustion.

Facing the questions that Jiang Hao kept throwing at him, Chen Jiming's face became serious and his words became rigorous.

"I have tested it. The temperature of this ternary lithium battery in the laboratory can be controlled below 145°."

"There is a risk of spontaneous combustion if the temperature exceeds this, but it does not mean that spontaneous combustion will occur once the temperature exceeds this."

The scene has now become a private chat between Professor Chen and Jiang Hao.

Neither Secretary You, the other two academicians, nor the people who followed behind joined the conversation.

I just listened quietly to their communication and looked forward to Jiang Hao's opinion on this battery.

"In fact, temperature control of ternary lithium batteries is a common problem, and there is no good solution for the time being."

"But its performance is much better than that of lithium iron phosphate. As long as the cooling measures are well guaranteed, it is almost impossible to expect a temperature of 145°C."

While speaking, Professor Chen also began to talk about the situations of other colleagues.

"At present, CATL, which makes ternary lithium batteries in China, is relatively good. I have also visited it."

"Their current batteries can only keep the temperature below 135 degrees, and in terms of performance, they are not as good as the battery I am currently developing."
