HP Shavings Wizard
Chapter 35 Chat
Alison was sitting next to Bathilda, trying to fight the strange "jumping cherries" with a spoon. Upon hearing this, she looked at her great aunt obediently and attentively, not wanting to let down the kindness of this friendly elder.
But she was really not interested in the history of magic, and her eyes secretly glanced at the cherries jumping on the ice cream.
Even though she was old and forgetful, Bathilda was still a lively, talkative, gentle and considerate old woman. She was keenly aware of Albus's complex emotions, and without asking any more questions, she just smiled and looked at Alison with fondness and curiosity.
"Suggestions? History of Magic is a very interesting subject that covers the history, culture and traditions of the wizarding world."
"Alison, which part are you most interested in?"
Alison said a popular hobby obediently: "...um, gossip? Or legends, secrets? I have heard of the Slytherin Chamber of Secrets in Hogwarts. The rumor of its existence is still in the school history, but many historians have returned empty-handed and it has never been confirmed."
This topic really hit the spot for the historian. Bathilda's eyes lit up and she said excitedly, "Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets! This is an interesting topic."
She glanced at Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts, and spoke mysteriously in a low voice.
"Legend has it that before Salazar Slytherin left Hogwarts, he built a secret chamber that only his true heir could open and release the monster inside to purify all students of impure blood in the school."
"This legend has existed for hundreds of years, but no one has ever actually found the Chamber of Secrets. This is the charm of the history of magic - full of mysteries and unsolved mysteries."
"If you are interested in this kind of secret, I can recommend you some related books."
Dumbledore listened to Bathilda and Alison's discussion and sighed softly, "Yes, Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets is indeed an unsolved mystery in the history of Hogwarts. All the headmasters have tried to find it but failed. But I am more concerned about your opinion on this period of history, Alison..."
Alison took a bite of ice cream and unceremoniously scooped a spoonful of Grindelwald's ice cream. Holding the script in her hand, she casually said, "Speaking of Slytherin blood, the most famous thing is Parseltongue, right? Is it possible that they use this special ability representing the family as a condition for opening the Chamber of Secrets?"
Bathilda's eyes lit up.
"Good guess! It's a pity that Slytherin himself did not leave any clear information about the Chamber of Secrets. We can only infer its existence through fragmentary clues."
Alison seemed to be joking, with a half-smile on her face.
"Maybe there's a pet basilisk in there that can be controlled by Parseltongue, and has lived from a thousand years ago to the present day, and will faithfully carry out the task of clearing out the Muggleborn wizards just like the legend says?"
Dumbledore frowned, his expression turning serious.
He thought of Myrtle who had died that year, and Tom, who had always suspected that Hagrid's eight-eyed giant spider had killed someone and won a contribution award...
Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets and Descendants...
He took a deep look at the little red-haired wizard who seemed to have said it casually, and then said softly: "I hope this will not happen. The Chamber of Secrets should not become a tool for some people to realize their dark ambitions."
Alison poked Grindelwald's hand. "Do the students from Durmstrang feel left out?"
Grindelwald chuckled and shook his head, his eyes shifting between Dumbledore and Alison, full of meaning.
"No, Alison, I'm just thinking. Magic schools all have some legends like this, and Durmstrang also has its own unique features. The most important thing is to understand and use them..."
"Since you mentioned the Chamber of Secrets, are you also interested in legends?"
The legend of Durmstrang? This old man was clearly madly pursuing the three Deathly Hallows during his school years, and after dropping out of school, he even went to England to pursue them...
Alison held up her face, her expression flamboyant and arrogant, and she didn't respond: "It's okay, but compared to chasing those legends, I would rather create my own history and legends."
When Grindelwald heard this, a hint of appreciation flashed in his eyes. He glanced at Dumbledore meaningfully: "'Creating history and legends'? That's a good idea."
Dumbledore looked at them calmly from under his thick silver eyebrows, and responded with a hint of meaning: "Making history is indeed a great thing, but the premise is that your actions are right."
Bathilda felt that the atmosphere was a bit tense and tried to ease it: "Little Ellie, since Albus mentioned it before, what subject are you interested in studying?"
This is not a case of forcing things to happen.
Some third-year students with good talents were allowed by professors to join the club of the subject and study and research magic in depth with their classmates and professors. Judging from the talent Alison usually showed, she was no worse than those older children, not to mention that she had the guidance and help of her parents.
Alison chuckled and clung to her elders, childishly complaining and acting like a spoiled brat: "Sister Bathilda, all the research directions Alison had in mind were rejected by Albus."
Facing Bathilda's somewhat surprised and confused expression, Dumbledore sighed and explained, his face showing worry and concern.
"Alison is very interested in magic, but the direction of her research is a bit... dangerous. She should use her talent for something more positive."
Alison lazily ate ice cream beside Bathilda, not taking this discussion seriously. She considered herself still a little wizard, eating, drinking and having fun were the most important things, and studying and research were secondary.
Grindelwald rubbed Alison's head, then looked at Dumbledore and retorted: "You shouldn't limit the imagination of young people too much. It is often those ideas that are considered 'dangerous' that drive the progress of magic."
Dumbledore frowned. He had different views on education and refused to give in. "Gellert, you must be careful! Alison is still too young and needs proper guidance. Otherwise, what if she really encounters danger?"
Bathilda looked around, trying to ease their argument. "Kids, maybe there's no need to argue? Little Ellie, have you ever considered some less...dangerous interests?"
Grindelwald raised his eyebrows: "Or, we can let Ellie decide for herself. She is a smart little witch."
Alison only looked at Bathilda, ignoring her own parents, slyly deciding to let them argue for a while longer.
She was happy that the old lovers could still argue. What she feared most was that both of them would become hopeless, speak in a distant and polite manner, and be completely relieved of their relationship and completely lose hope.
