HP Shavings Wizard
Chapter 21 Dumbledore
Starting with the topic of desserts, Alison naturally asked about the people to whom Bathilda often sent cakes in the past, talked about their reactions, and inquired about the tastes of the Dumbledore family next door.
Grindelwald listened to the two people chatting animatedly and Alison's subtle questions, while he lowered his head and quietly cut the steak.
Bathilda didn't mind sharing her little friend, another blood relative of Alison's, with Alison. She told her everything she knew about Alison's preference for desserts and even recommended a few of her own specialties to Alison.
Alison suddenly mentioned something: "The only ingredients left at home are flour and eggs. We must go buy them before noon tomorrow..."
Her expression paused slightly.
Through the bangs covering his eyes, the clear fragments on the glass window were displayed in his transparent right eye. The three of them sat around the table, on which were Hogwarts envelopes, owls, Gellert writing a letter, and Dumbledore knocked on the door.
Grindelwald also apparently paused after seeing that clip, and the two looked at each other.
Alison covered her lips and chuckled: "…Then let's go shopping together tomorrow morning."
Grindelwald nodded slightly.
The old lady Bathilda smiled and didn't notice anything else: "Okay, let's go shopping together tomorrow morning."
After dinner, Alison let the dirty dishes float to the kitchen, and the small water prison spell automatically and quickly cleaned the dishes in the sink like a dishwasher. The magic control was fine enough, and the magic power was strong enough, so there was enough room for even the tedious housework.
Then she made some black tea, adding sugar and milk, a typical English black tea.
Outside the window came the sound of an owl flapping its wings, and the window was tapped by the bird's beak.
Grindelwald walked over and opened the window.
An owl flew in and flew straight to Alison, raised its feet on the table, and signaled Alison to take down the envelope with the Hogwarts red wax seal.
British wizards usually receive their admission letters on their birthdays. The exceptions are Alison, who arrived in the UK after her eleventh birthday and was detected by the admission book, or Harry Potter, whose birthday happened to be on the deadline for admission this year, so he had to send the letter in advance.
July 31st is the dividing line, and those born on August 1st will have to wait until next year to enter school. The date of the blood alliance, which is Alison's birthday, is August 11th, which is nearly a year older than Harry Potter, who also entered school this year.
However, they had strolled around Diagon Alley before that and arrived at Bathilda's house at around three in the afternoon. They received the letter from Hogwarts within a few hours. It can only be said that the efficiency of the Book of Admission and Owls is indeed higher than that of the British.
Alison took the envelope and opened it carefully. As expected, it contained an acceptance letter, a checklist of school supplies, and a ticket for the Hogwarts Express.
She glanced at them and handed them to Grindelwald and Bathilda.
Bathilda was very interested in talking about the difference between this letter and hers at that time, while Gellert took the initiative to help write a reply letter accepting admission. The little owl messenger was still waiting on the table.
There was a knock on the door.
It was Albus Dumbledore who had come to the same place as if by telepathy after seeing Mrs. Figg's letter about the suspicious German visitor.
Everything went as expected.
Alison focused on teasing the owl and used the door-opening spell to remotely control the door to open.
An old man with white hair and beard, wearing half-moon glasses and a wizard robe walked into the room, closed the door, and looked at the three people sitting around the table. He and Grindelwald looked at each other, neither of them spoke, and time seemed to freeze at this moment.
Grindelwald paused for a moment, then he raised his lips slightly and greeted his old friend: "Long time no see, Albus."
Dumbledore nodded slightly: "Long time no see, Gellert."
There was another moment of silence.
The atmosphere between the two was somewhat subtle, as if they had a thousand words to say but didn't know where to start.
Until Bathilda broke the silence, the old witch with poor memory was still friendly and enthusiastic, and asked her friend next to her to sit down.
Dumbledore sat down and took the cup of tea from Bathilda. He had not been here for a long time, the last time being several decades ago.
On the table in front of him was a Hogwarts acceptance letter, a list of school supplies, and a train ticket, which the Hogwarts headmaster was very familiar with. Gellert had previously written a reply to the acceptance letter, saying that he would arrive at school on time. The acceptance letter was obviously from the little girl, a school-age wizard in the UK.
Dumbledore picked up the notice and looked at the name on it:
Alison Green.
A Muggle surname, nothing special.
The premise is that it does not occur in this environment.
Dumbledore put down the notice and looked at the strange little red-haired girl.
The girl's right eye was covered by her bangs, leaving only her blue left eye exposed. Her messy long hair embellished her beautiful face, and her expression was lazy and wanton, with a familiar yet unfamiliar flamboyance.
Under this cover, he did not realize that the girl looked like him. People are always less familiar with their own faces. Moreover, his nose was broken by his brother Aberforth, making it crooked. The memories of his youth were almost faded like his red hair.
At this moment, he was only thinking about the girl's identity in his heart. Was this girl who suddenly appeared the heir of Gellert? Should he feel relieved or worried?
Alison paid no attention to the stranger who came in. She was still concentrating on teasing the owl that was waiting for a reply, as if her previous interest in front of her old father and great aunt was fake: "Ah~ I don't have any raw meat, suckling rats, which you can eat, what should I do?"
The owl cooed in dissatisfaction. When Alison tried to touch it without giving it food, it pecked Alison's fingers with its beak in annoyance and flapped its wings to avoid the little devil's touch.
Alison was not annoyed, still smiling, and a gold coin appeared in her palm when she flipped it, and she waved it in front of the white-faced horned owl: "But I have this."
The tradition of rewarding owls in the magic world is to give them two copper knuts so that they can buy some snacks. No one would give a gold galleon as a tip. The monthly salary of a magic school employee is only 70 gold galleons, and they often have to support a family.
1 Gold Galleon = 17 Silver Sickles. 1 Silver Sickle = 29 Bronze Knuts.
The owl seemed shocked by Alison's generosity. It stopped pecking at her hand and tilted its head to stare at the gold Galleons for a long time. Its ear feathers stood up and its eyes were straight, showing a clear stupidity.
Bathilda couldn't help laughing.
Dumbledore couldn't help but curl his lips.
Alison teased the white-faced horned owl and casually put the expensive gold coin into the small pocket on its paw.
Owl realized that he had met a generous sponsor, and he immediately approached her and rubbed her fingers affectionately, making soft cooing sounds that seemed to have been hoarse.
