HP Shavings Wizard

Chapter 18 Godric's Hollow

Godric's Hollow is a semi-wizarding settlement in southwestern England.

Since the International Statute of Secrecy came into effect, wizards have lived in Muggle villages. However, the celebrities in the small village can be traced back to Godric Gryffindor, the founder of Gryffindor House, thousands of years ago, which shows that the wizarding history here may be much longer.

Although wizards try their best to keep their activities from being noticed by Muggles and cast a lot of Confusion Charms, rumors of hauntings are still spreading in the small village.

The village has a small church, a post office, a bar, and several old supermarkets selling basic necessities, which are the infrastructure of British villages. There is a monument in the middle of the small square in the center. When wizards pass by, they will see it turned into a statue of the Potter family: a couple, with a beautiful mother with long hair holding a baby boy in her arms.

For Grindelwald, who returned to Godric's Hollow a century later, the place had changed a lot.

Things are people and not everything.

Alison thought he would not want to come to this place with beautiful memories. Two months of beautiful summer ended with a fight between three young people, which led to the death of Ariana in a riot. All the beautiful dreams came to an abrupt end. Grindelwald fled in despair, and the Dumbledore brothers held a funeral to clean up the mess, just like a masterpiece left with a huge crack that destroyed everything.

So Alison didn't list going to Godric's Hollow as an option at the beginning.

Grindelwald looked at the statue, then looked around, then turned his head to look at Alison and chuckled, "What? You think I won't come?"

Alison observed his expression carefully: "Pain is the body's reminder to itself, warning itself to stay away from danger... If it were me, I would never come to such a place again."

Heartache is also a kind of pain, and people will always subconsciously avoid bad memories. In her opinion, this relationship couldn't be more tragic. The two of them would spend the rest of their lives drinking the bitter wine brewed in the two months of midsummer when they were young.

"Your idea is good, Alison." Grindelwald bent down and kissed his daughter's forehead. "But I have never regretted meeting Albus."

Alison stopped talking. She didn't understand the adults' choice emotionally. The one that the Blood Alliance could resonate with and leave a deep emotional impact on was the young Grindelwald who ran away in despair. He was more selfish and loved himself more. Seeing Albus' pale face, he was more inclined to escape.

Grindelwald didn't care that she didn't continue talking.

He knew that Alison couldn't understand this yet and that she needed to grow up slowly.

He held his daughter's hand and walked slowly forward, heading towards Bathilda's home as he remembered it.

Passing through the wilted flowers and weeds in the garden, Grindelwald brought Alison to Bathilda's residence, a two-story building.

Alison looked around curiously, taking in the house and Dumbledore's house next door.

Grindelwald knocked on the door.

There were slow footsteps from inside the door, and after a long while, Bathilda came to open the door.

Bathilda is over 150 years old. This intelligent historian who once remembered every detail of history has lost her memory. She can't remember many things. But fortunately, even though she is short and hunched, she still remembers her grandnephew, the dazzling Gellert Grindelwald.

After opening the door, Bathilda stared at the visitor with cloudy eyes for a moment. She was very surprised to see the old man with a transparent right eye: "Gail?!"

Grindelwald leaned forward slightly, moved closer to Bathilda, and kissed her cheek. "Long time no see, Bathilda."

Alison held Gellert's arm. The little girl looked curiously at the old witch with sparse gray hair, cloudy eyes, and some prominent blue veins on her face.

Grindelwald turned his head to look at Alison and introduced her to Bathilda: "This is my daughter, Alison."

Alison immediately smiled adorably, her voice soft and sweet, with a sense of self-righteousness that she knew she would be indulged by her elders: "I don't know how to call Bathilda, so I'll just call her sister!"

Bathilda, who was looking at Alison, reacted and smiled.

Grindelwald took Alison's hand and said to Bathilda, "Let's go inside and talk."

He led Alison into the house, and Bathilda, who was old and slow, followed slowly.

The owner tried hard to keep the house clean, but it was obvious that due to the large amount of historical materials, old clothes and the like, Bathilda was too old and had a poor memory to really clean it up, and some corners were covered in dust and mold.

This familiar yet unfamiliar house, like its owner, seems to be aging and decaying uncontrollably.

Grindelwald glanced around, and finally his eyes fell on Bathilda: "…Are you okay?"

Bathilda was stunned for a moment, then she laughed: "…It's okay, it's just that my memory is not very good."

Grindelwald walked over and gently hugged Bathilda. Bathilda leaned in his arms for a long time before she slowly spoke: "...I thought you would never come back."

Grindelwald said nothing, but gently stroked Bathilda's hair.

After not seeing each other for a century, the once intelligent and sharp middle-aged witch now had thinning hair and cloudy eyes, and had completely changed into a different person.

Time is such a cruel thing, it takes away everything from people silently.

After a long silence, Grindelwald finally let go of Bathilda. He apologized to the only blood relative still alive who had always cared about him: "…I'm sorry, Bathilda."

Bathilda smiled and shook her head: "It's okay, I know, you're just... too obsessed with something."

Grindelwald and Bathilda looked at each other with complicated eyes.

Alison had been sitting obediently on the old sofa, not showing any squeamishness, but now she moved over secretly, hugged Bathilda enthusiastically and said coquettishly: "Sister Bathilda, your nephew has brought back Alison with a buy-one-get-one-free deal!"

Bathilda, who had come out of her mixed emotions, was amused and rubbed Alison's head.

Alison rubbed against him like an enthusiastic puppy, but the blue left eye and reddish-brown hair looked familiar to Bathilda.

This kid doesn't look like Gail, but more like the kid next door...

Bathilda paused: "…You look like Albus."

Alison blinked, a cunning and vicious look flashed in her eyes, and she immediately began to organize her words, with a look on her face as if she was about to cry.

"I was in Nurmengard Prison when I first opened my eyes in this world."

"I am the daughter of Father Albus and Father Gellert, but Father Albus doesn't even know I exist. This is too much. This is too much bullying for Father."

"Dad had a hard time raising me alone. I couldn't help but want to be reunited with his family, so I escaped from prison."

……

Alison messed up the truth, and directly brought up a story about Dumbledore forcing love on the 100-year-old man Grindelwald in prison, and there was also a plot that seemed to be Dumbledore abandoning his husband and children, which was a very colorful story.

!!!

Grindelwald's face turned green, and he almost choked on his own saliva. He didn't...

Bathilda looked at Grindelwald with shock on her face.
