HP Shavings Wizard

Chapter 104 Regulus

Christmas is coming.

Overnight, everyone woke up from their dreams and found that the wind and snow had become even worse. The ground was covered with several feet of snow, and the lake was covered with hard ice.

Alison went to the headmaster's office early in the morning and saw through the window the Weasley twins, the naughty boys with the same red hair, casting a snowball spell on a few snowballs, causing them to chase Professor Quirrell around and finally hit his turban - the side with Voldemort's face underneath.

It is said that this slap in the face was the reason why only one of the two was left in the original work.

In such windy and snowy weather, the owls delivering mail have a lot of work to do, but it cannot extinguish the enthusiasm of the little animals in the boarding school who are looking forward to going home for the holidays.

Everyone was looking forward to the holiday impatiently, and there was a lot of chatter during breakfast time.

Harry was not on the list for detention for the holiday, and he did not need to return to the Dursleys' house, which did not welcome him.

He had corresponded with his godfather many times, and he had troubled Hedwig to deliver letters to the friendly godfather who was still recovering at the Black family home almost every morning.

Even though they had never met, Harry had no doubt that Sirius loved him - Sirius was detained at home by his mother Walburga to recuperate, and he complained about this in his letters. He even wanted to sneak into Hogwarts to meet his godson Harry in advance, but Harry wisely discouraged this behavior.

Hagrid was busy moving a huge fir tree to decorate the castle. Teachers and students who stayed at school for various reasons at Christmas would also hold a dinner together to liven up the atmosphere.

Professors McGonagall and Flitwick were also in the Great Hall, busy putting up Christmas decorations and hanging little icicles and candles on the trees.

Alison followed her first-year schedule and blocked Harry's way when Gryffindor and Slytherin were in the same hall, and dragged her little subordinate to an empty classroom.

When Harry saw her, he showed a surprised expression, then took the deflated wide-mouthed pocket handed to him by Alison with a confused look on his face.

He looked inside, his eyes widened and his breathing stopped.

The pocket was illegally expanded using the traceless stretching spell, and the inside was actually quite large, so it looked deflated on the outside - of course, this was not the point, the point was...

Inside was a young man who was slightly swollen but still had a handsome face and was wearing an exquisite robe. The face looked a bit like the photo of Sirius he had seen.

Harry swallowed.

Apart from his parents, of whom he had almost no memory of his infancy, the eleven-year-old black-haired, green-eyed little wizard was the first to actually come into contact with the corpses of his own kind, and his voice trembled a little.

Which little wizard of the same age carries a dead body around to give away?

"This is…"

Alison blinked, looking perfectly calm.

"Regulus Black, your godfather's brother... I promised his great-great-grandfather's magical portrait before, to return his body to the Black family so that he can rest in peace."

"You just happened to be going back to Blake's house, so you can just drop me off there."

Harry looked at the little red-haired wizard and stammered.

"But...but, my godfather..."

He thought back to the letters Sirius had sent him, and remembered that when Sirius introduced his family and complained about his mother, he did mention his weak and stupid brother Regulus, who had been missing for many years and whom Sirius guessed was killed after he pledged allegiance to Voldemort and tried to withdraw.

"…How…how did you find it?"

Alison pursed her lips and threatened him maliciously.

"In a lake full of Inferi - animated corpses under the influence of Dark Magic. They drag people down with them and turn them into their own kind."

Harry shuddered and looked through the opening of his pocket to see the body inside. He didn't expect that the death was so miserable and terrible.

Alison calmly handed over another locket with a note inside.

"He died trying to replace a Dark item hidden by Voldemort... You can tell Walburga that her little son is a hero."

[To the Dark Lord:

I know that by the time you read this, I will be dead. But I want you to know that it was I who discovered your secret. I have taken the real Horcrux and intend to destroy it as soon as possible.

I am willing to die in the hope that you will be killed when you meet your opponent.

R.A.B.]

Harry took the locket.

He quietly looked at the note that could be considered a suicide note, feeling mixed emotions, and finally clenched the locket tightly in his hand.

Even if they don't know what the Horcrux above specifically refers to, this mentality of bravely facing death still shocks outsiders.

Now he was no longer afraid of the corpse.

Alison was silent for a moment, waiting for him to process his emotions.

"Remember to show this replica locket to Kreacher, the Black family's house-elf. The Horcrux cannot be destroyed so easily, so it should still be in his possession."

Harry nodded solemnly in agreement.

Alison thought for a moment, then added to the arrangements.

"That thing can affect people's minds and intensify their negative emotions... Tell Walburga to bring that thing to Hogwarts in person. My father has the Resurrection Stone, so he can help her say goodbye to her little son."

Harry was a little worried.

"…Won't this be dangerous?"

Alison shook her head.

"The Black family advocates dark magic. Don't underestimate the acting family head's knowledge of and ability to resist dark magic."

"Comparatively, I don't feel comfortable with you and your godfather touching that thing."

Alison left after giving her instructions.

Harry put away his pockets and the Slytherin locket, calmed himself down briefly, and returned to the Gryffindor dormitory to pack his luggage.

On Christmas Eve, most students and professors who have homes go back to reunite with their families.

Hogwarts suddenly became much quieter. Most of the people who stayed were busy playing and enjoying the holiday without classes.

There were fewer people in the common room, and the warmest seats next to the fireplace were often empty.

Alison chose to stay in school, at least to spend Christmas dinner with her father so that she could get the result of the bet first.
