God's Gift

Chapter 442 In the dark

Su Yun raised his eyes and looked at Yu Youyou, his voice slow and gentle: "I have been waiting for you for a long time."

Hearing Su Yun say that he was waiting for her, Yu Youyou curved her eyes and shook her head happily, "So you were waiting for me."

She took two steps forward and sat down on the soft cashmere blanket in front of Su Yun, supporting herself with her hands behind her back, spreading her legs casually, and looking up at Su Yun.

"How did you guess it so quickly? That's amazing."

“As expected…” Yu Youyou paused, her eyes turned, and she continued, “As expected of Xiaoou’s mother.”

Su Yun smiled slightly, glanced sideways at the child sleeping on the sofa, then raised his eyes to glance at the seagull ornaments that could be seen randomly in the hall. There was a hint of helplessness in his eyes, and he sighed softly.

"No matter how many times I tell her to, she always sleeps on the couch."

Yu Youyou tilted her head, listening carefully to Su Yun's words, her toes swaying casually on the soft carpet.

"Children with Asperger's syndrome have some strange habits, just like the little gull."

"Maybe it's because her name contains 'gull', she pays a lot of attention to gulls and always likes to collect everything related to them."

Su Yun retracted his gaze and looked at Yu Youyou, "Gulls are a group of birds that live along the coast of the ocean."

"Perhaps it was destined that she would be entangled with the ocean."

Yu Youyou and Su Yun's eyes met, their gazes were clear and they did not say anything.

The light blue moonlight kissed the tips of her hair. The roses outside the window were blown by the wind, making a rustling sound. The pendulum on the wall was still ticking, and time slipped away quietly from the two people's sight.

After a long time, Yu Youyou smiled gently, lowered her head and shook her feet happily.

"So she is the gull, the gull that accompanies the ocean all her life."

Su Yun's eyes moved, and he asked, "Then will you help Xiaoou?"

Yu Youyou raised her eyes to look at Su Yun, her voice rising, a smile on her face, and answered without hesitation, "Of course."

After getting Yu Youyou's answer, Su Yun's body relaxed unconsciously. She exhaled slowly, her voice much more sincere:

"How are you going to get the disaster back?"

"I don't know." Yu Youyou had a bright smile on her face. Even though she didn't know how to solve the problem, there was still no sadness in her voice.

The expectation in Su Yun's eyes froze. She was silent for a few seconds before she repeated hesitantly:

"You do not know?"

"Yes." There was no embarrassment on Yu Youyou's face and she continued to sit there carefree.

Su Yun looked at Yu Youyou, but couldn't find any reliable signs in her.

She took a deep breath, held the handrail tighter, suppressed her fluctuating emotions, and continued to ask: "Then how can you help Xiaoou?"

“Don’t worry.” Yu Youyou waved her hand without any worry and said firmly, “I’ll find a way.”

Su Yun stared at Yu Youyou, and for a moment, she began to doubt whether her judgment was right or wrong. But she had no choice and finally nodded.

"By the way, I want to ask you something." Seeing that Su Yun had nothing to say, Yu Youyou opened her mouth and asked about her confusion:

"Why does Xiaoou call Weixi dad? Isn't Weixi a robot? In your world, robots can also give birth to life?"

Hearing this question, Su Yun's eyes became dazed for a moment. The knuckles that were tightly gripping the armrest moved slightly, and his numb fingers regained some sensation.

"He is not Xiaoou's father." Su Yun lowered his eyes, staring at his withered body and broken legs, his voice a little dull:

"Before his death, Xiaoou's biological father engraved all his memories into Weixi's chip. Weixi possessed all his memories and mistakenly believed that he was Xiaoou's father."

"When I found out, Xiaoou had already regarded Weixi as her father. I didn't want her to know that her father had passed away, so I acquiesced to Weixi's behavior."

Yu Youyou scratched her head in embarrassment. She hadn’t expected that Xiaoou’s biological father was already dead. “Is that so…”

Su Yun smiled faintly, his expression calm: "It doesn't matter, it's been a long time."

Yu Youyou pursed her lips and looked at Su Yun strangely. She didn't seem to care about this matter anymore. Yu Youyou thought about it and asked again:

"If Xiaoou is the only one who thinks Weixi is her biological father, then why does Weixi look like her biological father?"

Su Yun's smile froze. She paused and asked, "How do you know that Weixi and Xiaoou's father look the same?"

"I guessed." Yu Youyou said calmly, "You said Xiaoou looks like her father, and Xiaoou looks..."

She raised her eyes to look at Su Yun and continued, "It just happens to be very similar to Weixi."

"This was a mistake I made back then." Su Yun's expression remained calm, "But machines are just machines after all. They cannot replace humans."

Su Yun smiled gently and changed the subject lightly:

"I just forgot to tell you that there are two children in the tunnel who have lost contact for some reason."

"Their intelligence brains have been damaged, and they have no other electronic devices on them for the leaders to locate. We have tried everything, but still cannot retrieve their location information."

"The names of the two children are Shen Minghua and Ye Li."
