God's Gift

Chapter 339: Can't Leave Again

Until the front suddenly became bright as if the sky was breaking, Yu Youyou's chest heaved violently and she suddenly opened her eyes.

Having not seen the sun for a long time, the light became dazzling. Yu Youyou raised her hands to block her eyes, and only put her hands down after she got used to the light in the room.

The indoor scene came into view, and there was some doubt in Yu Youyou's amber-bright eyes.

This is not a sleep room.

The stone walls were simple and heavy, but were obscured by the vines winding around them. Red roses peeked in from the window, filling the entire room, and even climbed onto the gorgeous bed, entwining Yu Youyou's fingers.

Several starlings landed on the window sill, their black bean-like eyes curiously staring at Yu Youyou who had just woken up. A bold starling tentatively flew to Yu Youyou's shoulder and rubbed her cheek affectionately with its beak.

A slight itch spread across her cheeks. Yu Youyou sat up and looked at her much longer hair, feeling a little confused for a moment.

She placed it in front of her chest and compared it, recalling it slowly.

When she left, her hair was just reaching her waist, but now it seemed to have reached her buttocks.

So fast.

Has it been that long?

Yu Youyou lifted the thick quilt covering her body, stretched her stiff legs, and slowly got out of bed.

The floor was covered with a soft wool blanket, covered with vibrant roses.

Yu Youyou had changed into a white cotton nightgown at some point. The long skirt dragged on the ground, falling on the red roses that were abundant on the ground.

The roses seemed to have life, turning their petals and looking at her.

Yu Youyou frowned and raised her hand to touch the rose on the quilt. The rose that she touched seemed shy, and its petals converged towards the center, then carefully opened and touched her fingers.

Yu Youyou felt the touch of her fingers, looked around the room, and looked at the vibrant plants. "Where are you from?"

The voice came out a little hoarse, and Yu Youyou coughed lightly.

A starling landed on top of her head, and its clear chirping sound echoed in the house, as if responding to Youyou's question.

Yu Youyou listened quietly for a while, then nodded in understanding, "It's the plains surrounding the castle."

She paused, and then muttered as if she was puzzled:

"So this is the Lu family's castle?"

The rose on the wall trembled as it responded to Yu Youyou's question. Yu Youyou nodded and asked again, "Do you know where Lu Keming is?"

Yu Youyou raised her hand and gestured, describing him to the creature in the room: "He is a tall, thin boy who always has a cold face."

Starlings were circling in the house; their melodious chirping mixed with the rustling sound of roses on the wall, like a natural dance.

Yu Youyou's face was still a little stiff. She forced herself to raise the corners of her mouth, revealing a smile, and said to Rose and Starling:

"Thank you, I understand."

She slowly raised her arm, waved to Rose and Starling, and said with a smile, "I'm going to find him. You guys go back first."

After saying that, Yu Youyou lifted her heavy skirt, raised her feet that seemed to be untamed, and staggered out of the room.

There is a long corridor outside the room. The castle is not lively. Even with the complicated and gorgeous decorations, it still looks gloomy.

Yu Youyou held the wooden handrail, her steps becoming more and more skillful, from slow walking to slow running, and finally she reached the circular staircase. Below the stairs was the castle's hall, with warm sunlight shining in, spreading across the carpet with intricate patterns.

There seemed to be a sound of conversation outside. The curve of Yu Youyou's mouth deepened, and she staggered down the stairs.

When we left the castle, a sun-drenched garden came into view. In the flower pavilion at the end of the corridor, the sun was warm and scorching, and two young men were talking.

Yu Youyou's eyes lit up and she shouted at one of the young men:

"Lu Keming!"

Lu Keming was originally talking to his subordinates beside him. Perhaps he had encountered some troubles. There was some impatience in his handsome eyes, and the corners of his eyes were pressed down, making him look a little colder.

But after hearing Yu Youyou's shout, he immediately turned his head and looked in Yu Youyou's direction, staring in shock at Yu Youyou standing on the stairs.

Yu Youyou smiled and waved to Lu Keming.

He seemed to have grown taller, and the immaturity on his face had faded, but there was still a hint of gloom between his brows, like the dark and rich night, hiding the splendor of neon lights, yet still so gorgeous that it was intoxicating.

After a while, Lu Keming smiled back at Youyou.

With this smile, all the coldness on his face disappeared, as if he had walked from a cold night into a warm and lively spring day, with a whole field of flowers blooming.

The subordinate behind him looked at Yu Youyou for a few times and asked in a low voice: "President, do we need to prepare now?"

"Go." Lu Keming kept smiling and answered his subordinates' questions without turning his head.

Then, he walked up the stairs, looked at Yu Youyou with bare feet, and asked:

"Why don't you wear shoes?"

The smile on Yu Youyou's face was replaced by confusion, and she asked in confusion: "I didn't see it, are there any shoes?"

Lu Keming raised his eyes, looked at the rose petals hanging on Yu Youyou's clothes, sighed and said:

"It seems the flowers have hidden your shoes again."

“Rose?” Yu Youyou followed Lu Keming’s line of sight and plucked off the rose that had gotten caught on her clothes. She looked at Lu Keming with a smile, “They said they came from the plain outside their castle.”

"So that's how it is." Lu Keming raised his hand and held Yu Youyou's hand, leading her back. "At first I trimmed the roses that grew into the house, but soon they covered the entire room again."

"I saw that they seemed to like you very much, so I didn't move again."

Feeling Yu Youyou's staggering steps, Lu Keming naturally bent down and picked up Yu Youyou, saying as he walked:

"The small animals from the plains often come here, too. Sometimes they bring chestnuts from the forest, or some berries. They should be gifts for you."

His voice was very soft, like an elder telling a story. He recounted what happened when Yu Youyou was asleep, as if he had never parted with Yu Youyou.

"But berries rot after a few days, while chestnuts are better."

"There are also some careless little birds that will catch some bugs for you and put them in your bed. That gives me a headache."

Yu Youyou, who was held in Lu Keming's arms, blinked and asked excitedly, "Are you still there?"

Lu Keming glanced at Yu Youyou and said, "You like it very much. I threw away those weird gifts."

“Ah…” Yu Youyou sighed regretfully and glared at Lu Keming in condemnation, “They all mean well.”

Lu Keming had no regrets, "But I'm more afraid that those bugs and fruits will rot in your bed."

"Hmph." Yu Youyou muttered, then looked at Lu Keming's changed face and asked, "Have I slept for a long time?"

Lu Keming paused and looked straight ahead at the room full of roses. The handle of the wooden door had been worn smooth.

His eyes were dim and unclear. After a long time, he put Yu Youyou on the carpet, looked at her as if nothing had happened, and replied in a low voice:

"long time."

When he first learned that her consciousness was trapped in the intelligent brain due to a malfunction, he could hardly sleep every night. He was irritable and anxious, and summoned all the researchers on the continent to ask them to repair the program.

What followed was a long period of torment, with fear and anger coexisting and constantly tormenting his nerves.

He always hoped that she would wake up tomorrow. His neurasthenia and sensitivity that were constantly being tortured made him feel like he was being burned by fire.

After his expectations were dashed time and time again, even his anger had become numb, so he took her back to the castle. Only in this way could he get a moment of peace.

Lu Keming stared at Yu Youyou with his indigo eyes. His dark pupils were like the dark and endless universe. With unknown emotions, they sucked away other people's consciousness, making people uneasy and shudder.

He smiled, hugged Yu Youyou tighter, buried his head in her neck, hiding the wildly suppressed emotions in his eyes, and calming his boiling blood and trembling breathing.

"So, Youyou can never leave me again."
