God's Gift

Chapter 248 Familiar Speechlessness

On the second day, Yu Youyou arrived at the willow bank where she had met Lu Keming the day before as promised. It was early morning and there were vendors on the street displaying vegetables grown at home.

Yu Youyou walked around the street and sat down on a rock by the river out of boredom.

After a while, an old man came and sat down next to Yu Youyou with a bamboo pole and a bamboo basket. Yu Youyou looked at him for a long while and then moved closer stealthily.

"grandfather……"

As soon as he opened his mouth, the old man immediately looked at Yu Youyou, made a gesture to her to keep quiet, and then turned his head to look at the water seriously.

Yu Youyou was a little confused, but nodded, shut her mouth, and squatted quietly beside him.

But after a while, Yu Youyou's little dogs came over following the scent.

As soon as they arrived, more than a dozen dogs surrounded Yu Youyou and hummed, wagging their tails in various shapes and sizes very vigorously, and rubbing their heads against Yu Youyou's face.

And because Yu Youyou happened to be squatting, the dog's tail was swinging vigorously and kept hitting Yu Youyou's face.

Feeling a pain on her face, Yu Youyou closed her eyes and tilted her head back. As soon as she opened her eyes, another tail swept over, messing up her hair at the temples and blowing it into her eyes.

Those little dogs were completely unaware and kept licking Yu Youyou's hands, and their spinning tails hit Yu Youyou's face again and again.

Yu Youyou grabbed the tail, then followed the tail to the back of the puppy's neck, lifted it up from the ground, and bared her teeth at the puppy.

The puppy couldn't understand Yu Youyou's expression and was frightened by her baring of teeth for a second. It quickly folded its ears, but after Yu Youyou's expression returned to normal, the puppy began to grin again and wagged its tail non-stop.

"Tsk..." Yu Youyou sighed and was about to speak when the old man who was fishing in front of her turned his head and looked at her. After a few seconds, he looked away again, as if he didn't see Yu Youyou, and said in a sarcastic tone:

"Where did the little dog come from that kept barking? The big fish I was about to hook ran away."

Yu Youyou looked at the old man's erratic eyes, and then at a group of puppies squatting on the ground. After thinking for a few seconds, he grabbed a dog and held it in front of the old man, and replied seriously:

"Here it is."

The dog was suddenly lifted in front of the old man, with its soft belly and some part of its body facing him. The old man's face twitched, he snorted coldly, turned his head and continued to look at the river.

Yu Youyou scratched his head, put the puppy on the ground again, moved to the old man, and stared at the river intently.

After a long while, she blinked her eyes, stretched her head out to look at the river, and asked the old man next to her:

"Grandpa, where is the big fish?"

The river was calm, with not even a fish in sight. The old man stiffened his neck and said angrily, "If you hadn't been making such a fuss just now, I would have caught one by now!"

“Oh oh.” Yu Youyou retracted her head again, squatted beside the old man seriously, folded her hands and stared at the river intently, muttering: “Then stop arguing, you continue fishing.”

The old man coughed lightly and looked at the river intently again.

Seeing that their boss ignored them, a group of dogs nearby also ran to the river not far away to play in the water.

But Xiao Huang walked into the river, stared at one place with a fierce look, and stood there motionless. A black shadow swam through the water, and Xiao Huang immediately put his head into the water. After a while, he held a fish half as big as himself in his mouth and ran back to Yu Youyou's feet happily.

It threw the fish to Yu Youyou's feet as if to seek credit. Yu Youyou looked at the big fish jumping around on the ground and exchanged glances with the old man who was looking over.

The old man looked away and touched his nose in embarrassment, muttering to himself, "It is the hunting nature of these dogs to catch fish. How can they understand the joy of fishing?"

"Oh." Yu Youyou nodded seriously again.

Just then, a woman's voice came from behind, "Old man, come back for dinner!"

When the old man heard the sound, he immediately put down his fishing rod, gathered his clothes, and ran towards the direction where the sound came from.

The remaining Yu Youyou stood up, looked at the fishing rod that the old man put down, pondered for a while, and sat down in the place where the old man had sat originally.

When Lu Keming came out of Huachunfang, the sun had already reached the zenith. The Huachunfang was already a lively and joyful scene. He was the only one who turned away from the crowd and walked outside.

He was still wearing white clothes today, so plain without any extra colors, and he still wore a veil on his face all the time.

An actor in Huachunfang saw Lu Keming walking out from a gap in the crowd. He raised his head to look in the direction Lu Keming was walking, squinted his eyes, and chased after him in plain clothes.

It was too far away and the street was full of people, so Lu Keming didn't notice anyone following him.

His pace was not fast, he walked casually and leisurely, as if he was strolling along the shore, but he couldn't help looking around.

Lu Keming actually didn't know why he came out today. He just told her to wait for him and it was her business whether she came or not. But after waiting from morning till noon, he finally came out.

He still hasn't figured out why he asked Yu Youyou to wait for him here yesterday. They had just met once, but he always felt like he had known her for a long time.

The feeling of déjà vu actually made him begin to doubt whether what Yu Youyou said was true.

But even if humans can be reincarnated, what relationship can he, a demon, have with a human woman? Even in the mortal world, she is a lady of a rich family, and there is a huge gap between him and her.

What's more, he is not a good guy and there is no chance for him to live in peace with humans.

Moreover, Yu Youyou witnessed him murdering someone with her own eyes.

It would have been fine if it was the gentleman at the front, but when he pierced the assassin's chest later, Yu Youyou was right next to him.

He walked too fast yesterday and did not notice Yu Youyou's subsequent reaction, and he didn't even see her expression at the time.

Thinking of this, Lu Keming stopped and made a self-deprecating sound.

"You really..."

What on earth was he thinking? What did it have to do with him whether she was disgusted by his blood-stained appearance or not? Why should he care?

Is it possible that a monster that kills people without blinking an eye would be harmed by the hesitation of a human?

Lu Keming chuckled, his eyes revealed outside the veil were a little cold. He decisively turned around and wanted to go back, but as soon as he turned his head, he saw Yu Youyou sitting under the bridge in front of him.

She was holding a bamboo pole and dragging a big, fat fish ashore. She skillfully took the fish off the hook and put it into a bamboo basket on the side.

Lu Keming looked at Yu Youyou's back and frowned slightly. Just as he was about to walk over, he saw Yu Youyou put down the bamboo pole and stretched out her hand.

Lu Keming thought Yu Youyou was going to turn around, and just as he was about to take a step forward, he saw her put her hand on her butt and scratch it a few times.

The veins at the corners of Lu Keming's eyes twitched as he recalled what he had just said about Youyou.

Miss Jinzhiyuye...

He closed his eyes a little speechlessly, but as if thinking of something, a forced smile curled up at the corner of his mouth.

Even this speechless emotion is particularly familiar.
