God's Gift

Chapter 243 Ghost Atlas

"Engaged to Ajin?" Yu Youyou was surprised for a moment when she heard Lu Keming's words.

Is it Ajin this time?

Lu Keming glanced at Yu Youyou and did not answer the question. Instead, he asked, "From what Fang Ling said, you are familiar with the Ning family?"

"Yes." Yu Youyou nodded and explained, "I still live in the general's mansion."

Lu Keming frowned, raised his eyes to look at Yu Youyou, and asked calmly: "Then you don't know about their engagement, and the Ning brothers and sisters never told you about it?"

"No." Yu Youyou thought for a few seconds and realized that Ning Yue and Ning Jin had never mentioned this to her.

Lu Keming didn't care about this matter. He wiped his fingers, put the handkerchief into his sleeve, turned around and walked towards the street market.

Yu Youyou looked up and found that Lu Keming had already walked forward. She chased him again and asked, "Where do you live? How can I see you?"

Hearing Yu Youyou's question, Lu Keming paused, his calm eyes looking forward, his gaze stagnant. After a long while, he retracted his gaze and replied casually: "Don't come to me."

"Ah?" Yu Youyou snorted in disappointment, but her little mouth continued to move. She followed Lu Keming and muttered, "But I want to see you."

"I've been waiting for so long, please let me see you again..."

Her mumbling voice kept coming into his ears. Lu Keming took a deep breath, turned his head to look at Yu Youyou, and after a few seconds of silence, he said:

"If you want to see me..."

Yu Youyou tilted her head carefully to listen to Lu Keming's words, her bright eyes looking straight at him. But before Lu Keming finished speaking, the smile on her face faded, and her harmless gaze became a little more fierce as she looked straight behind Lu Keming.

Lu Keming immediately noticed Yu Youyou's gaze. Almost within a second, he hugged Yu Youyou, quickly moved a few steps to the side, and leaned against the willow tree by the river.

Because of his avoidance, the dagger in a man's hand missed the target. Due to inertia, he ran forward a few steps before he barely stopped. Then he immediately turned around and stabbed towards Lu Keying.

Lu Keming glanced at Yu Youyou in his arms, pushed her aside, and walked forward. He made a claw-like shape with his right hand and reached sideways to grab the man's heart.

The sound of cloth tearing was heard, followed by the muffled sound of flesh being torn. The man stopped moving, his eyes widened, and the dagger in his hand froze in mid-air.

Yu Youyou in the back kept looking at the silver dagger in the man's hand. The patterns on the dagger reflected the light in the sun.

This was the third time she had seen the dagger.

The first time was when the man in black handed it to her personally, the second time was when Fang Ziang handed it to her, and the third time was here.

A gust of wind with a little chill blew through the willow trees. The willow branches swayed in the air. Yu Youyou's long hair was blown by the wind. She looked at the dagger calmly without saying a word.

Lu Keming's right hand was completely inserted into the man's chest. A corner of the veil on his face was lifted, revealing his face underneath the veil.

It was an extremely delicate face, like a work completed by a craftsman after careful consideration of every cut on jade. At this moment, he glanced at the dagger in the man's hand, and the fingers holding the man's heart exerted force, causing the man to spit out a mouthful of blood. He looked at the blood and raised a cold smile.

But that gaze seemed to be soaked in tiny ice crystals, which made people shudder. Lu Keming used force with his right hand to pull it out of the man's body. The man lost his support and fell to the ground.

Lu Keming lowered his eyes and looked down at the corpse on the ground, and said in a cold voice: "The six hundred and twenty-first time."

"The 621st assassination?" Yu Youyou stepped forward, looked at the corpse on the ground, and asked.

When Lu Keming heard Yu Youyou's voice, he subconsciously looked at himself. The bloodstains on his hands and clothes were particularly obvious, making him look a little dirty.

He quickly put his bloody hand behind his back and threw the heart on the ground. Looking at the clean Yu Youyou, he felt a little anxious in his heart and replied, "Yeah."

He has always handled things in this straightforward way, but now he began to doubt whether this was too bloody and would dirty his clothes.

Lu Keming shook his hand anxiously and said to Youyou:

"I have something to go back for. If you want to see me later, wait for me nearby."

After saying that, he turned around anxiously, and without waiting for Yu Yu to ask any more questions, he walked forward quickly, fearing that Yu Yu would catch up with him.

Yu Youyou glanced at Lu Keming's back as he left, but did not continue to chase him. Instead, she squatted down and looked at the male corpse lying on the ground. The dagger in his hand had disappeared out of thin air without a trace.

"Why are you so persistent?" Yu Youyou muttered, and looked around. No one was passing by at this time.

Yu Youyou raised her hand and waved it beside the man. A burst of green light fell, and the grass sprouts in the cracks of the bluestone slabs around the man began to grow wildly, quickly wrapping the man completely.

In a short period of time, the grasses blossomed, bore fruit, and withered. The fruits fell into the man's body, and new weeds grew from the man's flesh and blood.

Soon, not only weeds, but also mosses and molds were climbing on the man's body. Many insects climbed up the grass stems and devoured his flesh and blood.

As Yu Youyou watched the man rotting on the ground, the system in her mind, which had been silent for a long time, finally dared to speak and asked:

[God, why don't you hide your whereabouts?]

When Yu Youyou heard this question, she didn't answer immediately. After a long while, she raised a subtle arc at the corner of her mouth and said softly, "We will meet sooner or later."

[But if the god is found by the Dark Star, it may be harmful to the god.]

Yu Youyou lowered her eyes and looked at the man on the ground without saying a word.

In just one minute, the man turned into a handful of soil and disappeared into the bluestone slabs.

Her eyes were calm, without any emotion. After a long while, she replied:

"Its main body has long been dormant, and its body in this world is just a part of it. The two of us are no different now."

[Then why don't the gods take action first and destroy the Dark Star.]

"Destruction?" Yu Youyou asked back, shook her head, but did not explain to the system. She stood up, clapped her hands as if nothing had happened, and walked towards the crowded place.

The street vendors were still shouting. Yu Youyou looked around and walked into a bookstore. She walked around the store like she was in the know and saw a book called "Atlas of a Hundred Ghosts" on the bookshelf. She blinked curiously and tiptoed to take the book down.
