God's Gift

Chapter 196 Leaving

Lu Keming hugged Yu Youyou and looked at Granny Li who looked anxious. He suddenly felt a little uneasy. He held Granny Li who was pushing them out and asked, "What's wrong?"

Granny Li didn't explain a word, she just kept pushing them out, "Just take it away, follow it, leave, leave here!"

Yu Youyou stared at Grandma Li intently, and after seeing tears in the corners of her eyes, she stretched out her paw and patted Grandma Li's arm.

Granny Li stopped what she was doing, forced a sad smile, raised her withered and wrinkled hand, touched Yu Youyou's head twice, and whispered, "Let's go, this place is not good, go out and find a good family."

Before Youyou could react, she reached out and pushed them out of the door, then closed it tightly.

Lu Keming looked at the closed door, then took a step back while holding Yu Youyou, feeling no obstruction under his feet.

Only then did Lu Keming breathe a sigh of relief.

The fact that she was able to take Yu Youyou away means that Grandma Li’s dog was sent away by her at that time.

Shen Minghua noticed Lu Keming's actions and quickly understood what he was thinking. "If we are still in the past, then the Lijia Village we saw when we first came here is its future appearance. Since we can take Youyou away, it means that nothing happened to the original dog."

Lu Keming didn't say anything. His eyes fell on Yu Youyou who was staring at the door, and he nodded casually to Shen Minghua.

"What will Lijia Village look like in the future?" Fang Ziang was surprised when he heard Shen Minghua's words, "The cemetery as well?"

"It should be." Shen Minghua hadn't paid much attention to the existence of the cemetery until Fang Ziang mentioned it. "It looks like it's the grave of the villagers of Lijia Village."

Yu Youyou's gaze moved back from the door and turned to Shen Minghua and Fang Ziang, moving back and forth between them several times.

Lu Keming listened to their conversation, but there was no surprise on his face. Instead, he kept looking at Yu Youyou intently, lowered his head and asked softly: "Youyou, shall we go?"

Yu Youyou then retracted her gaze, looked up at Lu Keming, and replied, "Okay."

There was a smile on Lu Keming's face, and he walked out holding Yu Youyou.

The snow fell heavier and heavier, falling on several people and forming a thick layer on the yellow ground. As several people walked by, several sets of footprints of varying depths were left on the ground.

Lu Keming's smart brain vibrated. He pulled out one hand, lifted Yu Youyou with one hand, opened the smart brain and saw the message sent by Anthony.

"Master, Ah Chou went to the mountain to look for Chen Qingqiu."

He looked at the message with no expression on his face and sent a message to Anthony.

"Check who Granny Li met today."

"Yes." Anthony replied quickly.

Lu Keming then turned off his intelligent brain, reached out to brush away the snow on Yu Youyou's fur, warmed his hands, then put his hands under Yu Youyou's body and picked her up with both hands.

Yu Youyou rested her chin on Lu Keming's arm, shook her ears twice, raised her eyelids to look at Lu Keming, then lowered her head sadly, letting out a sigh of relief.

Lu Keming could only see Yu Youyou's head, so he couldn't see the expression of Yu Youyou in his arms. He changed direction and walked towards the village entrance.

"Going to see Chen Qingqiu?" Shen Minghua noticed his route and walked up to ask.

Lu Keming stopped, looked at Shen Minghua indifferently for a second, and continued walking: "Ah Chou is going to save Chen Qingqiu."

"A Chou?" Ye Li frowned when he heard this, "How can she save Chen Qingqiu?"

Using an ordinary person's body to fight against the Thousand-Faced Buddha and the villagers is like a moth flying into a flame.

"Who knows." Lu Keming's voice was emotionless. "Since it has already happened, you can't change what she wants to do."

Ye Li fell silent. Her gaze moved to Yu Youyou. She noticed that Yu Youyou was absent-minded and thought she was worried about Grandma Li. She sighed, took out a few pieces of dried meat from the bag in her hand and handed them to Yu Youyou.

"Grandma made it for you, eat some when you're hungry."

"Thank you, A'li." Yu Youyou looked at the dried meat in Ye Li's hand, her eyes lit up, she took the dried meat, jumped from Lu Keming's hand, chewed while walking, walked a few steps, remembered something, and muttered something.

"Thank you too, grandma."

After hearing her words, Lu Keming was silent for a second, then looked at the snow on the ground and changed the subject, "The ground is cold, I'll carry you."

“No need.” Yu Youyou shook her head, raised her paws to look at the snow on her paw pads, and said seriously, “I’m not cold.”

Lu Keming lowered his eyes, and the tiny snowflakes reflected in his gaze, which was clear and chilly. He whispered, "Is that so?"

But those words were lost in the rustling sound of the falling snow, and no one heard them.

A few people avoided the main road and walked up the mountain along the path where the Buddhist shrine was. Yu Youyou's claws stepped on the snow and soon left a string of plum blossoms on the snow.

Lu Keming walked behind Yu Youyou, his eyes falling on the series of footprints under her feet.

The sound of footsteps came from the woods. Yu Youyou stopped, looked over there, and saw a group of villagers.

The villagers were all dressed up, wearing black robes for the Buddha Festival, with runes painted on their faces with red and yellow paint.

The remaining seven girls were also taken up the mountain by the villagers.

"Is this the final sacrifice?" Fang Ziang stared blankly at the villagers who were dressed strangely.

The villagers moved quickly and soon surpassed several people.

"Let's go." Shen Minghua called Fang Ziang, turned around and quickly followed with Ye Li.

Lu Keming picked up Yu Youyou, who was still walking on the snow, and followed the villagers around to the back of the mountain and came to the stone gate again.

A huge circle was drawn in blood on the ground in front of the stone gate, with scriptures densely written in the center. The girls from yesterday knelt in a circle in the garden. Even though they struggled in fear, they could not escape the bondage of the black fog.

Chen Qingqiu fell against the wall. His shirt, which was usually neatly dressed, became disheveled, and there were several obvious bloodstains on his clothes, showing that he had been beaten by the villagers.

He seemed to be enduring a dull pain, forcing his eyes open, his gaze fixed on the girls kneeling in the center of the rune.

The villagers drove the newly brought girls to the rune center, and the black mist quickly entangled the girls.

"Grandpa, I want to go home!" The old patriarch's granddaughter looked at the black mist on her body with fear, fell to the ground in a mess, and crawled towards the old patriarch outside the circle.

The old patriarch lowered his head and looked at his granddaughter. He patted her head kindly and led her to the center. "Don't be afraid, my dear. You will be fine soon."

The old patriarch's granddaughter's body was shaking. She tightly grasped the old patriarch's hand and looked at him crying, "Grandpa, please don't. I want to go home. My mother is waiting for me."

The old patriarch just patted her head without answering. He turned to look at the villagers behind him and asked, "Where is the dog?"
