God's Gift

Chapter 168 Backtracking

Lu Keming's cold voice came from above her head. Yu Youyou raised her head and saw the faint smile on his face and his eyes that were a little misty in the gloomy sky.

"Okay." Yu Youyou stared at Lu Keming's face and nodded.

So Lu Keming carried Yu Youyou back to the house and put her in bed.

The rain lasted for the entire night. It started out as a drizzle, then grew heavier, and the sky and the earth were covered in white.

Water accumulated on the country road. The raindrops rolled on the road a few times and turned yellow. They flowed along the path into the fields, overflowed the ridges of the fields, and flowed into the valley with lower terrain.

In the middle of the night, Yu Youyou's body twitched. She woke up from her sleep, opened her dark eyes, and looked around the dark room. She ran to the bed, stepped on the windowsill with her two front paws, and looked outside through the locked window.

The rain became lighter at this moment, and the vegetables in the yard were beaten down and drooped.

Yu Youyou stood on the windowsill and looked for a while, then lowered her head to look at her clothes.

It's gotten bigger.

The seat next to him was vacated. Lu Keming opened his eyes and looked sleepily at Yu Youyou who was sitting by the window. His voice sounded a little tired as if he had just woken up.

"what happened?"

Yu Youyou turned her head and looked at Lu Keming. She rolled her eyes and replied, "It's okay."

Lu Keming reached out his hand, hugged Yu Youyou back, put her in the warm quilt, raised his hand and gently patted her back, "Sleep a little longer."

Yu Youyou quickly closed her eyes again, and after she fell asleep, Lu Keming lay down again and closed his eyes as well.

When she woke up in the morning, it was still raining. Granny Li was trapped at home by the rain and did not go to the fields to work. She put a brazier under the eaves, burned some firewood in it, and a group of people sat around the brazier to keep warm.

Lu Keming changed Yu Youyou's clothes and tried them on her. He felt a little strange about the larger clothes and asked, "Have you lost weight?"

Yu Youyou lowered her head and looked at the clothes for a long time. Her eyes rolled around and she was thinking about something. She looked up at Lu Keming and said, "Yeah, I'm so thin because of hunger. I have to eat more later."

Lu Keming, who had been intentionally controlling Yu Youyou's food intake in the past few days, was stunned for a second when he heard this. He didn't expect that he could make Yu Youyou thin by just giving her a few less pieces of meat.

But when Godot was young, he ate much less than Yu Youyou, but he didn't lose weight.

Is it possible that the Tusong dog is different from other dogs?

Lu Keming thought about it and decided that he really should let her eat more.

After they finished cleaning up here, Yu Youyou jumped out of his arms, ran to the brazier, raised her paw and patted Grandma Li's hand, then pointed at the sweet potatoes in the brazier.

Granny Li laughed, shook her head and said, "Look at how impatient you are. It's not cooked yet. Wait a little longer."

Yu Youyou wagged her tail and sat down obediently.

Lu Keming walked to the gate and stood under the eaves for a long time, watching the rain in the sky.

Yu Youyou turned around and saw Lu Keming standing by the door. She tilted her head and thought for a moment, then stood up and ran to Lu Keming's feet in the heavy rain.

Lu Keming saw a white shadow rushing over. He lowered his head, looked at Yu Youyou who was covered in rain, and raised his hand to press his forehead.

Then he took out a towel from the space, placed it on Yu Youyou's fur, and wiped away the rain bit by bit.

"Why are you here?"

Yu Youyou chuckled and said nothing, just stretched out her claws to scratch Lu Keming.

The corners of Lu Keying's mouth gradually rose.

But out of the corner of his eye he saw a figure walking by. Lu Keming turned his head and looked at the person, and the smile on his lips gradually froze.

The man passing by holding an old umbrella was none other than the old clan leader who had been eliminated by Lu Keming.

Anthony was walking towards the door and was also shocked when he saw the person outside.

"Isn't that guy... already dead?"

The Thousand-Faced Buddha also has a resurrection business?

Lu Keming frowned and looked at the old patriarch who was gradually walking away. He turned to look at Yu Youyou and said, "I'll go over and take a look. You wait here for me."

Yu Youyou glanced at the old patriarch who was walking away, without any surprise in her eyes, and nodded to Lu Keming.

Lu Keming then stood up, took Anthony into the rain and chased after them.

When the two men caught up with the old patriarch, Lu Keming looked at the old patriarch's back, his eyes darkened, and he took a few steps forward to stop him.

The old patriarch stopped, looked at the two strange young men in front of him with cloudy eyes, and asked, "Who are you?"

"We are tourists who came to the village to watch the Buddha Worship Festival not long ago. We have been staying at Grandma Li's house for the past few days." Lu Keming explained a few words, with an unclear expression in his eyes, and then asked: "Excuse me, are you the clan leader?"

"Yes." The old patriarch nodded and added, "The Buddha Worship Festival is still seven days away. Why are you here so early?"

Hearing his words, Lu Keming was startled, but he quickly recovered his expression and replied with a smile: "Yes, we wanted to come to the village early so that we can see how the villagers prepare for the Buddha Worship Festival."

The old patriarch nodded and asked, "What do you want from me?"

"Lijia Village has a long-standing reputation, so naturally we want to pay a visit to you, the clan leader. I'm so excited to see you today, and it might be a bit abrupt." Lu Keming's smile didn't reach his eyes, so he made way, with no deep meaning in his eyes.

"Then we will come back to visit the clan leader in a few days. We won't bother you now."

The old patriarch looked back and forth between the two of them, and the smile on Anthony's face became even more sincere. The old patriarch then left hesitantly.

After he left, Anthony immediately walked to Lu Keming and said, "Master, what does the patriarch mean? The Buddha Worship Festival is still seven days away?"

Lu Keming did not respond to him quickly. The rain that had fallen all night was about to stop, with only a few sparse drops. His gaze swept across the grass and trees in the village, with a hint of deep thought in his eyes.

When they arrived, the leaves on the trees in the village had already fallen, but now the withered yellow leaves were still hanging on the branches, and a large part of them had not even turned completely yellow.

"Time has gone back."

He lowered his eyes, pressed his fingers, and looked unhappy.

So this time it's backtracking.

"Master, what does this mean?" Anthony didn't understand what Lu Keming meant, so he asked quickly.

But Lu Keming ignored him and walked back quickly.

After the two left, Yu Youyou stood at the door waiting for a long time and then felt a little bored.

As she was bored, she watched the rain in front of the door gather into a stream. When she saw that the rain had stopped, she had some crooked ideas. She walked out of the eaves and to the middle of the road.

Yu Youyou lowered her head, looked at the muddy path and the stream in the middle of the road, and slowly stretched out her paws and stepped into the water.

The cold rain flowed over the claws, leaving some yellow mud. A smile gradually broke out on Yu Youyou's face, and the tail behind her began to wag.

She jumped up and down a few times, put all her feet in the water, and rolled around with joy.

Ye Li didn't see Yu Youyou for a long time, so when he went out to look, there was only a small thing covered in yellow mud in the soil.

Ye Li's expression froze, and he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
