God's Gift

Chapter 109 Exposed

Before daybreak, it crawled out of the swamp and walked into the forest.

Yu Youyou followed behind the Wendigo, watching it walk along the path covered with fallen leaves. The mud on its body was stained with some leaves. Yu Youyou followed behind and kept picking the leaves off the Wendigo.

When the sun came to the center, the mud on Wendigo's body was clotted, and pieces fell off because of its movement. It walked slowly, looking for a flower that hadn't faded.

Yu Youyou rolled her eyes, walked to the front of the Wendigo, and made an arrow with leaves.

The Wendigo looked at the arrow for a long time, then walked to the other side in the direction of the arrow.

At the end of the path there was a bunch of hydrangeas. The blue petals were particularly eye-catching in the woods. Wendigo walked over, carefully picked a hydrangea, turned around and slowly moved towards the castle.

Andy waited from morning to afternoon that day, and the Wendigo finally arrived when the sun set.

Just as Andy was about to get angry, he saw the hydrangea in his hand.

If she remembered correctly, this kind of hydrangea can only be found in the forest.

Andy realized belatedly that the swamp had already entered autumn. His tense expression relaxed and he poked Wendigo, "Don't send flowers when there are no more."

Wendigo didn't say anything, but still sent the hydrangea the next day.

Then Andy remembered the long silence of the Wendigo when she started to trick it into delivering flowers every day.

Maybe it’s not because they don’t want to, but because all the flowers in the swamp will wither one day.

If all the flowers in the swamp withered, it would not be able to keep delivering flowers.

After that, the Wendigo always kept its promise to Antti. No matter what season it was, it would find flowers to give to Antti.

Andy became happier and was no longer as withdrawn as he had been just after his parents passed away.

Winter is approaching, but her life is welcoming the warm spring.

But the good times didn't last long. Most people in the castle noticed that Anti was abnormal, and the rumor soon reached Asta's ears, and he raided Anti's room.

Andy, who had just sent the Wendigo away, was so scared that he broke out in a cold sweat.

The next day, when Wendigo came again, Anti stopped him outside.

"You can't come in anymore."

The Wendigo stared at Andy blankly, then lowered his head after a while and slowly put the flowers in his hand into Andy's hand.

Andy, who had always been stubborn and strong-willed, looked at the flowers in her hand and suddenly started crying.

Wendigo looked at Andy helplessly and stretched out his hand to catch Andy's tears.

Yu Youyou stood by, looking at the tears on Andy's face curiously, and also imitated the Wendigo to catch the tears.

The hot tears fell through Yu Youyou's hand and into Wendigo's hand, melting it.

Andy looked at Wendigo's hand and burst out laughing.

"You know you can come at night next time?" An Di pointed to the sky again, fearing that Wendigo would not understand. "When the moon rises, come and knock on the door quietly. Then I will know you are here."

The Wendigo was still stunned, but it didn't come the next day.

At night, the moon rose from the sky and everyone in the castle had fallen asleep. Antie tiptoed to the first floor and stood guard at the door.

There was a slight knock on the door, and Andy's face lit up with joy. He opened the door and ran out.

"Wendigo, you're here."

Under the bright moonlight, Andy took the Wendigo's hand without any disgust and took it to the swamp.

Winter passed and the flowers in the swamp bloomed again. Andy was sleeping on the wooden bridge, with a Wendigo as tall as her sitting next to her.

Yu Youyou was lying in the reeds on the side, with a thick layer of reed fluff under her body, and she was rocking casually with her feet raised.

Suddenly, dark clouds gathered in the sky and a drop of rain fell.

Within seconds, the rain got heavier, soaking half of Andi's clothes. The Wendigo raised his hand and stretched it over Andi's head blankly to help her block the rain.

The mud on its body was constantly washed away by the rain, and it became smaller and smaller, until it was only as small as Anti's fist, and could no longer help Anti to block the rain.

Andy was awakened by the raindrops, and when he woke up all he saw was a pool of mud and a piece of tooth beside him.

Andy looked at the mud around him blankly, reached out to scoop it up, but found nothing except the neat set of teeth.

The Wendigo is dead.

She burst into tears.

After a long time, Andy cried until she had no more tears left. Yu Youyou walked over and kicked the teeth with her foot.

In an instant, the teeth emitted a white fluorescence, and the fallen mud gradually gathered together to form the shape of a Wendigo.

Andy looked at the Wendigo that had been lost and found again, and immediately hugged the stupid Wendigo, crying:

"Idiot, you can't do this again!"

The Wendigo was held in Andy's arms and nodded slowly.

Behind her, a figure holding an umbrella gradually went away. Yu Youyou looked back, then turned her head indifferently to look at Wendigo and Andy.

As time went by, Andy grew taller and taller. When she was ten years old, she was half a head taller than the Wendigo.

Asta's discipline on her became increasingly strict, almost to the point of complete control. Even what she ate had to be approved by Asta.

All the inheritance that Andi received was managed by Asta. Andi understood that Asta was plotting to take her family's property, but the money was meaningless to her.

But Asta's desire goes far beyond that. In the past few years, he has been secretly looking for something in the castle, but has not found it yet.

Although he didn't show it, Anti guessed his urgency from his increasingly impatient expression.

She squeezed the necklace around her neck and became more silent in front of Asta.

But Astha still kept his eyes on her.

One day, he called her into his study and asked her gently if she had ever seen a red gem.

Anti shook her head and told Astha that she didn't know.

Although she didn't know what the two gems were used for, her parents had specifically told her not to give them to anyone before they died.

They said that they were evil stones that could mislead people and must be destroyed.

Anti avoided Asta's suspicious gaze, pretended to be impatient, turned around and left the study.

But Asta kept staring at Andy's back.

Andi had a bad feeling, and when she met the Wendigo at night, her expression was a little bitter.

The Wendigo clapped her hands, and Anti laughed again.

But soon, her premonition came true.

The Wendigo disappeared, and Andy saw a pool of mud outside the castle and his face turned pale with fright.

She squatted down and searched everywhere for the wendigo's teeth, but found nothing.

Asta's voice came from behind, "Are you looking for your friend?"

Andy was so frightened that he sat down on the ground, looked up at Asta, and asked in disbelief: "What did you say, who is my friend?"

"That moving mud." Asta said meaningfully.

Anti's face lost all color, and she looked at the interest in Asta's eyes and immediately guessed what Asta had done.

"What did you do to it?" Anti looked at Asta coldly, his little body shaking constantly.

"What else can I do? My Miss Andy cannot be friends with a monster." Asta smiled, but the words he said were more vicious than the last. "I killed it."

"You're talking nonsense, it won't die!" Anti looked at Asta angrily.

Asta sneered, "Its body is right here, do you still think it won't die?"

Andy gritted her teeth, tears falling from her eyes. She ran forward, grabbed Asta's clothes and tore them apart.

At this time, she was no longer a lady or a noble lady, she was just a child who had lost her friends.

Asta held Antii down, looked down at her and said, "If you want it to come back to life, you can. Give me the gem."
