Harry Potter: Who cares about belated motherly love?

Chapter 30 There's something wrong with this mouse

Finally the day came for them both to return.

"Why aren't Bill and Charlie here yet?"

The twins looked anxious and uneasy.

I couldn't wait any longer, and although I really wanted to go to the platform at the station to greet them, considering Percy's condition, I could only wait at home.

In order to officially announce to the outside world that Bill and Charlie were officially adopted by the Weasley family, the current head and his wife and the next head and his wife went to pick them up together.

I waited in the foyer dressed in my favorite dress that the Prewett grandmothers had remade for me.

With a "pop" sound, they came back using Apparition.

"Welcome home!"

When I saw Bill and Charlie, I couldn't help but rush over to them, and they hugged me one by one.

The brothers reunited after a long absence and made a noise in the hallway.

But when I saw my uncle, he was staring into the cage of Charlie's pet mouse, and Mr. Ignatius was looking at the mouse with a puzzled look on his face.

And, oddly enough, they both held wands.

They noticed that I was looking and said:

"Kids, why don't you put your luggage back in your room and go to the living room? There's definitely a lot to talk about when brothers get together."

"By the way, Charlie, can I borrow this mouse? I may not be able to return it."

Charlie replied:

"sure, no problem."

"My father saw that mouse in a pet store. It was being sold at a low price at the time. Because it was cheap, my father made an exception and bought it for me as a school admission gift."

"Oh, I see……"

After that, they walked towards the study.

This incident later caused a great uproar in the entire wizarding world.

……

In order to allow the brothers to relax, the aunts prepared snacks and tea and left the room.

"By the way, your costumes are amazing."

"Not bad, right?"

"The Prewett grandmothers make us lots of clothes! Most of them are old clothes from the mansion or the old Prewett family house, but they redesign them into modern styles. I guess they'll make some for Bill and Charlie, too."

Bill took something out of the suitcase.

"First, this is a gift for Percy. This is a magic book I made myself. It's more powerful than the previous version. Charlie also helped a lot."

Percy's eyes widened.

"Ah...ah..."

Tears suddenly welled up in Percy's eyes and flowed down.

He clasped the book that was handed to him in his hands.

Seeing this, Bill hugged Percy gently.

Then Charlie, Fred, George and I followed suit.

As we huddled together, Percy whispered:

"Thank you... thank you..."

His voice was a little hoarse because he hadn't spoken for a long time.

Hearing this, the twins suddenly collapsed to the ground and started crying loudly.

Seeing them like this, Percy gave them a troubled look and gently stroked their heads.

"I'm sorry... I made you worry... Thank you..."

As soon as he finished speaking, the twins started crying even harder and it looked like they wouldn't be able to stop for a while.

So Bill and Charlie picked them up and comforted them gently.

They clung to Bill and Charlie like koalas.

Perhaps, Fred and George finally felt at ease.

Percy started to cough from not speaking for a long time.

I offered him a cup of tea and suggested a snack.

I also brought tea and snacks to Bill and Charlie, who were sitting on the sofa holding the twins.

Soon after, the twins got tired of crying and fell asleep.

Bill and Charlie's clothes were also wet with their tears and snot.

They decided to take this opportunity to go to their room to change clothes and give the twins a break.

Percy sat in a chair by the window, pulled me onto his lap, and we began to read together the book Bill had made.

Before Percy had his problems, I used to read with him on my lap like this.

This long-awaited action almost made me cry, but I tried hard to hold it back.

But in the end, the tears couldn't stop flowing.

Seeing me like this, Percy showed a troubled expression and said softly:

"Ronald is still a child? I'm sorry, I pushed you."

He wiped away my tears tenderly.

Percy then hugged me from behind and we quietly read together the book Bill had specially prepared.

Just like we always did at the window of that house before we came here.

It's just some simple things, but I feel so happy.

Not only Fred and George, I myself finally felt my tense nerves relax.
