The Witcher: Darkness Falls
Chapter 80 Bishop
In the castle of the Earl of Grampian.
Lyon, Maddison and McLaren were sitting in the reception room waiting.
Madison looked at Leon and seemed to be hesitant to speak. He really wanted to ask Leon how he managed to kill nearly three hundred goblins in just one hour.
After they entered the cave, they moved slowly inside, waiting for news from Leon and the others.
Then they heard muffled screams coming from deep within the cave.
The screams were mixed, and they could imagine that there were hundreds or possibly even thousands of goblins inside.
Madison wanted to bring people to help, but the cave was dark and the road was slippery.
There were so many of them, it was impossible for them to pass as quickly as Leon and his group.
Gradually, the sound inside became smaller and smaller, and finally disappeared completely.
"The Demon Hunters are finished." Madison thought to himself, and he began to get scared.
They are also in this cave now. Once the goblins rush out in droves, they will be doomed.
It is impossible to use bombs here, and the formation cannot be deployed.
Not to mention the huge monsters like the goblins, even hundreds of small goblins can take their lives.
And once they use the bomb, the cave might collapse and bury everything.
However, now that they have come this far, they have no reason to retreat.
Madison could feel that the emotion of fear was like the dark clouds in the sky outside the cave, gathering above everyone's heads.
If one person retreats, the rest will follow.
They are now relying on the courage they had at the beginning to hold on until now. Once they let go of this courage, they will never be able to pick it up again.
Just when everyone was worried and nervous, a torch appeared in front of everyone, and then the witcher walked out of the darkness and told them that the matter had been resolved.
Madison was very curious about how Leon managed to get rid of so many goblins.
But when he saw the tragic situation inside the cave, his curiosity was immediately overwhelmed by other emotions.
He was in no mood to ask about anything else.
And now, he wanted to ask.
But Leon kept his eyes closed, as if he was asleep.
But in fact, Leon was just practicing meditation with his eyes closed.
He could sense Madison's confusion. In fact, most of the goblins in the cave were killed by McLaren and had nothing to do with him.
It's just that no one asked at first, and he had no intention of explaining.
And now, McLaren also sat quietly, he was calm and seemed very natural.
There were coughing and talking sounds outside the door, as well as the sound of metal colliding on armor.
Madison stood up first, adjusting the hem of his armor lining.
Leon stopped practicing, opened his eyes, and stood up.
McLaren stood up almost at the same time as Lyon.
At about the same time, the Earl of Grampian walked in, smoking a cigarette, with a spirited old man in a red robe.
Behind the two of them, a majestic knight in dark gold armor also walked in. The metal collision sound came from his knight boots.
Lyon quickly glanced at the white-haired old man following the Earl of Grampian.
He was tall and wore the same robe as Camaro.
The only difference is that Camaro's robe is black, while the old man's robe is red.
And the old man didn't have a golden cross or anything on his chest.
But his robe had a twenty-centimeter-wide golden lace from the collar to the hem.
There is also a horizontal golden lace on his shoulders.
The two strips of lace intertwined in front of him to form a life-sized golden cross pattern.
Then, his gaze shifted to the fully armed knight behind the bishop.
He was over two meters tall! Standing behind the Earl of Grampian and the white-haired old man, he looked as strong as a bear!
"Look, our hero! Ahem. Sorry to have kept you waiting. Please sit down." After Earl Granby came in, he stopped talking to the old man in red robe.
"Your Majesty, Earl." Madison saluted.
Leon didn't say anything.
McLaren took a step forward and knelt on one knee to salute the old man in red next to Earl Grampian: "Your Excellency the Bishop, I have done my duty."
Madison looked at McLaren in surprise, not knowing what was going on.
Lord Grampian had a blank expression on his face, but a hint of interest flashed in his eyes as he looked at the man half-kneeling in front of him.
Leon had no expression on his face, because he already knew McLaren's true identity, and he also knew that someone from the Church of the True God living in the Nilfgaard region was coming.
But, it turned out to be a bishop.
He remembered that Mrs. Evertson had told him that ten True God believers had come to Nilfgaard, including a bishop, two priests, and seven defenders of the faith, or Knights of the Holy Light.
McLaren is one of the seven, so the person in front of him is the leader of these ten people, the Bishop.
"You did a good job, come back." The bishop spoke, his voice was kind yet serious, like the voice of a respected elder.
McLaren stood up.
"Bow to our Lord Earl," the bishop said again.
"My Lord Earl!" McLaren bowed neither humbly nor arrogantly, then came behind the bishop and stood side by side with the Golden Knight.
Lord Grampian nodded and took the first seat.
The bishop followed, and as he passed Lyon, he smiled and nodded.
Leon nodded in response, and then the two looked at each other.
When everyone was seated, Lord Grampian began to speak.
"Tell me about it, ahem! Commander Madison, tell me what happened."
"Yes, sir." Madison nodded slightly, took a deep breath, suppressed the doubts in his heart, and calmly recounted what had happened in the past half month.
"Under the guidance of the demon hunter, we first went to the small town of Ryan, but found nothing. Then we started..."
Madison was able to tell the story calmly at first, but as time went on, he became increasingly emotional.
However, every time this happened, Lord Grampian would cough, preventing Madison from losing his composure due to excitement.
After an hour of talking about growing up, detailing every detail, Madison's mouth was dry.
But he did not drink a sip of water. He was eager to describe the tragedy he had seen, but his words seemed so pale and powerless in the face of facts.
Finally, he gasped and said, "My lord, I...have finished."
Lord Grampian sat in a blank expression, smoked a cigarette, and coughed: "Ahem! Wonderful story."
"Sir, the Crete village needs wizards, we..." Madison spoke anxiously.
Lord Grampian waved his hand, signaling Madison to shut up.
"Don't worry, I will... ahem! I will find a way." said Earl Grampian.
After that, he looked at the bishop beside him and said, "Well, now tell me what you think."
