Hogwarts: I am the White Lord
Chapter 522: The Great Wizard's Funeral
No one noticed the strangeness in Luna's expression, except for an ordinary, almost inconspicuous middle-aged man in the crowd.
Everyone's attention was focused on Dumbledore's quietly lying body, while the middle-aged man and his companion seemed a little out of place. They looked around like two tourists passing by by chance.
The middle-aged man raised a meaningful smile, his eyes lingered on Luna for a moment, and then he said to his companion next to him: "Amazing little girl, very talented!"
He did not disguise his voice, but it seemed that no one except his companions could hear him.
His companion is none other than today's protagonist Dumbledore. At this moment, Dumbledore uses human body transformation to transform into an unprepossessing wizard, sitting in the audience like a transparent figure together with the middle-aged wizard played by Grindelwald.
"That's Sebastian's favorite student, a bit like a wizard's apprentice in ancient times. The girl's talent was developed and guided by Sebastian himself. If you want to poach the girl, Sebastian will definitely fight you to death."
"Don't get excited, Albus. I see some interesting future in her. I am simply amazed at the girl's talent. Sebastian is a man who hides his true colors so well that no one can tell his true colors until now. I don't intend to make myself unhappy."
Grindelwald curled his lips slightly, looked up at Fawkes hovering in the sky and continued, "By the way, the little girl seems to be not that sad after discovering Fawkes. You didn't give Fawkes enough instructions."
Hearing this, Dumbledore shook his head helplessly: "It's Fawkes' first time acting, so it's normal for him to be a little excited. Besides, I think his acting skills are good enough, and ordinary people can't find fault with them at all."
"That's right. Not everyone has the unreasonable talent of a little girl." Grindelwald chuckled, then turned his head to look at Dumbledore with a hint of teasing in his eyes. "Albus, how do you feel about attending your own funeral for the first time?"
Dumbledore was stunned for a moment, glanced at the grand funeral scene, and then uttered a meaningful sigh: "It's amazing!"
He said slowly: "I never thought that so many people would miss me and even come from afar to say goodbye. But if this day really comes, I would rather be buried simply in a valley full of flowers in the spring. No tears, no such pomp, just a quiet farewell, that would be enough..."
Amid the sobbing of the crowd, Professor McGonagall slowly stood up, took a deep breath, and walked to Dumbledore's body with red eyes. She paused for a moment, as if saying goodbye to her former mentor and close friend.
Then she turned around to face the crowd and began to give the final speech of the funeral in a choked voice.
"Albus Dumbledore," she said in a trembling but clear voice, "is a great headmaster. He has devoted his whole life to Hogwarts and the wizarding world without regrets."
Professor Flitwick, Professor Sprout and Newt, who were sitting in the front row, kept their heads down and said nothing. Everyone's face was filled with sadness.
No one could accept that the great wizard who was gentle, wise and always filled them with confidence had suddenly left them.
"He embraced everyone on this land with his selfless love."
A slight whimpering sound was heard, and Hagrid stood beside the crowd, holding a huge handkerchief tightly in his hand, trying hard to use it to wipe the tears that kept falling.
"He is a beacon of the wizarding world and has always been committed to fighting against the forces of darkness. He once led us to defeat the powerful dark wizard Grindelwald."
Grindelwald tilted his head slightly and looked at Dumbledore beside him, his eyes were complicated and deep. In those eyes, there seemed to be a mixture of memories of the past years, and a trace of inexplicable regret.
"When the mysterious man returned to the world and intended to stir up another dark storm, it was Albus who first stood up and warned us."
Members of the Order of the Phoenix sobbed one after another. Molly leaned on Arthur Weasley's shoulder, soaking his robe with tears. Moody turned his head, with an undisguised sadness flashing in his eyes, while Lupin and Sirius tried to grit their teeth and try to suppress their emotions, but their slightly shaking shoulders betrayed their hearts.
"Today, he is gone," Mag's voice became increasingly choked. He paused, took a deep breath and continued, "but his spirit will always be with us and continue to inspire each and every one of us."
The mermaids by the lake surfaced, swam gently around the lakeshore, and sang in a low and melodious voice. The voice had a strange magic, as if they were bidding farewell to the great white wizard.
"The name of Albus Dumbledore will forever be etched in our memories."
Thousands of wizards who came to watch the ceremony took off their hats, stood up and bowed to express their deepest respect to the legendary White Wizard.
Low sobs rose one after another and soon turned into uncontrollable sobbing. Many people covered their faces and cried, letting the tears flow.
For a moment, the entire Hogwarts was shrouded in the shadow of sadness.
Suddenly, there was a phoenix cry, and Fawkes circled down and landed directly on Dumbledore's body. Then flames rose into the sky, wrapping it and Dumbledore in phoenix flames.
The crowd exclaimed, and Harry widened his eyes and looked towards the fire excitedly.
The phoenix is reborn through fire. Could Fawkes help resurrect Professor Dumbledore?
He dared not move his eyes, expecting a miracle to happen.
However, he was disappointed. The flames came and went quickly. When the flames faded, only a handful of thin ashes were left on the long table.
Where was Fawkes? Did he accompany Headmaster Dumbledore to his death?
Before Harry had time to figure out what was happening, he saw a dazzling white flame suddenly burst out from around the marble table. The flames rose higher and higher, and finally condensed into a pure white marble tomb, solemnly sealing Dumbledore's ashes inside.
There was a sudden sound of breaking through the air, and countless silver arrows shot into the sky like a torrential rain. However, these arrows fell quietly away from the crowd.
Looking at this strange scene, Harry immediately understood that this was the centaurs expressing their grief in their unique way. He watched those tall figures turn around and leave, slowly disappearing among the trees of the Forbidden Forest.
At the same time, the fishmen in the lake also stopped singing. Their figures gradually sank, slowly disappeared with the ripples of the lake, and finally sank to the bottom of the lake and could no longer be seen.
The funeral was over and the crowd slowly dispersed. Sebastian did not rush to leave the castle. He wanted to stay and help Professor McGonagall with some trivial matters.
Just then, Akinbade came up and spoke in a deep voice.
"Sebastian, there's something important I need to discuss with you..."
