Has the monster in the secret room been identified?

The young wizards were cheered up and immediately started thinking and sorting out the clues that everyone had given.

Cedric just said that Moaning Myrtle lost her life because she saw a pair of yellow eyes.

Potter also said that the monster in the secret room is the natural enemy of the eight-eyed spider.

There is definitely a connection between the two.

Cedric's eyes lit up, he raised his hand and asked, "Professor, I want to confirm something with you."

"Is Harry's Parseltongue related to this monster?"

Sebastian nodded approvingly, "That's right! The sound Harry heard was made by this monster."

This also explains why Harry was the only one who heard the strange noise on Halloween.
