Hogwarts: I am the White Lord

Chapter 188 The mystery is revealed

Has the monster in the secret room been identified?

The young wizards were cheered up and immediately started thinking and sorting out the clues that everyone had given.

Cedric just said that Moaning Myrtle lost her life because she saw a pair of yellow eyes.

Potter also said that the monster in the secret room is the natural enemy of the eight-eyed spider.

There is definitely a connection between the two.

Cedric's eyes lit up, he raised his hand and asked, "Professor, I want to confirm something with you."

"Is Harry's Parseltongue related to this monster?"

Sebastian nodded approvingly, "That's right! The sound Harry heard was made by this monster."

Hearing the professor's confirmation, the young wizards were moved.

It seems that the monster in the secret room is a snake!

This also explains why Harry was the only one who heard the strange noise on Halloween.

"Professor Swann, I figured it out," Harry said excitedly, "Why the sound I heard came from inside the wall."

"That's because the snake is moving around through the pipes of the castle."

Hearing Harry's words, Cedric hit his head in annoyance.

So stupid!

When Harry revealed his Parseltongue, he should have thought that the monster was a snake.

After all, it was strange that only Harry could hear it.

Moreover, the symbol of Slytherin House is a snake, and Slytherin himself was a Parseltongue.

It made perfect sense that he left a snake as the monster in the Chamber of Secrets.

Why didn't I think of linking these conditions together?

It's really too slow.

Now, the clues have been locked on to the snake-like magical creature. It would be too unreasonable if the monster in the secret room cannot be found.

Thinking of this, Cedric took out a copy of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and began flipping through it frantically.

After a long moment, he raised his head and looked at Sebastian.

"Professor, I suspect that the creature in the chamber is a basilisk!"

"Combining the two points of being a magical snake and a natural enemy of the eight-eyed spider, only the basilisk meets all the requirements."

"But," Cedric hesitated, "Theoretically, the basilisk's eyes can kill people, so why was Filch's cat petrified?"

"I see," Harry's mind raced, "Filch's cat probably didn't look the basilisk in the eye."

“There was a lot of water on the ground in the hallway when we found it that day.”

"Mrs. Norris probably saw the basilisk's eyes through the reflection on the water, so it didn't die."

clap clap-

Sebastian clapped his hands and spoke to everyone with a big smile on his face.

"Everyone's clues are very accurate, and Cedric and Harry's reasoning is excellent."

"The monster in the chamber is indeed a basilisk."

"Congratulations! Through your unremitting efforts, you have solved this thousand-year-old mystery."

"I see that many students don't know what a basilisk is. I will use Transfiguration to show you."

Seeing some young wizards looking confused, Sebastian stretched out his wand and pointed it at the desk in front of him.

In an instant, the desk began to tremble, twist, and deform, as if its essence was being reshaped. The tabletop made a low clicking sound, as if its bones were slowly stretching.

The students around held their breath as they saw the wood grain of the table constantly flowing and changing, gradually transforming into dark scales.

Gradually, the desk turned into a giant snake monster, and its huge body almost filled the entire classroom.

The basilisk's huge yellow eyes slowly scanned the classroom. The students felt a chill running from the soles of their feet to their foreheads, and they all began to panic.

"Don't look into his eyes, or you'll die!"

"Professor, don't kill us!"

"Run away!"

"Don't panic," Sebastian's voice sounded, "This is just a basilisk transformed from a pulpit. It only has the appearance of a basilisk, so there is no need to be afraid."

Hearing this, the little wizards plucked up their courage and looked excitedly at the big guy in front of them.

As the young wizard observed the basilisk, Sebastian explained slowly.

"The Basilisk is a XXXXX-level magical creature, first created by the despicable Herpo."

"Adult basilisks are extremely large and can grow up to 50 feet long."

"The natural lifespan of a basilisk is over 900 years, and the basilisk in the secret room has lived for a thousand years."

"The basilisk is very dangerous. In addition to its deadly gaze, its fangs and huge size are also very deadly."

"Also, it has thick scales on its body, so its magic resistance is very high, just like a dragon. Many spells cast on it will be directly bounced off."

"Therefore, when encountering a basilisk, many wizards can only run for their lives."

"Since the basilisk is extremely deadly, we cannot allow this basilisk to run wild in Hogwarts."

"The next goal is to find the secret room and get rid of the snake monster."

Looking at the excited eyes of the little wizards, Sebastian asked another question.

"So, have you ever thought about where the entrance to the secret room is?"

The entrance to the secret room?

The little wizards started thinking and expressed their opinions.

"The entrance to the Chamber of Secrets is unclear, but Slytherin's Chamber of Secrets must be under the Black Lake. After all, Slytherin's common room is under the Black Lake, so his Chamber of Secrets must be hidden deeper."

"It's actually very simple. The basilisk moves around through the pipes in the wall. We should be able to find the secret room by finding any pipe entrance."

"That's true, but the pipes in the wall are interconnected. We have no way of knowing which direction leads to the entrance to the secret room."

Sebastian watched the students' discussion with a smile, and after a long while he gave a prompt.

"Everyone overlooked a detail. Think about it, there is one thing in common between the last time the secret room was opened and this time."

What do they have in common?

Upon hearing this reminder, Harry immediately raised his hand.

"Professor, Cedric said that Moaning Myrtle saw the basilisk killed in the bathroom on the third floor."

"And on Halloween night, we found Filch's cat outside that bathroom, and there were words on the wall."

"Does this mean that there is an entrance to the secret room in that bathroom?"

Harry's eyes sparkled, he had never felt his mind working so fast before.

He was very sure that his reasoning was correct and there was definitely something wrong with that bathroom.

The young wizards agreed with Harry's inference very much. They looked at Sebastian with eager eyes.

"Practice makes perfect." Sebastian waved his hand.

"If we want to know the truth, let's go check that bathroom together."
