Black Myth: You and I are both destined

Chapter 11: A Different Tang Dynasty Monk

After Monk Faming left, Tianming came to the door of the meeting hall according to the location he said.

Standing in front of the nine-foot red gate, Tianming couldn't help but agree!

"He is indeed rich!"

He reached out and gently pushed the door open. With a slight creaking sound, exquisitely carved dragon patterns appeared on both sides of the door. The dragon's body was winding and lifelike.

As you walk through the gate, you will see an incense burner in the middle of the spacious courtyard with smoke rising from it. The courtyard is surrounded by green trees and lush flowers, which contrast beautifully with the quaint buildings.

He walked through the courtyard and came to the main hall. Wind chimes were hung under the eaves, swaying in the wind and making pleasant sounds.

The hall is softly lit, with a golden Buddha statue in the center and incense tables, offering tables and cushions placed around it for believers to worship.

A young monk is sweeping the dust off the golden body of the Buddha statue.

Tianming found it interesting and teased him.

"Hey, little monk, what are you doing?"

The little monk stopped what he was doing and turned around to answer.

"I'm wiping the dust off the Buddha statue."

Tianming asked again: "Buddha nature is always pure, where is the dust?"

This sentence comes from Huineng's "Bodhi Gāthā". How could the little monk possibly answer it?

He could only answer based on what he had heard.

"The young master said that by wiping away the dust from the Buddha statue, you are also wiping away the dust from your heart. This is spiritual practice."

"Have you ever seen the dust on your heart? There is nothing in the first place, so where can dust gather?"

This question completely stumped the little monk.

He kept rubbing his little bald head and thought for two incense sticks of time, and finally his little face turned red.

"But, the young master said that if you are pure, you should help others. This is also a form of practice."

Tianming was surprised. He didn't expect that the little monk could actually answer the question.

"This young master you're talking about looks like a very powerful person. Who is he?"

The little monk showed a proud expression and pointed behind Tianming.

"Isn't the young master right behind you?"

Tianming turned around and saw a young monk, seven feet tall, with delicate features and a very majestic appearance!

It can be said that this is the most handsome man Tianming has ever seen since he traveled through time.

"No wonder most of the female fairies can't walk after seeing him, he is really handsome!"

"The young chef is here. I'll ask the kitchen to prepare vegetarian dishes for you!"

The little monk ran out of the meeting hall quickly.

The young monk took a few steps forward.

"I am Xuanzang, may I ask if you are a member of our family?"

The term "benjia" here refers to one's mother's family.

When Tianming came, he deliberately said that he was entrusted by a man named Yin, because Tang Seng's grandfather's surname was Yin.

"It is."

Tang Seng was an eminent monk, so of course he could hear the hidden meaning in Tianming's words, so he led him into the meeting hall.

The two men walked into a meditation room one after the other and closed the door.

"Donor, please tell me."

"I'm here because of the Water and Land Assembly. What do you think, Saint Monk?"

Tang Seng had already known this from Guanyin, and he answered with respect.

"The water and land assembly is a good deed to help the dead souls to be reborn."

“Can it really be saved?”

Tianming’s words puzzled Tang Seng!

"Of course you can. Why do you say that, benefactor?"

"Haha." Tianming suddenly patted Tang Seng's shoulder presumptuously.

"So where is Chen Guangrui's ghost now?"

Tang Seng's eyes trembled and he lost the calmness that a great monk should have.

"Where is Yin Wenjiao's ghost?"

After hearing these two sentences, Tang Seng's hands were shaking and he said nothing, but Tianming became even more aggressive, his voice raised by octaves, and he almost roared as he asked the third question!

"Where is Liu Hong's ghost?!!!"

After asking the three questions, Tang Seng could no longer sit still. He grabbed the arm that was patting his shoulder and stood up!

"you……"

"You, you, where do you know this?"

Tianming laughed loudly!

"Hahaha!"

"You ask me? Then how do you know this?"

Tang Seng's anger was extinguished.

"If the master knows, then others will know too."

"In that case, I have nothing to hide."

Tang Seng talked about his past.

It turns out that Chen Guangrui is his biological father.

Chen Guangrui was the top scorer in the imperial examination and was appointed by Li Shimin as the prefect of Jiangzhou.

The prime minister of the time, Yin Kaishan, also took a fancy to his talent and betrothed his daughter Yin Wenjiao to him.

This would have become a beautiful story, but the couple was killed by a group of thieves on their way to take office.

Chen Guangrui was killed and his body thrown into the river. Madam Yin was taken over by the leader of the bandits, Liu Hong, who replaced Chen Guangrui's identity and took office in Jiangzhou!

Under various pressures, Mrs. Yin had no choice but to put the flesh and blood left by Chen Guangrui, that is, Tang Monk, into a wooden basin and let it drift down the river in the hope that someone would adopt him.

Finally he drifted to Jinshan Temple and was adopted by his master, Monk Fa Ming, and was given the Buddhist name Xuanzang.

Tang Seng inherited his father's high IQ and was smart since childhood. At a young age, he was proficient in the three sacred scriptures: Sutras, Vinaya, and Abhidharma.

After he became an adult, his master, Monk Fa Ming, told him the truth that his mother had left in his cradle.

Tang Seng also acted decisively. He came to Chang'an alone, found his grandfather Yin Kaishan, personally ordered his troops to go straight to Jiangzhou, and killed his enemy Liu Hong with his own hands.

After taking his revenge, he did not linger in the officialdom. Instead, he went straight back to Jinshan Temple and continued to be a monk.

Tianming didn't expect that the Tang Monk in front of him was both civil and military, decisive, and not interested in fame or fortune. He was completely different from the timid monk he saw on TV.

"Your grandfather is the former prime minister. Don't you want to go back at all?"

Tang Seng shook his head repeatedly.

"It's just a sad place. It's far better to stay in the Golden Mountain Temple and live a quiet life."

He was a top scholar, but he was killed by thieves, and his wife, the daughter of the prime minister, was also taken away. This matter was kept secret for more than ten years, and it had to wait until Tang Seng came of age to solve the problem himself. It must be strange.

A smart man like Tang Seng had of course seen it clearly a long time ago, and this was the reason why he didn't go back.

Tianming doesn't like monks and teases him on purpose.

"Jinshan Temple is indeed a nice and quiet place. On my way up the mountain, I saw the tenants there were planting and watering the land."

After hearing this, Tang Seng was a little unhappy.

"Master and I have never done those things."

The things he said were obscene.

The reason why Jinshan Temple is so magnificent is that tens of thousands of tenants at the foot of the mountain are farming for the temple.

Tens of thousands of people support a temple with a few hundred people, and they don't have to pay taxes, so they are naturally very rich.

Moreover, once the temple becomes larger, there will be some special regulations. For example, tenants with beautiful daughters can plant crops and irrigate the land, while tenants with no one at home can only reclaim wasteland.

In the Tang Dynasty, monks were allowed to get married, but of course the daughters of tenant farmers couldn't have that chance, as they were just slaves.

"You've already become a monk, so how come you have a worse temper than me? Even if you do, no one can control you."

"Since you know this, why would I lie to you?"

After meeting Tang Seng this time, Tianming's attitude towards him changed greatly, and he decided to slightly change the course of his plan.
