Mysteries: Arcana Wars

Chapter 4 Gunner

Klein opened the cabinet door calmly, hiding the small movements of his hands.

The apartment was silent except for the faint hum of the microwave and computer.

Klein, who had just awakened, gradually regained his keen spiritual intuition, but the strange sense of illusion brought by Melissa had been lingering in his heart, as if there was a hazy veil and a thin mist floating between Klein and the real world, making the originally clear and accurate perception become a little unreal.

The killer must still be in the apartment, Klein was sure, and the killer might have even seen the entire change that had just occurred. But perhaps his spiritual intuition and perception had not yet fully recovered, and in Klein's perception, the killer was like a ball of erratic fire. He could only rely on spiritual intuition to determine the approximate location, but could not determine the killer's exact location.

If the killer's target was indeed him, then he had waited in the room for a while, and he probably didn't expect that the unlucky programmer would die suddenly at the desk before he could shoot. But he also didn't expect that the office worker lying on the desk could stand up again, suddenly go crazy and cry and scream at the air. However, if the killer was professional enough, he would have shot the target again at this time, and then continued to squat in a small box and observe patiently to prevent other accidents.

So, although Melissa's shooting was an illusion, the killer's shooting was real. The bullet might have missed the target because of the killer's shock, or it might have actually shot through her head, but her spirit worm "repaired" the hole before she woke up. If it was just this simple physical damage, it wouldn't cause any trouble to her, at most it would just hurt a little.

...If Melissa hadn't awakened me, would I have died this night as a mere mortal...

Is the pitch-black bullet in the illusion a ritual of resurrection or a hidden code?

But no matter what, Klein felt that this killer probably didn't have such a rich imagination, and he certainly didn't expect that this familiar accident could happen again: the dead target not only became alive again, but was also planning to suddenly attack me!

The killer must be watching me, either planning to escape or planning to kill me again. Now I have to find him first without alerting the killer.

Klein tried to dig the bullet out of the black hole. The bullet was relatively small, probably from a small-caliber pistol. But the bullet was actually wrapped in a pure silver shell with intricate patterns engraved on it, and some familiar mystical symbols were hidden in the dense lines. This should be an extraordinary bullet infused with spirituality, but the strange thing was that from the bullet hole, it only exerted the power of an ordinary bullet.

At this position and angle, if you want the bullet to hit the wall in this position, then the only position to shoot is...

That wardrobe!

boom!

The open cabinet door shattered!

Before Klein could turn around, the discovered gunman rushed out of the closet first. Then there was a series of crisp bangs, and things in the kitchen exploded one after another. The gunman skillfully blocked Klein's escape route with a series of intensive continuous shots.

Klein, who had regained his combat experience, immediately looked through the blind spot behind the refrigerator and calmly analyzed the situation amid the violent gunfire.

The other party should be a senior and experienced killer, who may have an extraordinary background or even be an extraordinary person, but his spiritual bullets are disabled for unknown reasons, and it is possible that he has other normal extraordinary items. However, it is initially speculated that the other party should not know his true identity.

Perhaps, the other party feels that it is not worth using extraordinary power to deal with a programmer who has been working late at night for a long time.

So who on earth would make such a big fuss to kill a social animal programmer who has only been working for a few years?

Klein tried to drag out the historical projection of the Deathstroke with his backhand, but he didn't expect his hand to feel heavy. The historical projection that he had been able to drag out easily now felt very heavy, and his spirituality was also disappearing like flowing water.

There was no need to waste too much time here, so Klein immediately canceled the summons of the historical projection and changed tactics.

The dense gunfire finally stopped. While the other party was reloading, Klein immediately jumped out from behind the refrigerator and rushed into the living room. He grabbed the other party's spirit thread in the air with one hand, raised his thumb and index finger and pointed at the back of the sofa and shouted:

"boom!"

Powerful air shells grazed the sofa and the killer's head, and one bomb hit a glass jar on the wall.

The killer rolled over like a nimble mouse and hid behind the cabinet in the corner. At this time, the sharp killer had already sensed his abnormality, and strange stiffness quickly crept up his limbs. He looked at the bedroom door not far away, and just as he was about to jump out, the violent air bomb exploded at his feet, ruthlessly blocking all his escape routes.

The other party doesn't seem to have any particularly powerful extraordinary means, or his extraordinary power is restricted?

Klein observed the killer's various attempts to struggle and quickly came to a conclusion, but he did not relax his control over the spirit thread.

But before Klein could reach the killer, the killer had already finished reloading despite being stiff, and began to fight back against Klein. The messy and pure firepower still made Klein dodge a little, and the killer gritted his teeth and kicked hard against the wall under the cover of his own firepower, using inertia to let his stiff body roll towards the bedroom.

The killer's outstanding physical combat skills allowed him to successfully escape Klein's air cannon fire line, but he was unable to escape the control of the spiritual line.

Hearing a muffled sound coming from the bedroom, Klein immediately followed into the bedroom, only to see the killer lying in the corner with his limbs twisted and his head tilted. One hand was twitching and raised beside his head. He took out a blood-stained metal pocket watch from the back of his head. Blood was gushing out from the back of his head, coldly announcing the end of this farce.

The fight between the two sides left the room in a mess. The killer was unable to control himself due to his body stiffness, and he slammed his head against the bedroom wall, where an old metal pocket watch was scattered.

Apparently, the old pocket watch is of better quality than the killer's skull.

The process of becoming a secret puppet has come to an end. Klein came to the killer and stared at his final dying struggle. As long as he was not completely dead, any final counterattack was possible.

The disabled killer stared at Klein with his bloodshot eyes wide open. There was no fear in his eyes, but instead a hint of determination and fanaticism. His mouth, oozing with blood, was still struggling to move.

"Above the ten thousand heavens... the ten thousand heavens..."

Klein pulled his hand in the air, cutting off the killer's last whisper.
