Mysteries: Arcana Wars

Chapter 37 Negotiation (Part )

Scott Cartwright, holding a long blade of grass in his mouth, strolled slowly through the deserted cathedral museum.

The Church of Mother Earth did not have the right to preach or to act in Loen. So the Church of the Harvest sent a request for assistance to the Church of Steam and Machinery, asking for a thorough investigation of the explosion at the Church of the Harvest. According to Backlund's division of the jurisdiction of extraordinary things, the Church of Steam and Machinery should protect the hospital and museum of the Church of the Harvest.

The fact that I was sent to deal with this matter is enough to reflect the seriousness of the explosion and the importance the Steam Church attaches to it.

Thinking about being sent by St. Hillland Church as a senior deacon to meet with the people from the Harvest Church today, the old man felt a little unhappy. He combed his hair reluctantly and put on a formal church robe over his crooked old man's shirt.

It was so troublesome and contrived that even checking the scene seemed awkward.

The old church was divided into several floors, used as different exhibition halls, and the middle of the hall was deliberately left empty to form a high atrium, through which the towering sails could be seen at a glance. The huge wall separating the museum and the hospital still stood, blocking Scott's prying sight.

The creations of the old era and the updates of the new era are all intact, as if nothing had ever happened, except that occasionally some green weeds grow out of the cracks in the wall.

When Emlyn hurried to the museum, as soon as he entered the door, he saw an old man wearing glasses and a robe staring sharply at a grass growing out of a flat steel plate, then he spat out the grass in his mouth with a "Puh" sound, pulled out a new one and replaced it.

"Hello, are you Mr. Scott Cartwright, the senior deacon of St. Hillran's Church? I am Doctor Emlyn White, and I will be in charge of the investigation of this explosion."

"Where's old Sinedu?" Scott asked without turning his head.

"The teacher is still in the intensive care unit. He has suffered extremely serious physical and spiritual damage and it will be difficult for him to recover in the short term. Therefore, I will take over his handling of related matters."

"Oh?"

Scott turned around, holding the grass in his mouth, and walked over with a smile on his face, staring at Emlyn with narrowed eyes.

"So, you are now the acting dean?"

Emlyn was not afraid of this pressure. Thinking that the old man in front of him might be half his age, Emlyn even found it quite interesting.

But Emlyn did not look down on the other party at all. He also looked into the other party's deep eyes and said solemnly.

"Yes, I am now the acting director of the Earth Mother Church Hospital, taking over the management of all matters on behalf of Director Sinedu Williams."

"Does what you say now count?"

"Yes, Mr. Cartwright, I am now negotiating with you on behalf of the Mother Earth Church Hospital."

"Great! I like you kid!"

Scott spat out the grass in his mouth with joy.

"It seems that old Sinedu has a good eye and found a treasure like you. Just call me Scott, and don't worry about other etiquette. It's a complete waste of time."

Scott rolled up his sleeves and knocked on the wall with his hand.

"This is the building structure that the Loen royal family later added to the Harvest Church. These are all ordinary objects."

"However, this Harvest Church itself, as well as the hospital built by your Church of Mother Earth, are alive. In other words, you have left a backup plan in this church over the past thousands of years in order to deal with possible crises and disputes."

"When the explosion occurred, you must have used some means to activate the backup left in the church building to urgently repair the building. These things are extremely full of vitality."

Scott pointed at the grass growing in the gap and tilted his head towards Emlyn.

"This is the spiritual remnant of your things, or in other words, the spiritual overflow of this living building when it repairs itself."

Emlyn nodded seriously, and his evaluation of this "junior" also rose to a higher level.

"but--"

Scott suddenly raised his voice.

"Your Earth Church's own church's repair capabilities alone are not enough to restore a broken house to such perfection. At least the museum has no spiritual structure and it is definitely unsalvageable."

"That's very clear. I watched all the surveillance footage of the explosion ten times overnight. I can now tell you exactly which of those video clips were the power of your Church of the Earth and which were not - Oh, kid, don't look at me like that. The surveillance system inside your Harvest Church was blown up, but that doesn't mean that all the surveillance systems on the roads around the church are dead!"

"So, I conclude that in this battle, in addition to your Earth Mother Church and the terrorists who attacked, there was also a third party force that broke into the battlefield. It was they who repaired the house for you and even drove the terrorists back. And this group of people, who were able to repair the house so perfectly, must have at least a level 1 or even level 0 seal, or possess the ability of a saint or above."

"...I think we shouldn't rule out the possibility that angels are involved."

This surprised Emlyn. The previous analysis made Emlyn realize that this old man with glasses was definitely a tough guy who had experienced many battles, but he did not expect that this old deacon could make such a bold guess and judgment. This old Mr. Scott must not be a simple senior deacon, at least he has a considerable knowledge of the angel level.

Emlyn roughly estimated that this was a senior deacon at the saint level. The Steam Church was really generous this time.

But for Emlyn now, these were just minor scenes. Even so, Emlyn still put on a shocked expression in order to maintain his image as a little doctor who was entrusted with the task at the critical moment.

"You mean... a passing angel saved us?"

"Why, do you find this incredible? Come on, I'm just giving you a possible guess, I didn't say it was really an angel who did it!"

Scott found it a little funny. He put one hand on Emlyn's shoulder and stretched the other hand in front of Emlyn's eyes to gesture.

"You have to open up, kid. This is Backlund. Anything is possible here. Although after the 'Pact of Silence', the angels of each family will never take action easily, it does not mean that the angel forces that are not under the control of the church will not be idle and come out to muddy the waters for you..."

"Oh, I forgot. You are just an ordinary person who has just been exposed to the extraordinary world. Never mind. It is old Sinedu's job to teach you. Just listen to what I say and go find your teacher for extra lessons when the time comes."

Scott patted Emlyn's thin back and continued walking around the museum on his own.
