Mysteries: Arcana Wars

Chapter 369 Blood Sacrifice in Court

Helgi stood on the platform, silently looking at the busy work site below.

The launch vehicle carrying the new generation [Outpost] space station is undergoing final maintenance. Staff members with the Abraham badge on their uniforms are shuttling back and forth between the operating tables on each floor, and yellow robotic arms are dancing between the gray and white steel frames.

Since the original Outpost space station was destroyed, Abraham started to prepare a new space station as quickly as possible. The Outpost has a unique and important strategic significance, and this loophole must be filled as quickly as possible.

Fortunately, during this period of time, Abraham was preparing to abandon and replace the original old outpost and start a new cycle. Therefore, there happened to be a complete new space station in the warehouse that could be put into use immediately, which greatly reduced Abraham's response speed.

The only drawback is that part of the update plan had already been carried out, and a new engineering module spacecraft was first launched and put into use, but it ended up falling along with the old space station.

This was also the last spacecraft piloted by deceased astronaut Ravnne Abraham.

Helgi stroked the cold railing and thought about the situation Abraham would face next. He felt that the situation was more serious than ever before.

Abraham was not a monolithic entity.

In fact, when the outpost incident first occurred, the Elder Council did not immediately decide to rebuild the space station at all costs.

First, the middle and lower levels did not respond in time, then the management who executed the order ignored the space station explosion, and then the Elders and other superiors were hesitant about whether to continue to defend the outpost.

In the chaotic and disordered surface of the starry sky, there are satellite accidents of all sizes every day. This is as common as natural disasters. Outposts whose orbits are at the outermost edge of the safe zone have a greater chance of being scrapped. Some people may not realize how bad this incident is.

Some people are afraid of the chaos in the starry sky and think that Abraham should not continue to set up a space station in such a dangerous orbit. This is a choice with extremely unequal risks and benefits. As long as they choose to place the space station in a safe orbit farther away from the deep starry sky like other Star Wandering Technology companies, they can still meet the daily maintenance work of the satellite group, which will not only improve safety but also increase profits.

Helgi was known for his ruthless methods and was feared throughout the Abraham system. Although he was not a conservative who did not support in-depth exploration of the stars, this time he took a tough attitude and demanded that the [Outpost] space station be rebuilt immediately at all costs, and he did not even mind killing his colleagues in the meeting room.

"I admit that Abraham's first task during the century when God was absent was to maintain the status quo."

He held a sharp sword in his hand and paced in the center of the meeting room. The guy who was just speaking about maximizing benefits had his legs chopped off by his sword, and was carried all the way to the center of the meeting room by Helgi, and thrown to the brightest place to crawl.

It was this guy who did not connect the tractor out-of-control incident with the Harvest Church explosion, and did not report it in time. Instead, he treated it as an ordinary business dispute and allowed his subordinates to take the opportunity to blackmail the Steam Church, turning the thousands of years of glory of the Abraham family into a laughing stock.

Helgi admitted that this colleague had created good wealth for Abraham in business, but in this matter, he was on the wrong side.

The demigod's blood splashed on Helgi's face, making his thin and gloomy temperament look even more ferocious and vicious. His eyes swept across every member of the family meeting like a knife, and even those who supported Helgi couldn't help but break out in a cold sweat.

“But [maintaining the status quo] itself comes at a price.

"What is the price? It's blood! It's tears! It's life! It's money! It's the life you were living too comfortably!

"Do you think that 'resting and recuperating', 'maintaining the status quo', and 'waiting for the return of God' are just a way for you to play house on the achievements of your predecessors?!

"Wrong! Absolutely wrong!! We have been in an endless war. It never ends!"

He turned slowly, pointing his sword at the Council of Elders.

"Survival is a war."

No one expected Helgi to do such an outrageous thing, just as they felt that under the majesty of the three elders, no one dared to act rashly, and no one could hurt them. Under the protection of the angels, even if the gods disappeared, they could still gain stability and security.

The victim had such thoughts, which created too many opportunities for accidents. Helgi's actions were too fast, from the moment he had the intention to the moment the sword fell, which was completely beyond the spiritual warning of the demigod. Anyway, for the demigod, there were countless ways to reattach the leg, but Helgi didn't care about the life or death of this guy. If possible, Helgi would definitely prefer to clean up the mess directly.

"The outpost must be rebuilt! The boundaries of the safe zone must not be compromised!

"As long as we abandon the orbit of an outpost today, we will abandon more and more orbits in the future, until one day, the safe zone on the surface of the starry sky is completely lost, the satellite system is completely paralyzed, and everyone has a hard time, and we will all go back to the last era and eat grass together!!

"What you give up, someone else will definitely fight for it. Either the unknown outside the starry sky, or our competitors! No matter which party controls the starry sky orbit that is more outer than ours, we Abraham will never rise again!

"Everyone, some things can never be found again once they are thrown away."

Abraham had lived in comfort for too long, so long that he forgot that even survival in this world required enduring torture and pain.

There is no supreme mission provided by gods to guide them in the right direction; there is no major task of life and death to force them to concentrate all their energy; there is no distant and boundless curiosity to drive them on endless exploration.

For such a huge Abraham, it is a daunting problem to [maintain the status quo].

Helgi thought that he was not as talented as Vardas, and could not lead Abraham to create new glory or explore new frontiers.

All he could do was to preserve the family and merely [maintain the status quo].

Helgi shook the blood off the sword, put it away, and turned to walk towards the door of the council chamber.

“The Star Wandering Technology Center is in my hands, and so is the new outpost.

“It doesn’t matter whether you agree or not. Even if you object, I will continue to do it and no one can stop me.

"Abraham must have [Outpost]!"

Helgi kicked the door shut.

Now he had some understanding of why Vardas had defected from Abraham.
